Hah, good to know. I suppose they will make a similar move for Sword/Shield. Meanwhile, I STILL need to even all of Gen 1. Issues on cart batteries and dealing with backups, etc. for a little more than a year. (I have everything all resolved now)

It's going to be a while yet before I can even play the later cores. I have a thing about playing most games in chronological order.

I'm glad to hear that Bowser's Inside Story is as much of an improvement as you say! My time with Partners in Time has been pretty hit and miss as is (mostly the latter). There are quite a few problems I have already, but I think the thing that disappoints me the most are the villains.

Cackletta and Fawful were such memorable and interesting characters in Superstar Saga, it was hard to not like them. The Shroobs by comparison just boil down to "I am evil, must destroy." as their motive and even then, the fact you can't understand them kills any chance at them having any quirky or interesting speech patterns, such as how Fawful's dialoge worked. Everytime Cackletta and Fawful were on-screen in SS, I had a huge smile on my face, whereas every time the Shroobs are on-screen in PiT, I just sit there with a blank stare on my face, waiting for things to progress. The Shroobs are just more extreme versions of Mario characters and that's about it.

I'm not sure if that's a result of the game being rushed or what, though I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case. I've already encountered a softlock or two and I even found a clip that lets me skip straight to the final dungeon after I first gain access to the main entrance, which is supposed to stop you from entering it until much, much later on in the game. I jokingly thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be funny if I could roll under the gate in the ball form?" and then I actually did. I even clipped straight through the doors just beyond it. It was shockingly easy to do, and I found out that by doing this, I don't even need to finish more than two other areas to beat the game. This is what it looked like if you're curious: [Link]

I don't know how long I'll be working on PiT, though I will at least try to beat it. I think the only thing that could stop me from doing so at this point is some gamebreaking glitch or something like a stupidly long boss gauntlet that forces you through the entire thing again if you lose at any point. Keeping my fingers crossed that won't be the case.

You got to catch 'em all. Congrats!

Question though, each game of the Let's Go series has their own exclusives, right? I wonder how that works? One does not simply have two Switch machines at the same time, unless if there is some kind of service similar to the Pokebank.

How did you do it?

I really like how you stripe things. I know that sounds weird, but it gives a kind of 3-dimensional effect (not that I even see in 3 dimensions, so take that as you will), and I'm not sure how you do it. Stacy might be a new favorite, too; every now and again, I get on a kick for girls with hair covering their faces. The trio's cool, too; I love how the one on the right has this look on her face, like she's up to something, and Ella's just super chill about it. The new portrait kinda reminds me of a colorful fusion of Quote and Curly Brace from Cave Story, which I'm going to be replaying pretty soon. Pizza Time Explosion? I already love it by the title alone; I'm really looking forward to seeing how that turns out!

Nintendo's pretty tone deaf to the queer community, but it isn't just us; it's barely 10 years since the last Punch-Out game, and that was still stacked with racist caricatures. Sure, there weren't as many of them, but when you can literally punch the croissants out of a French dude just before watching a German dude saluting the Nazi air force... [Link] I'm on the fence about Breath of the Wild, even still (which is why I'm glad that my brother-in-law has it and is a 20-minute walk from here), but that makes me lean again.

At this point, I've written Atlus off as tone deaf to the queer community, too. I'm looking for something that treads the middle ground a bit better, because blatant pandering makes my cynic senses tingle, too. Tingle like I have a live electrical current running through one arm and out the other. I know what that feels like, too.

You know who's made some great trans characters, though? SEGA. The Yakuza games have both the super kinky, in-your-face, but not as just a punchline kind; and the kind you'd never even know unless you paid very close attention. Given my experiences, that does a great job of representing the community as a whole. Because Girlie, I have a lot of friends in the community!

As an aside, the new window color reminds me of a whipped strawberry frosting that I made about a week and a half ago; took a fucking HOUR to make, and I'm pretty sure my arm fell off and just regrew in my sleep, but it turned out pretty good. Probably a lot easier with an electric mixer, but I'm too damn stubborn to not make everything by hand.

She's so cute! Hair's getting really long, too; almost as long as mine. I can't tell you the last time I was at a beach... probably at least 5 years ago, which is when I think we went to Aruba. I've always liked boarding, but I haven't gotten the chance in ages. Still, it's getting closer to the time of year when I'm dressed more like this: [Link] Around the house, at least.

Well, whatever you do, I already like her personality quite a bit! It's interesting how so much personality can be conveyed without using a single word.

It's a difficult line to tread, for sure; I've seen a lot of trans characters that I really liked, even though (or maybe even because) they were over-the-top, but I guess it's just the way in which it's done. I still can't tell if Luigi keeps wearing dresses because that's what he wants to do, or because he's just a cheap punchline of Nintendo's, and given that Punch-Out is a thing, I'm not feeling like they're the most progressive company out there. But then, you have Triforce Heroes, where Link can wear a dress as an unlockable costume, and that doesn't seem like anything other than just getting to put a dress on him, so I'm not really sure. Of course, I didn't play much of it; I tried the demo, and it was kinda neat, but not enough that I'd want to buy it and devote my time to playing all the way through it. The Super Crown thing, though, I think is more to try to crush Bowsette; they must've been PISSED that the best character to come out of a Nintendo franchise in years was fan-made.

Truthfully, I haven't actually played a single Persona game, aside from trying out the first 2 (3, sorta? 2 is a 2-parter), so I can't speak much to it. For a long time, I just didn't play them because Shin Megami Tensei was my Satanic Pokeymanz, but the Persona spinoffs took out the pokeymanz. Oh, is that the rerelease of Catherine (which my sister describes as Dating Sim crossed with Q*Bert from Hell) or some other bullshit?

I've never really fit in anywhere my whole life, so I've developed the habit of carving out my own spaces here and there where all are welcome.

Well, that makes more sense than what I was thinking. I still have my former boss standing behind me with a rolled-up newspaper. *BAP* STOP OVERTHINKING THINGS! I love it! The palette, the sun as contrast, and the theme all fit her so well. I also like how you can't quite tell if they're stars reflected in the skyscrapers or if they're little lights on in the buildings. The whole shebang reminds me of Electrician on the Famicom Disk System.

I'm not 100% on the technology, but I know that the 3 secondary colors of light are cyan, magenta, and yellow, so I think it has something to do with that; even today, printers use those 3 colors of ink for that reason (and that they mix to make black, the other ink color). Of course, I remember when monitors came in black and a weird, pale-but-also-not-pale green color; not even black and white. Ah, back when floppy disks were actually floppy... and when the word processor and spell checker were on separate disks. I do like cyan and magenta together, but yeah, those particular shades could have stood to be a bit less... abrasive. Birdo was such an unusual case: imagine my bewilderment when I was reading the manual and saw the description talking about how she wishes she were a girl, and would rather be called Birdetta. This was 198...8, I think? Nobody really freaked out about it, either; it seemed like just a really random thing to throw in there. This is in the US, mind; I've seen some of the commercials in Japan, and they could've been a bit more sensitive, shall I say. And then, there was that whole Luigi scene in Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga that was a joke in very poor taste on top of a pile of jokes that were so unfunny that I couldn't always tell if they were even supposed to be jokes. It's not even just Nintendo, either; there's a scene at the beginning of Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abbaddon that made me rage quit in disgust immediately. Oh, but they're so progressive, because there's a character that might be gay in Persona 4! 🌭👋

Well, I figured you wouldn't object to meeting me in what is basically a queer paradise, though plenty of straight people come by, too.

My Internet is super slow today for some reason, so all I saw at first was Ella Flops and wasn't quite sure whether to expect a girl flip-flops or a 1930s Jazz singer violently face planting. I love the teeth, too; reminds me of this [Link] beautiful thing. I don't know what it is, but I want one.

Though I wasn't playing PC games in the CGA era, I did play the SHIT out of Jill of the Jungle back in the day, and that has a CGA setting; I played that mode just for something a little different, and those were the colors that I remember BLASTING ME IN THE FACE. It was an odd bubble in my PC gaming history, too, because was playing in the VGA era, and I was DEFINITELY playing in the monochrome era; I still have my Macintosh Classic right at my feet, waiting for the day when I'll have the desk space to bust it out again. I destroyed so many worlds in SimEarth... ah, memories... That and the one time that I made carnivorous plants sentient and so super-intelligent that they created space ship cities that blasted off into the galaxy. Oh wow; how did I not notice that the colors are similar to those of Nana and Popo... Of course! Vivian is best girl! THIS IMAGE VIOLATES BACKLOGGERY'S TERMS OF SERVICE I've been kicking around the idea of making a Final Fantasy 4 hack where Cecil becomes not a Paladin but a Cecilia. Of course, that requires time, patience, talent; all that stuff I don't have.

Hmm. It's unfortunate that you can't do anything about the invisibility aspect. Ah well, I've started to get used to the dash distance, so hopefully, that shouldn't be too much of a problem to work with now.

I think I'll just stick to doing pacifist runs of the "Run and Gun" levels since I enjoy those far more than the boss fights. That, and I only have 2 left to do anyway. I'll probably call it quits after that and move on to something else.

Thanks for all the help though! I really appreciate it!

I know, but I would hope that people would keep their own priorities, and not rearrange them for the sake of me, of all people. I mean, you know me and social media: I'm a digital recluse. Either way, if ever you need me, you can find me in the depths of the BRIGHT PINK CAVE I've dug for myself.

I'd like that, and of course, I like them all! 🧡 The self-portrait has really neat hair, not just for the gradient, but also the way that it falls over one eye. The café has a really neat classic style to it; reminds me of the sorts of things I used to see when I was... well, much younger than I am now, and we'll leave it at that, but the top has a subtle modern flare to it. The Super Climb Up promo art has a neat retro CGA vibe to it, with the cyan and magenta suits they're wearing, along with the VGA-kinda style on the logo, plus you know I can never say no to 2 girls in love! I love the sassy look on Daisy's face, too! Thank you for sharing!

An invincible dash sounds great, but it makes you invisible too? I'm already not fond of the fact that the dash isn't something you can cancel out of or turn around during, so having to deal with that on top of being unable to see where I'm going sounds really unpleasant. Is there anything that can fix that later on?

Focus: Only playing one game
I haven't really looked up what styles it will have since I haven't played the first game. So, all is new to me here... I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to this game because there aren't many similar games. Both Mario Maker 2 and Dragon Quest Builders 2 are very interesting.

Mario 3D World... I played it but was heavily confused with the movement and just felt dizzy. Give me back my 2D. It is a good game, of course...

I wish they'd port Super Mario Galaxy to Switch. This is the game I wanted to play when I was younger and couldn't have a Wii. I'll probably get it on Wii one day, but would be great to have it on Switch. Just a very unique game and would go well with Odyssey, I think.

Hmm, just noticed, you make games? Super Climb Up looks interesting.
