Minion of Bak'laag: 100+ unfinished games
Consider Yourself a Hero: Majority of games are beaten
On Fire: 3 beat or complete in a row
I was actually talking to my good bud yesterday about CotM2 and pretty much said exactly that. I love the level design of CotM2 provided everyone's alive. So many sections of any given level are clearly suited for one character over another and losing that character makes things so much more hellish. It can be especially grueling when you're making your way back to a boss from a checkpoint numerous screens back, only for one of those characters to be killed of (or be hurt to the point of practically being a hit away from death). It's exhausting for sure.

Mephisto definitely took some learning and yeah, I ended up discovering a lot of what you pointed out. Robert's fantastic for dodging those colored lasers and Hachi was pretty much my means of mobility while Zangetsu took care of the damage. Took me several tries but I finally got the bastard down, phew.

I see what you mean about the final episode, lol. My first file had Hachi and Gebel at stage 6 & 7 respectively, haha. Started a new one and now they're in stage 1 & 2, go figure. Knocked out the first couple of stages last night, gonna' keep trucking on and hope for the best.

I totally don't fault you for feeling that way and honestly I think I'm right there with you. CotM1 just feels more polished & well constructed and RotM, while a bit different gameplay wise, is infinitely more forgiving. That said, although CotM2 has some elements that are baffling to me and will occasionally frustrate me like mad, I still keep coming back to it. So I guess the game is doing something right.

That or I'm just coming down with Stockholm syndrome, lmao.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of how much luck seems to play into some of these fights. I know I lucked out in a few fights myself (Titankhamun in episode 2 was 50/50; I was being really careful, but at one point got Hachi up on one of those totems and was able to wail on him without him moving for a good while). I shamefully had to look up a few vids of the Gremory fight and was informed her tells are the way she holds up her hands. It's still a lot of trial and error and committing esoteric hints to memory, but I was finally able to get her. Made it to the final boss last night and I cannot even make it past his first phase, lol. I dread to think what the hell comes next.

Cheers for the heads up, man! I'm really hoping to persevere but again, it seems like that'll only come through if luck happens to be in my favor for this final episode. The random aspect, from what little I know, sounds like a good idea on paper... but in practicality, maybe not so much. Believe me, episode 2 alone has taught me that powerups are invaluable and are not to be passed up, lmao.

Yeeaahh draining is the perfect word here, lol. On the one hand, learning boss patterns and doing a little better each time is a rewarding challenge... but with some of these bosses, I hardly even get a chance. Titankhamun in stage 6 was especially brutal. Had to fight him a number of times over the course of an hour and some change before finally getting him. Was a pretty arduous fight, for sure.

I think for the sake of my sanity (and more importantly, my time) I may switch to Casual if progress continues at a snail's pace. I love the feel, aesthetics and characters of CotM2 but man, these gnarly difficulty spikes really are a bit much at times. If it really does get any more fiendish then yeah, I'm probably just not gonna' subject myself to it, lol.

Sleep: Not playing anything
The L and R mix-up is expected, albeit stereotypical, but I don't get why Jack Evans read his lines like Elmer Fudd, as you so eloquently put earlier. Does he act in other voice roles in any other game and if so, does he speak like that in all of them, or was that like a weird character interpretation that he came up with just for Dr. Right?

Yes, repeating the whole thing twice on Ghosts 'n Goblins is dumb and cheap, 100% agreed. The only sequel I played so far was the Master System Ghouls 'n Ghosts, which was a valiant effort and looks beautiful, but the amount of slowdowns is nearly unbearable at times. It's also too easy because the hardware didn't allow for many enemies at once. The bosses are pathetic. As for Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts, I am aware of the game, naturally, and will be playing. That game also suffers from slowdowns, but luckily, there's a hack that eliminates that problem, so I will wait to get my SD2SNES/FXPAK, whatever is called these days before playing it. But first, I will play the Genesis Ghouls 'n Ghosts. There's also the elusive SuperGrafx version, and even though I have the flashcart, the console itself is expensive.

Man, I love GSTAR321, he's always been my favorite YouTuber, shares my love for Mortal Kombat and survival horror, and his commentary is great without trying too hard, one of those rare guys that don't give a crap about being famous, advertising or even showing himself. Ultimately, that was just it though, he just up and gone when he had enough of uploading and I don't see him coming back after what, 2 years now? It's a shame. I downloaded ALL his videos, just in case, and even put a lot of them on custom VHS tapes I made, that's how much I love that guy. He's still alive and well on Xbox Live, just done with YT, it seems. I can sympathize though, I used to have a channel I abandoned, although nowhere as big. I plan on making a YT or Twitch channel where I will record gameplays on a CRT, not capture, but the real thing showing. I'm doing a lot of research on how to do it well, I have to buy some cameras that have a special function (shutter speed control) so that the footage comes out good. It's a niche little market that no one has done and stuck with it so far. I don't care about views, just wanna share some CRT playing, but that's for later.

I know what you mean about Capcom adding extra features to rereleases, it sounds like something that Nintendo should really consider, but oh well, Lua is still great!

Yeah, by the way, I also liked Generations because of the levels) And I personally enjoy cube Wispon for some reason) And agreed on other points you mentioned) Actually yeah, I never have thought about Wispons being some strange or wrong addition, they really are on their place for me)

Soundtracks are also still cool to me) As well as the pace of the story by the way)

Yeah, I also heard many things about Forces. But honestly, as I wrote - hadn`t seen anything too bad) It has some things that entertain me and that I enjoy) That goes to graphics and gameplay equally)

Wispons are great and fun really) Some nice changes and additions to classic elements)

I like that this game can be fast and short also with some nice soundtrack by the way)
Just mine opinion, though)

Is Elite Beat Agents rare now? I’ve always wanted to play it but I never actually looked for it.
Just wanted to say thank you for still being here. More people are rooting for you than you realize.
