★★★★★ I bought this on Wii U back when it came out in 2017, but some rough RL circumstances made me unable to play it past the ~50% completion mark for so many months I just kinda put it off, and decided I'd get it on Switch someday for convenience and apparently slightly better performance, plus wait till then to get the DLC... Well now, as of Tears of the Kingdom's name reveal, I've finally done so, and am playing it for full completion, having the time of my life.

Oh, you are planning on it and not just it? Oh wow, you are in for hundreds of hours of exploration I guess.

I already the game and I am happy I did not finish all there is to do yet, so I can spend a little more time with it, get all the shrines, max out the armor and do the post-game quests if I feel like it. But taking it easy, at my own pace, and with the help of the amiibos to complete my collections.

Curiously enough, I also have the game since "DAY ONE", but only started it this X-Mas because I wanted to play/replay all the other Zeldas before it. I finally got there in December, so... I started it right away.

But, yeah, definitely do the DLC before the end game. I think it helps quite a lot.

Are you doing the amiibo stuff as well? You think you will be done with it before TotK?

I haven't seen MLP probably since the movie came out, but it still holds a place in my heart. Plus, even if I wanted to change the theme, it takes a lot of effort.
As far as the Final Fantasy Anthology goes, I mostly bought it for collection purposes. I have a hacked SNES Classic I'm using to play a translated ROM of FFV, but I haven't decided if I'm even going to add those games to my backloggery, so I'm just using the Anthology version to keep track of it. The weird differences in music and the loading times really make the Anthology versions hard to play, for me.

I was very impressed with the game. Was expecting something much less, so was pleasantly surprised at how great the style/music and tight the controls turned out to be. The story is really interesting as well! I haven't been so interested in this style of story telling in quite some time, I guess since the last 2D Metroidvania...

I agree it's only shortcomings being it's slightly too easy for a true Castlevania successor (at least there's various difficulty levels) and some characters played a little too similar and missing a Grant-styled character. I like Zangetsu a lot but would be great if he could charge his katana for a rapid slash or a spin attack. Very intrigued by his role in the actual game though.

Just like you said Ritual of the Night is shaping up to be a masterpiece. My expectations are higher than ever!

I might actually bring in a few PS2 games since I got rid of some games in here and am hooking my spare PS2 up in here. Probably gonna play SMT and Shadow Hearts on it. I missed out on most of the PS2's life cycle since I was a Nintendo fangirl in that generation (something I am quite the opposite now, I'm not a huge fan of Nintendo, part of the reason why was they offered me a single free game in compensation for thousands of hours of save data when they couldn't figure out why I couldn't connect to the eShop on my Wii U or 3DS)

Usually I co op a lot of games with my cousin either when he visits or I go up to San Francisco (about an hour drive, way better than a flight to Virginia). Still waiting to do some more light gun stuff co op like House of the Dead 1/2/3/4, RE rail shooters, and Virtua Cop 1/2. It's really nice to have someone close to me who will play games with me though, and an equally big Sega fan too.

My banner was actually drawn by a member here! It's my OC, who is the inspiration for my username...but that is inspired by Diablo, not SMT or Castlevania or biblical.

I dunno about that, but maybe that's just cause I have horrible experience with forums, all the ones I've been to have been full of assholes or just assholes staffing it. Gamefaqs (speaks for itself), PSN Profiles (people who get into fights with me over nothing and I'd get hit on in PMs like every week despite the admin saying he'd do something), and then some other crappy forums that just had some irritating people. I suppose with a lot of them, it's mostly teenagers too, which...most of the time I can't stand a lot of teenagers. I guess I could have long ago, but...that was almost two decades ago. I find that Backloggery as it is is for most part a beyond wonderful community and by far the best I have ever found online.

Sometimes, I end up filling as much as 3-4 comments (once I think I hit 6), which is pretty strange because I'm generally a huge introvert...although maybe I'm not as much of one online? Also I never was too great of a writer, but a few years ago I actually wrote reviews for a gaming blog...that was back before I started working though, and that kind of fell by the wayside. I have since had to leave my old job for a variety of factors, mostly the fact that I had been there for 5 years and the fact that they weren't too sensitive to my inflamed spinal disc.

I played a lot of Genesis and Game Gear in the time before I got my N64, mostly because that was all I had back then, in part because I really liked Sonic games. I actually was pretty far under 100 back in 2010, but yeah...that was before I got a job, and I have very little when it comes to expenses, so much of my earnings go towards savings and video games. I actually got most of my systems in the past 10 years, among other things, my Sega CD, Saturn, Dreamcast, Master System, 32X, Nomad, Game.com, Xbox, X'Eye.

I have some album photos of my collection in my sidebar as well as a Snupps that I more or less abandoned, all I managed there is most of my systems and most of my Sega games.

I was recently going through some storage boxes when I was getting some PS3 games to sell, and I stumbled across a spare PS2-I think it was the original one I had. I figure I can unhook some stuff I don't need and hook that up in here, so that I don't have to play on the CRT and in the other room. Gonna probably play SMT and Shadow Hearts.

Really? I was under the impression that competitive players were a lot more hardcore than anything the CPU in Darkstalkers could offer. I guess I've seen too many of those YouTube videos where someone pulls off a basically infinite combo and takes out a pretty damn good opponent without taking a single hit. Or those videos of people who don't suck with Phoenix Wright in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Just him, though; I didn't think Iron Fist was all that tough to use. That said, I've heard that Jedah is difficult to master, and he's my main, so if I had no real trouble mastering him, then maybe I'm better than I thought. Well, hey, you go for whatever makes you happy; I've just never liked competing against actual people in mostly anything. I'm that weirdo who really likes playing Fighters 1-player.

Marvel vs. Capcom won me over; I'm probably going to get this at some point. As ridiculously fucking complicated as 2 was compared to the last Fighter I'd played in depth (I think it was Street Fighter 2 Turbo?), it had such a nice learning curve that I was able to get into it, and played enough to unlock everything. I feel like this is just going to be getting used to the different bells and whistles, more than anything. Oh, so would you say it's a bit closer to Hyper Dimension, sans floating stages, in that case?

Well, that's certainly true, but Darkstalkers isn't as well-known as it was back then, either. "Oh, isn't that the game where the succubus, the cat girl, and the blue ghost with the big tits from Marvel vs. Capcom come from?" I think that the furry stigma is dumb. I totally get it, but I think it's dumb. Yes, there are obnoxious, sometimes creepy furries out there, but I feel like they're probably the vocal minority; you almost ALWAYS hear the most about the batshit members of any group. Look at the Westboro Baptist Church; you think most Christians are like that? I don't generally get turned on by anthropomorphs, but sometimes, hot is hot. I mean, the entire Breath of Fire series has had a playable cast mostly comprised of anthropmorphic animals (or half-and-half ones, like Nina, Katt, etc.), and nobody really freaked out about them. Well, until they decided that 6 was only good enough to be some crappy phone game, but I digress. I'm afraid I don't know Android 21 beyond, "It's a thing that exists." Let's see... Oh, goodness... Yes, that'll do.

This playlist alone [Link] is an example of how bad the online can be. I just stick to the in-game Battle area that you can access in the post-game. it's fun to try out new strategies and pokemon there, and the one in XY is damn near perfect since you get BP just for winning a match, not just the entire challenge (though you get a decent amount for winning even that), and you can change the BGM music and stuff. (haven't tried the one in Pokemon SM much, since they upped the difficulty for even the regular tower.)

I'd think so. I mean, I've seen a lot of characters that many people find attractive (just look at the vast amounts of fanart Gardevior got). just don't be like this guy. [Link]

I know... like how Togetic is meant to be Togechick. (トゲチック; the チ can be either Ti or Chi). in some cases, it's not even localization; some of the Japanese Gen 1 Pokemon names were a lot more generic compared to how they were named elsewhere, like Ghos (Gastly), Ghost (Haunter), Sand (Sandshrew), Coil (Magnemite), Gallop (Rapidash), Strike (Scyther). even the elemental birds weren't safe, lol.

All I can say is "good luck" if you attempt to as it's not an easy language to learn; it wasn't too hard to memorize the Hiragana and Katakana, so I can figure out the text if it's only a word or a short phrase (so I can navigate menus with little problem), but entire sentences are still difficult for me to decipher, especially if the game (or whatever you're looking at) contains Kanji... they say learning a second language is easier when you're young since you absorb information more easily.

True, that's what most people do. the problem I have with fan-translations is that a few of them (not a whole lot, just a few) don't load up the text correctly due to them not bothering to test it. this game is one example (though you wouldn't exactly need to know Japanese to play it). [Link]

There's nothing wrong with talking a lot; just means you have a lot to say, and I see it as a good thing. in fact, part of the reason why I talk online is because there was a incident in school 12 years that offended me so much that I made a vow to not speak to anyone else again.

Thanks!

You can't even cheat on newer gen games, lest you want to get banned from online (or get bad eggs).

I remember seeing Primarina's design leaked online and I was like... "...yep, that's definintely going to be my starter".

Not to mention Geodude. you can have female Geodudes.

It's the same with some Pokemon attacks as well; some of their English names don't really correspond to what they actually do. like Heat Wave is treated as a breath attack in America, while its Japan it's called Hot Wind and is more like a superheated wind attack (hence why it can be learned by many flying-type Pokemon via breeding, and why Sigilyph can learn it despite not having a mouth at all). Submission has nothing to do with ACTUAL submission holds, but rather a luche libre attack (its Japanese name is Hell Wheel). Comet Punch became Meteor Mash in America because NoA already used "Comet Punch" name for a Gen 1 move called Consecutive Punch in Japanese (the only hint you get that it's a fist-attack is that it produces a fist sprite when used). and then there's some slight localization confusion when it comes to moves that Bulletproof defends against which is a made a bit clearer in the Japanese game.

Oh, I see. I wasn't sure.

Apart from working on Rudras, I've been looking for Game Boy games since 3DS VC more-or-less died out in 2014. mostly been buying from Japan. was previously looking around for FC and SFC imports but I've slowed down on that. I'm also learning Japanese so I can better enjoy some of these games.

I'm an introvert both online and in RL, despite what the mountains of dialogue I put suggest.

I've actually gotten better recently. had a stuffed ear and laryngitis, the former took months to clear up. had a ear infection at well. last year was even worse (had pertusiss, which meant I had constant coughing fits, made even worse by the fact that I've got asthma).

You were lucky in that instance... my Popplio was male, and I didn't feel like resetting the game over and over to get a female one, so I just stuck with it. Primarina is probably the most feminine pokemon in the series to have the highest probability of being male. even the Gardevoir evolutionary line had a 50-50 chance.

I liked the design of pretty much all of the Water-type starters.

I try not to half-ass my responses.

What's on my mind? well, uh... I don't know how to answer that. what do you want to know? actually, I only recently just started talking to people again; I stopped talking on here on 2013-2016 because a few of the users weren't as nice as I thought they would be, and I needed to clear myself out of the toxicity. the only reason why I chose to start talking again was because someone else I met on here (that I still talk to nowadays) said that I should give myself another chance.

Yeah, I finished both Live-A-Live and Bahamut Lagoon last year, and Rudras is my next one; MK recommended me all of those, and I found them both to be great. Rudras in particularly feels like a mix of Live-A-Live lite and Final Fantasy 6 if it was suped up a little (it has idle animations, faster combat, etc). I haven't been playing much of it, though, because I've been ill for a while...

Hi, I'm Lilith. I got my start with the Game Gear (actually my first ever system), and the Genesis, and that was it until '98 with the N64 and GBC (for OoT and Pokemon). Since then I've collected a huge library of games and almost every mainstream video game console, though I never have owned an NES.

I emulate a lot of stuff on my RetroPie these days instead of digging up my carts from storage simply because I don't have the physical space to store them in my office, I have like 5 shelves of disc games across Saturn, Dreamcast, Sega CD, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U, PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, Xbox, 360, and xbox One, along with Sega Master System and Switch for cart based. I have like half a dozen cabinets above my 47" HDTV full of my PSP, Vita, DS, and 3DS games, along with old PC games. I have a 27" Sony Trinitron CRT in my bedroom along with PS1/PS2/Saturn/Dreamcast lightguns. I have a few pictures of my collection in my sidebar, though I need to update them some day. I also have a top 10 in my sidebar.

I see you have a Specter of Torment theme. This past weekend, I was trying to co op it with my cousin, and it doesn't appear the DLC campaigns have co op, just Shovel Knight itself?

Well, I can understand that; Fighters have ABSURD competition online; as good as I am at Darkstalkers 3 (managed to 1CC the thing with every character but Huitzil; most of them on my first try), I'm sure I'd get ANNIHILATED by any serious competition. I've never been a competitive person, either, so as strange as this may seem, I've always been a bigger fan of playing Fighters by myself. Unless your name is Super Smash Bros.

See, I had a hell of a time with BlazBlue; I couldn't even finish the intermediate tutorials. Marvel vs. Capcom, though? I'm all over that; I've beaten 2 countless times and unlocked every damn thing, and beaten 3 (Ultimate) with everyone, even Phoenix Wright. The Super Dashes sound like a great feature, too! I assume it's 2D, but is it multiplanar, like the old Super Butoden games, or relegated to a single plane, like your Street Fighters and your Mortal Kombats?

I've seen the entirety of the first 2 sagas, so I know all about Beerus and Blooper Saiyan, and I've seen pictures of Goku Black (his outfit is so damn cool), so I'd say I'm pretty safe. Sounds like a great game, though; thanks for the info! Of course, I also still have to check out the Xenoverse games; the possibility of creating my own female Majin is just too fascinating to pass up.

Addendum: I think I'd have to call you a liar if you'd said that you didn't have a crush on Felicia; I think damn near everyone who's played Darkstalkers has at some point, myself included.
