Oh yeah the localization thing is totally just a hobby for me, and mainly as a ROMhacker/dev, although...三年ぐらいので僕は大学で日本語を勉強しています。I feel like I can probably assist in either role for these kinds of projects now.

Lucky find with Folklore! It has come down a bit now, but that price spike was no joke when we were in closure panic.

Street Fighter 4 for me was amazing and really brought me back to SF in a big way, 5 feels like a mess its bloated with content almost but seeing Akira in another fighter is cool

6 is great in terms of streamlining the experience and just feels a lot better however, for versus it forces you to use its new simpler controls which I personally hate sue to playing with the older school.style forever

Yeah, I really wanna get more into the Rayman series, and it seems that 3 is very good, I'll try that then Origins I think.

I also think that you mean Oath in Felgana, as it shares the same graphic style than Ys VI and Origins, Celceta has a 3D engine graphics, a bit better than Ys VII.

Like you, what impends me to get into the trail series is the amount of series I'm playing now. I kind of miss playing a Tales of game, a series that I like a lot, but I haven't been able to really sink my teeth to.

Enjoy Castlevania Lords of Shadows, for me is an underrated interaction of that beloved franchise!
Cheers!

Yep, the community here is great, I'm been here for a long time now and I enjoy it so much that don't even see the time passing by.

Vanquish is a blast to play, and it is very short, so it is perfect for replays.
Ys Origins is really one of the best Ys that I've played (although I haven't played many of them), is still fresh in my memory after I beat it a couple of years ago, and the third run is really worth it for the ending.
Ys Memories of Celceta is very good too, I'm about to end it I think. It is a short game too. But as much as I'm enjoying it, it is not as good as Ys Origin or YS VIII, as the combat feels a tad less polished compared to those games. I think that I'm going for the Oath in Felghana next time, which has quite the good reputation.

Or perhaps I'll take a dive into the Trails series, that people talks about so much. The first 3 are in Steam for a reasonable price.

Or I'll finally play the Last Story in the Wii, since I have that game like for an eternity now and I want to beat all my Wii games this year.

Or, I'll finally play the remake of Final Fantasy VII, that I've been eyeing for a year now, and never got around it.

Or, I'll play Yakuza Kiwami 2, because that franchise rocks and Yakuza 0 was one hell of a great game.

Or, Monster Hunter Rise, I love Monster Hunter...

Or, Oh gosh, so many games...

Happy ring day!
Hey now that you mention it, yeah we spared a couple of SFIV back at the time, and I think that the 3DS was on it prime. Sure time flies eh?
Well, I'm sure we will find a game to have a good sessions at some point.
The 3DS has a very nice library, if you can hack one (apparently is quite easy to do so) is worth it.
I still have Dragon Quest VII for the 3DS, a long game it seems, but I'm sure that I'm going to play soon, as it is the last main line Dragon Quest game that I have to beat.
DQ VIII is really good, I played the PS2 version a couple of times, and it seems that the 3DS version adds quite a few of content and quality of life changes.

Haven fun playing Vanquish, I replayed it not so long ago, it is a very fun TPS !
Cheers! And have a great ring day!

Whoa! It is true that we are talking since the good old Street Fighter 4 days... time sure flies, and it is amazing that we keep in touch.

Back at the time I had the 3DS as well, and it became one of my favourite handheld systems and I keep searching games to play on it (I even like the 3D effect, it seems that I am a fan of gimmicks) Rayman 3D is the first game in the franchise that I play. I bought it in a flea market a couple of days ago for really cheap and in mint condition, I had no idea what to expect and then I discovered that is a port (a rather bare-bones port) of Rayman 2. I am having a good time playing it, that's for sure!

I haven't played FFVII remake, can you believe that! Final Fantasy is one of my favourite franchises of all time and I haven't played that remake...
In anticipation I played the original one a couple of years ago and I had a blast. I should give the remake a go soon, perhaps after a couple of RPGs that are on my waiting list now. Have you played? Did you like it? It seems quite different from the original.

I'm glad you liked Secret of Mana, it is a charming game, from the music to the art direction, it even has Santa in it. Yes, I did write about Secret of Mana Remake at some point defending it from being so neglected. Graphically it isn't the best looking out there, but the gameplay is much improved and way more engaging now. Check the original though, if you have the time, it is still a great game from the SNES era.

Ys Origin is great, the story wraps up very well when you finish it with the 3 characters. I really enjoy the flow of the Ys games, even grinding for levels is fun. I'm actually playing Memories of Celceta, and after some time of adaptation (it doesn't play quite as Ys VIII) I got into the flow of it and having tons of fun.

I had the same experience than you with Horizon Chase, I played the courses and then came back for the first place. I like its gameplay, very old school and it reminds me of Top Gear and Outrun. But I couldn't stand the music. The composer is the same that did the music for Top Gear, which may be good at first but the game has just a few tracks that get repetitive fast. Perhaps I should do like you did and play it in mute.
The sequel has been out for a couple of years now, I wonder how it is.

Cheers!

No prob, Bob. I know you'll enjoy it in the end. Just look at a walkthrough when you have to track down certain items.

You're South American, so you saw this cover back in the day, right? [Link] Oh, and probably this too? [Link]

Nice to meet ya! I appreciate the kind words and the multi-tap add! I do try to mix things up as much as I can when it comes to my Now Playing list...only, it never really changes. It's been the same games for quite some time now!

Thanks a lot! Happy new year to you too! full of great times and victories.

Also thanks for your feedback about our article, it was a fun to make write it. I highly recommend YS 8, it is a slow burn at first but it gets very good once you get to the island. And Yakuza 0 is fantastic too, it was my game of the year 2022. (My GOTY are almost never a game released that same year, haha!)

Yakuza 0, has the best story that I've seen in a video game.

Fire Emblem 3 houses is the next FE game in my list as I've just finished Shadows of Valentia. I'll keep you tuned with my profession with 3 houses, I'm curious to know why you didn't like it. At least Engage seems to come back to the old formula and that's good for me.

The Conduit are fine games, and I enjoy the motion controls (I may be in a minority here) but I don't find interesting to play those shooters with the Pro controller. I'm giving a good spin to my Wii this year, as I want to beat all the games that I have for that system.

Horizon Chase Turbo is a little gem for me, I've played it quite often but there's one hick: the music. For me it gets unbearable after a while and that's perhaps the main reason why I haven't beat it. Oh well!
