Thanks for checking into that. I will definitely be keeping my eyes open for the PSVR that has the Move controllers. As for the volume, I kinda thought that to be the case but needed confirmation. Thanks!

I can understand the reasoning. It's not that I am necessarily opposed to SD characters but I do prefer a "normal" look. Granted I will take SD characters over none at all though. I have a small stash of SD Gundam games (21 in total) that, as far as I know, never reached the States.

Nice! Waterworld alone is going for more than that so....yeah....You got a deal. To be honest, I can't remember the exact details surrounding my purchase. All I know is that I purchased Waterworld with 5 other Virtual Boy games and thought that I got a really good deal. I remember thinking afterwards that I would have bought Waterworld by itself for about that price....so I am thinking the lot had to be around $70-$85. On the flip side, I bought Wario Land by itself.....and am fairly sure that I paid $36 for my complete copy.

I was referring specifically to "Catz" and "Dogz" for the DS but assumed (and falsely so) that you disliked other pet-related games as well. It seems that I have played one of the Barbie games in my collection. All I know is that it wasn't all that memorable. In fact, I can't remember exactly which one it was so that ought to tell you something (other than the fact that I have....WHOA!....I actually have 21 of them.....). Eeegads!!! What a collector buys in an attempt to complete a library! Who knows though.....perhaps some of them are fun after all. I suppose that I should at least give them a chance.

LOL Well actually....Back when WCW was around, I used to watch wrestling every week. I still have those VHS recordings. Listen brother....I must admit that I no longer watch wrestling but I still do Hulk Hogan impressions at my job.....and I would even....WOOOOOOO!...do Ric Flair occasionally. I must admit that I haven't played WWE Crush Hour yet but I do look forward to it. Unfortunately all of my PS2 and GC games are boxed up and I can't get to them right now. I really need to get my new video game room fixed up so that I can set everything up.

Well I just had my 8th anniversary not too long ago so I am not that far behind you.

$2.5K.....That's a nice chunk of change! You get what you pay for though. A top-tier PC doesn't come for free. I guess I can understand why you would have those digital games. After all, you do want to get the most for your money.

Perhaps my problem was that I kept deleting the unwanted updates. I didn't want them and felt that I should have the choice whether or not they were to be downloaded in the first place. If it is a hardware problem, I have no idea where to look to correct it...and I don't feel that it would be worth it to call tech support and pay to have it fixed. If it was something I could do, I would expend the effort to ensure that my money didn't go to waste. Really I should just wipe the hard drive and have another OS installed. If I never get on the internet with it, having XP shouldn't pose a problem. I know it's no longer supported but all I would use it for is gaming so it shouldn't matter.

That is good news! However, it's not so good to hear that the sound comes through the headset. I assume that there is a volume knob that will allow you to cut the sound off, right? It wouldn't make sense to have no volume control...but I have to ask.

So..Panic Bomber is the same and the Japanese version of the baseball game is slightly worse than the US version. Thanks for the info. I may still decide to acquire a few Japanese Virtual Boy games on my planned trip to Japan next year just so that I can have them in my collection. Perhaps I may get different games so that I can let you know the differences as well. It is good that you jumped on them a while back. I am sure that you paid less than what they are going for today. If you don't mind me asking, how much did Waterworld and Wario Land set you back?

Even basic menu text is more than most people know when it comes to Japanese. I must admit that I struggle even with that. LOL I know enough to get myself in trouble and that's about it.

If you want to complete a library, you are going to have to get at least a few 0 interest games. Yeah, I noticed that you have some pet-related games. Can't say that I am tremendously interested in those either. If I ever play them, my interest would probably decline even further.

By the way, Happy Backloggery Anniversary! That's 10 years on this site!

I see..... so it's kinda like the situation with AMD or NVIDIA graphics cards. Only gaming laptops are going to have them. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for your VR ready computer?

By the way, the main reason I hate Windows 10 is the fact that updates seem to be impossible to cut off. I can't even remember how many times I tried to put a stop to them. Since I couldn't cut them off, I cut the laptop off! LOL Honestly, even if I wanted to cut it back on, I couldn't. The power cord has run off somewhere and hidden from me.....either that or I have misplaced it. Hey....the laptop has a mind of it's own refusing to cut off updates so why couldn't the cord have a mind of it's own, right?

Okay....the PSVR should have a camera. It is a bit worrisome that you mention "SHOULD". I take it that means that some don't and I will have to be on the lookout to make sure the one I get does. Hope I don't forget that important detail. You mention noise cancelling headphones vs earbuds. Are there other choices....like perhaps not having anything on my ears at all.....or is one required to make that choice? Does the VR headset cover your ears?

Ughh...no way to bypass the install.....Not exactly what I wanted to hear but at least I won't be getting my hopes up for nothing. Oh well...

As for the Virtual Boy....I wasn't even including Japanese games. I might have to check them out as well! The Gundam game sounds interesting. I will have to check that one out....though if it is too expensive, I probably will just have it on my wishlist. I see that you have Panic Bomber and Virtual Professional Baseball '95. Cool!....eBay I presume?

My reading is very nominal. I can only remember a little kanji but I do plan to learn the language at some point in the near future. I did buy a Japanese language course and have had it for years....just haven't gotten around to it yet though. The games aren't exactly padding as I am interested in the exclusive games...especially those involving Ultraman, Kamen Rider and Gundam. Padding....LOL...It almost sounds like a curse word when you mention it that way. I prefer the term "collection accents". Still, I have to admit that I am not all that interested in most sports games and definitely have no interest in Barbie, Bratz, or Strawberry Shortcake so I guess those really ARE padding.

That being the case, I would have to say that none of my laptops are VR ready. I am not sure when companies started making laptops VR compatible but I doubt that it was before Windows 8 (I have one that is Vista and one that is 7.). I do have a Windows 10 laptop but it is a bare-bones, stripped-down model that I purchased for less than $120 tax included. When I say bare-bones, I mean no CD/DVD drive, very little memory, a low-grade graphics card, and not enough USB ports for peripherals. I hate Windows 10 so I probably shouldn't have bought it....but oh well.

No physical copies of games = no purchase. Yeah, I guess you know I am a bit of a stickler when it comes to physical copies.

You speak of a camera.... Does that come with the PSVR headset or do I have to purchase that separately? In any case, my TV setup is most likely a perfect match so I probably won't encounter any camera issues.

To be honest, I really wish that Sony didn't require my games to be saved to the hard drive. What is the point when the disc is required to play the game anyway? I am sure that Sony has a monetary reason behind the decision to make that a requirement but, whatever the reason is, it isn't helping me at all. I wonder is there any way to bypass the installation process???

Admittedly the Virtual Boy has caught a lot of flack. Critics bashed it for how it looked, the 3D imaging, the controller......pretty much anything they could latch onto. Half of the time I listen to critics the other half not. Unfortunately the Virtual Boy fell into the former and not the latter. I got the console to serve more as a display piece but I really should break it out and play some games on it. After all, I nearly have a complete library of games for it. All I lack are Red Alarm and Jack Bros. If I could only get to the system........

Sorry about the late reply. You really have to time things well to get those 10% savings on eBay. It seems as though most of the time for me there is nothing of interest when these discounts come up. LOL

I am unsure if my laptop can be considered VR ready or not. If I had to guess, I would probably say no....but I can't be certain. Thanks for the tip regarding the Vive. Just in case, what are the minimum requirements for a computer to run A VR setup?

Regarding the PSVR....How much space is required? If my laptop isn't up to the task, I may have to get the PSVR. Hopefully I have enough space on my PS4 just in case.

To be honest, I have never turned my Virtual Boy on. Since I used to get migraines quite frequently, I was hesitant to even play games on the system. Perhaps I should pick a Saturday and have a ice pack or cold, wet cloth ready when I fire the Virtual Boy up. I suppose I should wait until afterwards to eat. Having food on my stomach may be a bad idea.

Well, I got another package from an eBay seller today. It was a re-order for a game that I already had to return once to a different seller. This one is going to have to go back also! This "Like New" game had a photo in the description showing the standard version of the game, but the seller sent me the Platinum Hits version for some reason. Argh! That is 0 out of 3 orders now that have been successful.

$75 off is a fairly sizeable discount. Congrats! Of the 3, which do you feel is the best VR setup? I must admit that I really haven't gotten into the realm of VR gaming yet so any extra info you supply will be a help.

I haven't purchased one yet. As you surmised, I am indeed planning for a future purchase.

Just out of curiosity, have you picked one up yet? If so, what is your impression of the VR headset? Is it worth the price? If not, were you considering a purchase as well?

I do indeed have the full span of DLC for Oblivion, assuming Steam didn't overlook anything. Thanks for the heads-up about the Isles; one of the issues I'm having right now is that almost everything is already way too hard (except for a couple things that are stupidly easy; there seems to be no middle ground).

I'm currently working my way up in the Mage Guild; hopefully I'll be able to take advantage of the tower soon.

"out of my last 500ish buys, I've only had maybe 3 problems... but they were all resolved to my satisfaction."

Well, I got my first two games from eBay purchases today. In both cases, I ordered games in "Very Good" condition, but what arrived were games in Poor condition. Dented game cases with wrinkled art inserts and even gouged and missing plastic on the back! Ugh.. Both games are getting returned. What a hassle, and this is only the first 2 out of 4 games I ordered.
