Another tip that someone gave me that helped out was to utilize the pause feature as often as you need since there's no risk involved and might help you gain clarity and focus if things get overwhelming or confusing.

The first numerous times, I floundered at FTL until someone told me to invest in shields from the beginning, and boy did that make a huge difference. It took a handful of tries after that to reach the finale.

Is your banner from the movie Your Name? I am not a fan of anime, but I have been told that's an excellent movie and plan to watch it within the next month.

What a coincidence! Here's a look at my Hidetsugu build:

It's not really meant to win, just chunk away at life totals for as long as I stay alive. In Commander, I habitually build decks that totally warp the game for other players. Obviously, the best way for my opponents to deal with it is to gang up on me, but on MTGO it's rare to get repeat players so I can avoid the focus-fire from pissed-off people I've met before. This style of deck falls apart in an established meta where people know what you bring to the table and start acting accordingly (i.e. hating you out of the game instantly).

If that happens, I sometimes remind them that my deck is almost never meant to win. If you spend effort trying to kill me, and you end up not winning, that means your choices weren't the best because they could have gone to the bigger threat at the table. My deck almost always deals the same amount of damage to everyone. It becomes a skill-test to gauge just when my deck stops being useful to you and turns into a bigger threat than the opponents.

I've seen smart players totally avoid attacking me once they understood my deck so they could focus on keeping everyone else's life lower than theirs. My deck can be a big help to fast decks because it drastically shortens the game. "Prison-style" decks have a hard time because I can deal tons of damage without ever attacking.

So that's my play-style. I think the biggest appeal of Heartless Hidetsugu is its activated ability. In case you weren't aware, it combos with any card that doubles the output of damage like the following:

Admittedly, my deck doesn't run Furnace of Rath yet. I think it was a bit pricy online and this started as a gimmicky budget deck. These cards combined with HH's ability mean a single activation either kills each player or brings them down to 1 health, depending on whether they had an even or odd life total.

Two cards that are basically auto-includes in mono red yet don't show up in my 99 are Ruby Medallion and Pyromancer's Goggles, which I excluded because I wanted to keep my cards strictly on theme.

I hope some of this was useful to you!

Hey, I like red! I have a Mono Red commander too. I'm running Heartless Hidetsugu in a suicide-burn style that damages every player as fast as possible.

Red is pretty close to my top three colours. I think a slightly more accurate breakdown would look like

G > U = B = R >> W

The middle three are too hard for me to differentiate without a lot of thought given to it. But I love Green, and White is definitely least interesting to me (though I still play all colours as much as possible...Commander is great for that).

That would really depend on which aspects of Bomberman 64 you liked. In Second Attack, the multiplayer is much more diverse with the addition of some other modes (King/Coin/some other one). The main game has a completely different feel and offers co-op playability featuring Pommy as 2p. A lot of the puzzles are based on switching among different bomb elements to achieve certain effects, and they got rid of the time-attack element that the first one had for getting all the gold cards for completion. It's a pretty solid game, so I can see why the price shot up so much. But yeah, that's really unfortunate. I feel that way about a lot of games. lol

Hahaha, I know, right? Until I had played it, I was pretty oblivious to its existence. It's a Disney Mix, although I'm not aware of how it differs from the US version of DDR Disney Mix. They appear to both have come out at about the same time. It might be fun to try to hunt down a couple of N64 pads, but I can't imagine them being compatible with much on the N64, considering the joystick-mandatory control scheme on most games. Pokémon Puzzle League and Bomberman 64: 2nd Attack (?) could be fun, though.
