★★★★★ The Minish Cap is an underrated classic among games, but especially among Zelda games. This is one of my favorite Zelda games ever, and definitely my favorite 2D Zelda. The controls, items, gameplay, story and level design always keep me coming back, and even the sidequests and collectables are amazing! I've played through multiple times on and off the Backloggery, I just can't get enough of this one! If you want a handheld 2D Zelda game, this is as good as it comes in my opinion.

After purchasing the Japan-only limited edition of Ace Attorney 4 (逆転裁判4) for 3DS, I realized that the bonus mini soundtrack CD wasn't anywhere online. I took some initiative and made a high-quality rip of the disc, plus all the proper song data, and archived it for preservation! View here: [Link]

Did some rearranging of how ROMs and consoles are sorted on my backlog here. I can never decide what order to put my consoles in, but for now they're listed handhelds first (in order of preference), then Nintendo consoles newest to oldest, and PlayStations in order. Most ROMs are now sorted under "Miscellaneous" and put in collections based on the emulator/device used (more info in my profile).

Glad to hear that things have been good for you! Best of luck with finishing up all the projects you need to, and then kicking back with a well-deserved break!

It really sucks that that's how the situation is for acquiring older DQ games in the West(...). Goodness knows how much I would've loved to have played the DS games on some actual hardware if it wasn't for the old school/retro gaming market becoming so overpriced in recent years. If you could find decent prices for 'em on eBay or other online retailers that'd be fantastic, though it's always good to keep in mind to look out for potential fakes (as I've heard that DS/GBA counterfeits keep getting harder to tell apart from the real thing). And yep yep, happy to help out in any way I can!

As for DS recommendations, while it certainly isn't a game for everyone I'd say Flower, Sun, and Rain: Murder and Mystery in Paradise is an interesting experience. It's difficult to sum up into words, but what it sets out to do with its story/characters is equal parts impactful (IMO) and trippy. And speaking of difficult, the game's fairly puzzle-focused and a lot of them do not mess around (). Definitely more than a few puzzles where my mind completely melted and I had to pull up a GameFaqs walkthrough to have any hope of progressing, haha!

Here's to things going smoothly with your move and getting all your things situated when the times comes! At the least the vast libraries of the DS and Switch could keep you occupied for a good long while. Wishin' ya the best this Summer!

Heya, nice to be chatting with you again ()! I've been doing well, especially recently with my college semester being over and I can kick back with some vidya games! Hopefully everything's been just as well on your end too. :3

That's so cool how you're collecting games for the DS (not to mention the DSi LL that you've just ordered too)! For DQ games in particular, I may have played the Android version but I **highly** vouch for Dragon Quest V. The story is one of the series' all-time best, and it's a lot of fun recruiting various monsters into your active party (akin to Pokémon)! The one I'm going through currently, DQVII, is awesome too with the unique way its overworld opens up for exploration. And both have fantastic, witty writing for their cast of characters!
Haven't gotten to VI or IX as of yet, but I do wish to eventually. I've had such a hard time putting any of these games down, being completely honest with you!
DQ is certainly one of the more traditional series of RPGs out there, but I really do think you'd get a nice kick with the games.

Very unfortunate however that the asking prices for NDS Dragon Quest titles on places like Amazon (especially from what I've seen with DQV) are usually...quite high. It's a shame 'cause the only other accessible option these days for playing IV - VI is through mobile, if one doesn't mind the idea of touch controls for an old-school style RPG that is. I will say though that DQIV is best played on mobile, since the Western DS version lacks the Party Chat feature that the JP DS release included. I realize this got a bit long-winded (oops), but I hope what I've said helps at least. Can't go wrong with a series like DQ, especially if you enjoy traditional-style RPGs!! ^_^

Bought myself a brand new DSi LL from Japan! Won't be here for several weeks, but will be a nice step up from my current DS Lite! Holding off on finishing Ace Attorney 2 and 3, and Sonic Rush until the new console gets here.

It might actually be the perfect game to play after TWW! Since it was the next Zelda released after TWW, it shares a lot of aspects with that game, including recycling many of its sound effects, jingles, voice clips, and obviously the character designs. Yeah, it’s a real good’n. Hope you enjoy it when you get to it!

I absolutely adore Four Swords Adventures. It's one of the few Zelda games I never hear anyone talk about. I feel like many people assume it's just another zany multiplayer action game like the original Four Swords or Tri Force Heroes. If more people gave it a chance, they'd find an excellent single-player Zelda game with tons of variety and a nice little story. This is my fourth time playing the game since 2004 and I'm still loving every second of my playthrough. The graphics are beautiful to look at, with the camera constantly zooming and panning, animated fog, sun beams, and other filters often on the screen, the reflection of the clouds and ripples in the water, etc. It's a gorgeous game in motion. The music is mostly remixes of ALttP themes, along with some really nice original songs. The levels offer a lot of variety as well. There are dungeons, mazes, dual worlds, stealth sections, large scale battles, gigantic bosses, towns with mysteries to solves, horseback sections, and more.
Sorry for the gush! It's just I've been playing it a lot, trying to finish it before TotK, and my love for the game is all coming back to me.
By the way, the GBA link cable isn't required to play the game. I've always only played it with the GameCube controller and I never felt like I was missing anything. In fact, since you can easily switch the Links' formation with the flick of the c-stick (which you'll do constantly), the GCN controller might actually be the better control method.

So, I no longer have Prime Membership via Free Trial Benefits. But my father has Prime Membership and he's given me access via Amazon Prime Household, so I get the Prime benefits for free.

I've also gotten Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, a new NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 GFX Card for my desktop PC (I can minimally play Genshin Impact on PC again), a much better more comfortable medium firm 14-inch memory foam cooling mattress bed (to replace my older 9-inch plush mattress)... hm, what else have I done...

Oh, cried and feeling slight depression from playing "A Street Cat's Tale", because it's about a kitten who finds himself all alone after one day his mom disappeared, and it makes me think of my mom for crazy reasons, and I get teary-eyed remembering the bad endings I got that just was so effing depressing as hell. (And it makes me want to hug my mom and tell her I love her, but she's long since passed away so I can't no more, especially since her cremated remains were taken back to her family's burial plot in the Philippines to be laid to rest next to her parents.)

Hell, I channeled the sorrows and cried tears from playing "A Street Cat's Tale" into a fanfic inspired by the game using My Hero Academia characters. [Link]

Ehhhh I wouldn't say new. Recently asked for my old account to be removed so I could make one that matched my Twitch and Steam's username lol. But I appreciate the warm welcome! And yeah the PW games are getting insane on prices unless you buy the bundle on a newer system. But man that story is rich!

It's my vacation day off and I went out exploring Arizona.

Several yard sales, a garage sale, and two estate sales. Then one yard sale I stopped by a guy was selling his small Neo Geo collection with working NG AES console. A sweet deal for $15. Lucky me no one else was interested in the collection... though he admitted he was trying to get $100, but no one was interested at the high price so when I arrived he had lowered the price down to $20.

Haggled five dollars off citing, "How do I know the console still works?"

Then I stopped by Fallout Games. Found a rare Super Famicom game called "Tengai Makyou Zero". Then I returned home after being out for half the day just to test the NG console. Console does indeed work.

The .hack//G.U. series (Rebirth, Reminisce, and Redemption) were amazing to play back then. And also there's ".hack//INFECTION" and the other three in order: ".hack//MUTATION", ".hack//OUTBREAK", and ".hack//QUARANTINE". And though it's very rare to find nowadays, the Atelier Iris series.

But because I have both a US PS2 (having recently replaced my broken slim version with the fat version) and a JP PS2 (fat version in Sakura Pink color), I also got Japanese-import PS2 titles like "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Lost Colors", "Cowboy Bebop: Tsuioku no Serenade", and the Galaxy Angel games. Oh, and finally Namco × Capcom (because it had Rock and Roll in their Rockman DASH incarnations in the game).

Yeah, most of my recs are anime-based. :D

Though, at the least, if you don't mind trophy collecting, the G.U. series has a PS4 port of the three titles in a single disc called ".hack//G.U. Last Recode"... Which I had just bought off Amazon when I found Last Recode for a sale price of only $17.85. I need to stop buying cheap games... XD

So I found and bought "Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition" for the Switch. Cheap for $20 on Amazon under a -60% discount. But then when I lurked the Nintendo eShop, I found it for cheaper at -80% the digital $49.99 price. But I like having a physical copy of the game, if I can find 'em. I wanted to get the games for PS4... but the first title is still out of stock (as of this post) and the other I don't feel like buying until I could get both titles (and in new condition instead of used).

But I've been wanting to have an increase in physical Switch titles on my shelf, so ultimately I'm not complaining. :P

On an unrelated note: I finally replaced my US PS2 Slim with the fat PS2 bought off Amazon so I can return to play some of my favorite PS2 titles. :D

Although it was said that a FEW titles stack. Shovel Knight stacks their trophy list on both console versions, and Vita, too. But it's kinda difficult to get an accurate list of PS3 titles that have stackable trophy lists on PS4.

Woo. Got me a slew of PS4 games (mostly to celebrate my own b-day). Re-acquiring Tales of Zestiria has led me to discover the PS4 trophies don't stack with the PS3 version. Bah~ D:

For me: 1 "Nintendo Wii" (USA Region, White, 32GB SD Card), 1 "Nintendo Wii" (JP Region, Black, 16GB SD Card). I got all me games on the cards. I don't hardly have any WiiWare and VC titles directly on the Wii. The only things I do are all the save file data and such from all the games I play still today.

Not to mention today regular SD cards are cheap to get, unlike back then when they were very expensive the higher the gig size you wanted. And for the best SD card brand, try the "Onn" brand of SD Cards. They've never failed me yet.
I'm still short.
