Finally got PSO running on the private server. Works excellent. I played with a really great party tonight. If you're interested, I can hook you up with the information on how to connect to the server. Took me less than 10 minutes.

Yes, PSO is excellent. I don't play online yet, but I would like to if I can find a GameCube broadband adapter. I've been looking into the SCHTHACK private server. I was really enjoying my RAcast, which used to be my main- until I tried out a RAmarl. Both have their advantages, but the ability to use techniques really helps. Been playing with a friend (HUcast) currently, so it's great to be able to heal and buff him. Working towards Ultimate since I've never been past Hard.

I'll let you know how the server thing goes if I get it working. If you'd be interested, it'd be cool to have another person in the group and I'm pretty sure you'd be able to use your high level characters.

Catherine is absolutely gripping. I didn't think I'd enjoy the puzzle sections, but they were surprisingly fun and addictive. I could definitely see where some people would dislike that aspect of the game, but I LOVED it.

Furthermore, the story, characters, and music kept me interested the whole way through. Gonna play again shortly. As you might think, the game IS very strange, but that's Atlus for you and I usually hold Atlus games in pretty high regard.

Thanks! I'm loving the job, even though it feeds .

I tried a bit of the Sailor Moon game. Seemed good and I think I might play it if I ever see the rest of the series. Pretty curious about Rudra no Hihou and Live A Live, but I've yet to try them.

I've actually been getting into the cartridge reproduction scene lately. A little expensive, but I love that I can play some of these fanslations on my consoles. Tales of Phantasia, Star Ocean, Mother, and Mother 3 are several of the games on my list to get done.

I know what you mean about translations never getting done on games you'd like to play. I have ALWAYS wanted to play Marvelous: Mōhitotsu no Takarajima (Marvelous: Another Treasure Island) ever since I saw a feature on it in a magazine. Here we are, fifteen years later and it still hasn't been translated into English. Might just give in and play it in Japanese.

Sorry for the late reply. Started a new job recently and I've been neglecting my Multitap a bit.

I would definitely like to play Romancing SaGa 3 at some point. I really enjoy playing new 8-bit and 16-bit games and as those get progressively more rare as the years pass by, I've taken to exploring fan translations recently. They're surprisingly good; better than the official translations in many cases!

Are there any other old-school SaGa games with English patches that you're aware of? Or for that matter, any decent fan translated games you could recommend in general?

When any of the following were available, I used to almost exclusively use a team of the main character, Gen (Swords), Fuse (Guns), Emelia (Fighting), and Rouge (Magic). Last time I went through, I really tried to work on a little variation though and it was enjoyable.

Hm, other SaGa games? While I love what I've experienced of the series, the extent of my familiarity with it is SaGa Frontier, SaGa (Final Fantasy Legend), and SaGa 2 (Final Fantasy Legend 2). I'd love to play the older SaGa games back on the Super Nintendo and such, but haven't gotten around to it. Perhaps I should do that soon?

If I were to really stretch I would also include Final Fantasy 2 (Famicom version), since its dev team had Akitoshi Kawazu, the creator of the SaGa games. Have you ever played it? Everyone I've talked to says they hated it, but I absolutely love it.

Haha, talk about a tough decision. I played SaGa Frontier obsessively throughout my youth and honestly, I loved all of the characters! Each of them had something unique to offer.

Story-wise, I thought that Red, Asellus, Emelia, and T260G had the best of the bunch. Blue, Lute, and Riki were certainly good in their own right, but at times were a little too open-ended.

Character-wise, I was particularly fond of Red, Asellus, T260G, and Lute's personalities. Fuse and Gen are also personal favorites who are almost always included in my parties.

Gameplay-wise, I most enjoyed playing as Blue, Emelia, T260G, and Riki, since the level of customization available to them was greater than that of the other characters (Riki in particular really grew on me after I got the hang of using monsters properly).

If I were really forced to be more specific though, I'd probably say that Red and Asellus are my overall favorites. I was kind of bummed that I couldn't keep Asellus in Red's storyline. Fuse would DEFINITELY stand a chance of being my favorite IF the dev team had been able to include his story...

Thanks for the info on Shadow Hearts: From the New World. I enjoyed the first hour of play and have been fairly interested in the series, so I definitely would like to give it a shot sometime in the future. There are just so many games to in my collection that I feel overwhelmed sometimes.

Anyway, I see that SaGa Frontier is one of your favorite games! That's always been a personal fave of mine. Do you have a favorite character to play as?
I buy games just to look at them... mmm pretty shrink wrap.
