Just an update in case anyone happens to still have me in their multitap. Don't worry. I'm not dead. I don't stream much anymore due to awful internet, and I barely play anything other than Final Fantasy XIV, so I haven't really felt the need to update much. That said, I do miss hanging out here and commenting on your gaming exploits. I've been meaning to be on more, but school is killing me and my brain is scattered.

Soooo I finally got around to watching (and finishing) Season 4 of Justified. That was actually really good! I always like it when there's a couple of different plot threads that tie together in the end. But yeah, a lot better than what I was expecting, probably tied with S2 for my favorite now. Though Augustine was kind of a boring Big Bad.

That said, I'm still gonna put off Season 5 for a while, I think. Firstly, because everyone agrees that it's the worst season by a lot, apparently. And secondly, because Season 6 isn't on Amazon Prime and probably won't be for a while, so I have to pace myself out.

Ha, maybe not then! I guess YMMV regardless. I've actually cleaned up almost everything else I was watching at the moment, so I might get into Season 4 a bit sooner than initially anticipated now! Though I'll probably be pacing myself out a bit more between seasons this time, depending on how I feel at the end of it. Good to hear about the finale though! Do you think you'll go back to the earlier stuff ever, or are you not going to bother?

Ah, I see. Well, I guess in that regard I have to recommend to not get too attached to Community, unfortunately. I started watching around mid-way through Season 2, and I have to say the first two seasons are some of my favorite comedy ever. But Season 3, while still really good for the most part, starts to show signs of fatigue, and Season 4 onwards gets pretty bad... I'm still reluctant to continue S6 now, but I guess I've already come this far.

Eh, Better Call Saul was decent. I'm actually glad they didn't get too interconnected with Breaking Bad to the extent it might have felt like pandering, and the plot ended up better than I expected. Buuuuut, I guess I was expecting more courtroom drama from the original synopsis, and the supporting cast was kind of weak. It reminded me more of Halt and Catch Fire (also meh-good) than Breaking Bad, really. The good news is it still has plenty of time to improve, especially since it seems they're taking the Justified route and making each season standalone as opposed to Breaking Bad's one big long story.

Ha! No unfortunately, as I was expecting I got pretty burnt out from kinda-binging it, so I've only managed to get up to the end of Season 3 before needing a break. And I've also heard that Season 4 is where things start to drag a bit, which isn't super encouraging. I will continue with it at some point, but it'll probably be a while now. I've heard nothing but good things about the finale though, so sounds like you're in for a treat!

Have you watched any of Season 6 of Community? I thought it started off surprisingly great, but has kind of just gone downhill from there... I haven't gotten around to watching the most recent two episodes yet, but based on the way each episode is worse than the last so far, I'm kind of scared to.

True, but looking further into it, that was leaked almost half a year ago, with no information since. And further, they'll probably end up releasing it at full price, or at least in the $40-50 range. At this point I'd probably be better off just getting a used copy.

Well I know Heavy Rain had a lot of endings, which is to say like three, with minor variations depending on which characters lived or died to the end. And even still, almost all of those could be gotten with minimal replay since the timeline automatically adjusts itself based on your choices. But since Beyond has only a single protagonist... I can't imagine there being more than a handful of endings max.

Riiight?! I'm usually not a huge fan of procedurals (had to quit Burn Notice after 4 seasons or so), but Justified has just the right balance of mixing procedural with serialized storytelling that I don't mind much, and they're surprisingly interesting stories to boot! Of course, it certainly helps that Raylan is pretty much the most charismatic (though surprisingly morally gray at times) protagonist one could ask for in a Noir-Western-Thriller. I'm not one to binge shows much, but I just might make it to Season 6 before it wraps up, which I guess is good and bad.

I suppose it might be worth it now since I can likely find it for $10 at some point. I think what happened was I heard a rumor about a possible PS4 port (since Last of Us came out around the same time and got one), and then pretty much forgot about it. The real problem is that David Cage narratives tend to have really cool premises ruined by pretentious writing and lackluster execution (both Indigo Prophecy and Heavy Rain, at least). I guess since we have pretty similar taste in storytelling though (in TV, at least), so I should probably take your word for it and give it a try!

On that note, I just started watching Justified and HOLY CRAP SO GOOD. And I'm apparently not even at the "good part" yet, just finishing up Season 1. My Breaking Bad replacement has arrived!

Wow, you really liked Beyond Two Souls, huh? I know it got pretty ravaged by critics, though I'm sure it was mostly for the gameplay part, since I didn't love the demo myself either (in which nothing happened). As a not huge David Cage fan, would you still recommend it?

Here's to killing more of the backlog next year, eh? You finding Final Fantasy XIV lots of fun?

I expect Bayonetta to be absolutely ridiculous given how it's Platinum Games, and I've already had a taste of their insanity with MadWorld on the Wii.

That and it's a Hideki Kamiya game, the guy made Viewtiful Joe and Okami, I'm confident it will be a quality experience as well!

Aww yeah, Herc's Adventures. I was so excited when that popped up on PSN. It was one of my earliest PSX games, but a friend scratched my disc when I loaned it to him, so it always froze near the beginning. Such a hard game to find a copy of too.
