That's great to hear! I'm glad you were able to find the laggy part of the setup, it can be quite maddening trying to find it.

DJMAX Respect's timing is pretty strict, it definitely takes some getting used to. And there aren't any equip-able items to help out like the PSP games! x_X

Another curious difference between the PS4 and PC version is that PS4 requires 98% for an S, but PC only requires 97%

I had a really hard time learning to play it on keyboard after using controller for so long (You can use a controller on PC just fine, and I did for quite a while), but now that I've adjusted I finally prefer it. I play on 8-button mode, so I don't have to dance around as much and it's a bit easier to press more than two notes at a time now.

The incredible downside to the PC version is that it requires an internet connection, it's an always online game I think it's fairly easy to crack and fix that, but I haven't looked into it myself. It's a bit more of a live service type game, it does seasons where you can optionally buy a premium 'clear pass'. There is a free and premium reward for each level, so you still unlock stuff on the free one, but the ultimate reward is a new theme and that's only on the premium track.

Apart from that, I think the only main difference for the PC version is 'Air Mode' (which replaces Arcade Mode). It randomly picks songs (you can pick a 5 star sliding difficulty range) and it will just continuously pick songs one after another. The nice thing is that it will pick songs that you don't own DLC for, so you can play them there you just can't really choose to play them whenever you want. Kind of like a radio, which I guess is why the call it Air Mode. You can't progress the Clear Pass in air mode. You can level up, but I think it only works up to level 100?

You can also type text comments during portions of songs and see what others have previously entered in Air Mode, but I don't think it's actually live multiplayer.

Do you have a favorite song yet? I really enjoy a lot of them, but Mammal from the Cytus pack is probably mine
It's a phenomenal game and I love playing it. Have fun!

I saw your remark about the timing on DJMAX Respect.
Yeah latency in modern equipment can be a real nightmare for rhythm games!

Game Mode on a TV will turn off a lot of the image processing/enhancement stuff that slows things down, but it can still vary quite a bit by TV.
Your best bet may be to try and search your model TV online for its "input lag"
Note that this is NOT the same thing as response time, a lot of people conflate the two.

Response time is how fast the pixels physically shift. A low response time would result in smearing or blurriness, perhaps.
But if the pixels can update in 1ms, but still go through 50ms of digital processing before the TV even tells them to shift, it isn't the relevant metric (Input lag is).

Audio latency is also unfortunately a thing. Home audio equipment can occasionally introduce delays too, receivers usually have some kind of 'direct' mode that seeks to minimize it, but it's just like game mode and can vary a lot by device.

Usually optical audio out of a console into audio equipment has the least latency, but these have been dying off with recent generations unfortunately.

The headphone jack on the controller itself isn't too bad, I think it's usually around 25-30ms on PS4/5? but for really sensitive rhythm games like DJMAX you may still be able to notice it.
Standard bluetooth or wireless headphones can be bad (100ms+ for devices I have), but again it will vary by device.

My personal targets are something like 15ms or less for both audio and video.

If you happen to have some old Rock Band equipment laying around, you can use the automatic calibration in those games to tell you your device's latency.

Rock Band 2's guitar has a camera and microphone built-in, it will detect flashes on the screen and then audio tones to tell you the time (in milliseconds) of delay it measured. I still drag out my Xbox 360 and Rock Band 2 for any new screen/audio equipment for exactly this reason lol

It is worth noting that sometimes TV's performance could be different with 1080p vs 4K signals, but usually not by much.

There are some HDMI switch than can strip off audio as well (to say, a 3.5mm or optical audio), but the delay there can also vary by device and it can be a lot of trial and error.

Respect V on PC also has a few song packs that PS4 won't get and they've announced PS4 will miss some collaboration DLC (but still gets the big ones like the V Extensions), if you care about such a thing. Good luck, and have fun!
