No Sale of Personal Information

The Backloggery will not sell, trade, or give away any personally-identifiable information to any third party. We reserve the right to sell, trade, or give away anonymous or aggregate information but do not currently do so.

How We Use This Information

The above information is used to provide certain services on backloggery.com which require it. These include account administration and security, password reset via email, responding to messages sent via our Contact form, and displaying game data and comments submitted by users.

Deleting Your Information

You may close your account at any time from your Options page. Closed accounts may be purged at any time and cannot be recovered. If you need your account and personal information deleted in a more timely fashion, you can request to have your account deleted via the Contact form. Again, be advised, once completed this is not reversible.

No Spam

The Backloggery will not directly, or through a third party, send advertisements to your email address. We may rarely send emails if your account requires your attention for some reason.

Cookies

We employ cookies to track your local computer’s settings such as which account you have logged into. Cookies are pieces of data that sites and services can set on your browser or device that can be read on future visits.

We may use third party web site analytic tools such as Google Analytics on our website that employ cookies to collect certain information concerning your use of our site. Terms of Use

Children prohibited

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) severely restricts what information can be collected from children under 13. For this reason, children under 13 are prohibited from using The Backloggery. Children 13 and over may participate with the permission and guidance of their parent or guardian. Users of all ages are warned not to provide profile information without weighing the risks and benefits, and never to provide their phone number, address or other critical personal data online.

Community

The Backloggery aims to be a friendly, inclusive community for anyone who wants to participate. Bigotry, slurs, harassment, or other personal attacks will not be tolerated. Do not use the comment system to spam.

How to deal with abuse

If you dislike interacting with a specific user, we recommend using the block feature to keep them from contacting you. If the offending user attempts to circumvent the block, they immediately qualify for a ban on any and all accounts they use and the Backloggery staff should be contacted immediately. If a user displays extremely vile behavior, please contact the staff immediately using the Contact form.

Automated Input and Retrieval

Except by permission or through an authorized API (none of which currently exist), you may not add to or query your profile automatically.

Empty accounts

We may delete accounts with no games after three months.

Intended Use

The Backloggery is a video game website and may not be used to list other forms of media, including but not limited to movies and music.
