-- Man, that's a lot of classes if you're just going to have a 4-person unchangeable party in an NES-style turn-based RPG. I find in a situation like that it'd be better to do it some other way -- like a non-locked party a la Dragon Quest 3, or just 4 set characters whom you can change into these classes at will a la Final Fantasy 3/5 or alter the way they permanently grow a la Breath of Death/Cthulhu Saves the World. Or maybe something all unique and to yourself, but it sounds like too robust a class system to do a 4-person locked-party style like FF1.

Really this is the kind of concept that'd have been perfect for BYOND (google it if you're interested), a really neat system for making your own 8-16ish bit games that you could then host online, where RPGs reigned king -- but these days it's all but dead. The most popular games on it tended to be Dragon Quest or FF knockoffs or even straight-up fangames, that used this classic style you're into, robust class systems and turn-based combat. Right now, the de facto game on BYOND is Nestalgia, a huge loveletter to old Dragon Quest games and even BYOND fangames thereof, that has a style like that, but went the route of being completely devoid of any copyright material and is wholly custom (which is kinda a great thing considering all fangames have been taken down from being publically viewable on the BYOND site anymore, effectively dealing the final blow to the community). It's on Steam Greenlight actually, even, lol. But yeah tl;dr; This WOULD HAVE BEEN awesome for that system but now I'm not sure if you should even bother. But it might be something to look into, a bit.

Otherwise, just do like Zeboyd Games and release it on XBLA/steam for like $3 or less and roll in the dough. Seriously, Breath of Death and Cthulhu are like some of the simplest, most straightfoward games ever, with some funny-ish humor but nothing worth getting out of your chair over, and a LOT of really lame design choices that the director freely admits to being too lazy/not having enough time to do better int he developer commentary thing you can turn on in the game. They're really quite pathetic, yet somehow inherently charming and I've put surprising time into completely 100%ing Cthulhu (Breath can be done in an afternoon). So if you made something similar with actual TLC it'd blow people away.

I'm so, so close to 'ing that game, though... damn.
