Tatsuya does seem to be suitable as a tank haha. I rarely dumped any stats into LUC, as I don't think it'll help too greatly. Much better to have stats dumped into STR and VIT where I can deal damage and survive with Tatsuya.

Moved forward and just finished Mt Iwato (wow, that is a massive turning point in the story). Glad to know that someone thinks the same as I do as well with personas in that negotiating is probably a better option rather than constant levelling, although I am starting to see a bit of a gap and need to resort to fusion spells (specifically pegasus strike) to survive. Still, it's nice to see that they level up several times over on defeating a particular boss ^_^.

Hey Mayadome, I've been extremely slow with Persona 2 and am only up to the part where Lisa is the third member of a new pop star group (from my recollections) due to rumours circulating about her being the third member.

I've been really taking my time on this and only playing it on the train for an hour or so each day - with studies + work + other games I've been taking it a lot more slowly. I haven't seen a pic of Lisa's dad yet whilst playing the game. I googled it and found a pic though and thought OMG uncanny resemblance lol.

At the moment I'm navigating my way through a park. I'm really enjoying the story as well. It keeps you wondering about what's happening next and you push forward wanting to know. I need to set aside more time for this

I'm still trying to figure out some of the mechanics but I'm getting the hang of it now. Wish I knew about the start button myself! I found the combats go really slow as well and take forever to complete - thanks for mentioning the start button. I'm also one of those that experiment and play the game immediately rather than read the manual, only to find out that it would've been better to read the manual first after trying to figure something out for a few minutes

How have you found obtaining personas in this game? Do they take a long time for you? I still have a couple of the original personas from the very beginning but I've been slowly negotiating a lot more to obtain more tarot cards in an attempt to get new personas and found myself a little low on levels because of this, although the new personas assist to some extent. Not sure if I'm negotiating enough or too much. As long as I can progress it shouldn't be a problem I guess.

Never played the other SMT games other than Persona so I'm not sure - thinking of getting them, although I don't have quite as much free time as I used to . I was also surprised when they dealt so little damage haha! I thought 1-2 points of damage? I'm invincible! It's probably their way of easing players into the game before slaughtering them xD.

I figured out a few things (I think)... not sure whether you've figured them out but I'll tell you what I know.

I've formed quite a few pacts as well only to realise that pacts are limited. Had to discard a few along the way to make room for new pacts. My understanding is that pacts allow you to get extra stuff if you befriend them again (money, items and information).

Summoning cards I think allow you to get extra persona when you enter the Velvet Room which you can then attach to your characters so they can use them. I think each character in P2 is like the MC of P3 and P4 in that they can use different persona and aren't limited to a single persona (but not change them constantly). You also have to watch out for affinity and relationship between character and persona, just to make it more complicated .

Ranking them up unlocks more abilities for the persona, much like levelling them up, although their level stays the same by the looks of it, which is weird.

Story so far is alright. It's interesting and drawing me into the game. Much darker as you said and the way the game plays at the moment is quite different to the other Personas. There's a couple of things unlike other games I've played before which makes it interesting, especially the rumour system.

It's always interesting to see how the previous games differ from the more recent ones. I just came off playing P3 portable and jumped into it. The combat system seems quite complicated . Playing it on the harder difficulties doesn't really help either haha, although I've always enjoyed a bit of a challenge. Let me know how you go with this game - perhaps assist each other if we get stuck...

To be honest I've only played a couple of hours of it. I was really hyped about it but have only just gotten around to playing it .
Anyway I haven't played enough to judge but I'm not impressed so far. Hopefully once I get into the story I'll keep you posted.

I notice you seem to be a PAL gamer from looking at your PS2 games. You can change your default options in the settings so that all future games added will default to that.
