Yeah, none of the games in that Mana Project series, or whatever it was called, had numbers. I couldn't care less about Mana lore, but it makes sense that they didn't because they're all prequels or side stories. Children, Heroes, and Dawn. I've played some of Heroes and Dawn, too.

Heroes is a RTS (DS). I haven't gotten far enough with it to judge it, but so far I've enjoyed it. One review I read said the poor pathing makes some of the later boards near impossible.

Dawn (PS2) is a 3D dungeon crawler, more or less. Like in Children, you can knock things around to hit enemies. That could have been so badass! But it failed. So many of the levels were like playing billiards on a football field. I actually liked the idea of starting each level with your stats reset, though most people hated it.

As someone who finished Children of Mana a few weeks ago (and gave it one star), it doesn't matter whether you remember much about it. There's next to no story, and you can sort out the controls with the manual or GameFAQs if you need to.

If nothing else, it's easy to given a RPG's worth of time investment. This slowpoke of a player spent 30-35 hours on it, which means a normal person could probably knock it out in 20.

Blah, I need to trim down my now-playing list. Everyday I'm gonna do a Fortune Cookie and play whatever game comes up for a few hours. I'm gonna try and refrain from playing any new games as much as possible.
