Consider Yourself a Hero: Majority of games are beaten
Treasure Hunter: 1000+ games
On Fire: 3 beat or complete in a row
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is also a ton of fun so far. I'm not sure if you've ever played Donkey Kong Country Returns on the Wii, but it improves upon that game in every possible way. And this is coming from someone who's not a fan of Donkey Kong Country games. I'm probably one of the only people who doesn't enjoy the SNES games. Returns is a pretty good game though, but Tropical Freeze really blows it out of the water so far. The level and game design is just so much more creative and intuitive, and it's so much more accessible by providing you with plenty of lives and more useful partners to help you out.

I can't really comment on Sonic Lost World since I haven't played much of it yet. It's not a huge reason to own the console. I'm just a fan of Sonic, and I bought it cheap on sale for $29.99. Haha.

The Wii U eshop also has access to some great games, like Cloudberry Kingdom and Bit.Trip Runner 2, but those games are also available on PS3/360. Although, do try Mighty Switch Force HD on the shop. I love the 3DS version, and the Wii U version looks even better. It's a really fun puzzle/platformer.

Other games currently out on the Wii U that are worth it, according to others, are The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Rayman Legends (I have the PS3 version, and it's awesome), Pikmin 3, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed, Nintendoland and Zombie U. I can't really comment on the games except for vouching that Sonic racing, Wind Waker and Rayman are amazing, due to having played other versions.

Games that I'm really looking forward to are getting Mario Kart 8 on day one (I'll gladly play with you if you decide to get it), Super Smash Bros (I'll probably get it next year, due to my limited budget with the baby), Bayonetta 2, X (the spiritual sequel to Xenoblade), Yarn Yoshi, Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem, and The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Warriors, as well as an eventual traditional Zelda title for the Wii U.

So there is quite a bit to look forward to on the Wii U for me, and I appreciate the slower trickle of releases because I can't afford too many games at this point. But I notice you never beat too many Wii games, so I'm not sure if the Wii U is for you. But like I said, if you like platformers, action/adventure games, local multiplayer (or online Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros), or have an interest in many of the games I mentioned, by all means, give it a shot. Just be patient for those new releases.

Thanks for the congrats dude. I'm absolutely ecstatic for the news.

As for the Wii U, it all depends on what kinds of games that you want to play. If you're into platformers, action/adventure games and local multiplayer titles, the Wii U is for you right now. Most of the games that I happen to currently own are platformers, such as New Super Mario Bros U & New Super Luigi U, Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze, and Sonic: Lost World. I also own The Wonderful 101.

I've beaten Super Mario 3D World with my wife, and it's a really fun platformer with a wealth of content. Co-op is plenty of fun, but it comes with occasional rage as it's really easy to pick up partners by accident, causing many unwanted deaths. However, even after beating 8 or 9 worlds, we didn't even grab all of the green stars, and there's still 3 or 4 whole secret worlds left to discover, so that will last a long time if you're planning to do everything in the game. New Super Mario Bros U is a similar experience, but in 2D of course. The good thing about the game is that you can't pick up others easily, but it's a less inspired game than 3D World. Still a lot of fun though. I got Mario and Luigi U as a pack-in with the Wii U.

The Wonderful 101 was the Wii U defining experience for me, as it just OOZED with creativity and charm. It's truly the most original IP on the console, so it's the most memorable for me. While you could try a demo online, I heard the demo does a terrible job of showing what an awesome game it is though. However, it comes with a stiff learning curve at first (it almost caused me to rage quit by the first boss). To alleviate any frustration, I would HIGHLY recommend playing on Very Easy for your first playthough (it's still challenging on that setting), buying Unite Guts and Spring from the shop first and learning how to use them, and as you get money, fully load up on healing items and use your mixer option in the menu to use ingredients to make more healing items (you can also replay the first stage for easy money if you need items). While the game doesn't really hold your hand, things do click after a bit and then it becomes COMPLETELY AWESOME. It plays like a cross between Pikmin, Viewtiful Joe, Bayonetta, and Okami (Okami with the drawing shapes to activate powers-mechanic). The best thing is about how over-the-top this game is. The boss fights are truly larger than life, and you'll remember them for the rest of your days.
