in re: Kya... I shouldn't be freaking out about someone who was a kid in the PS2 era, time marches on and all that.

But, oh yeah, the game. Maybe it isn't bad. But I gave up in disgust when something that should have been a few seconds of platforming ended up being a 20-minute ordeal, and as far as I could tell, it was the physics, not me. Then I died a little ways later and would have to do that platforming segment again. I gave it back to my brother unfinished, but if it were my game it would have been snapped in half and thrown in the trash. Well, maybe you'll have better luck with it. G-dspeed.

What do you think of Legaia 2 vs. the first one?

Wheel of Time is quite good in the sound design and graphics department (well, seen from the perspective when it was released in 1999). The story seems to be rather wordy, but it's based on a book series, so...

I've never read Wheel of Time, so I can't judge the canonicity or the setting.

I can only watch the cutscenes on Youtube because of various bugs, and the game itself runs fine.

tl;dr I like it so far and it works good enough.

I like playing video games, obviously. Mostly RPGs, of both the Eastern and Western variety. Maybe an action game or platformer in between.

I don't rate games until after I've at least beaten them. When I do, it goes something like this:

1 star: A bad game, plain and simple. Might not even be worth finishing.
2 stars: It's a bad game, but there's at least one or two good things about it; maybe the plot is interesting or the music is good.
3 stars: This game is pretty good! But it's also kind of annoying in certain ways. Something like a battle system that isn't very fun, or a generic, uninteresting plot, or a few characters that are annoying. Etc., etc.
4 stars: A four-star game is pretty kick-ass all around, with maybe one or two gripes at most. For me, there's not a lot of difference between a four-star and five-star game, except...
5 stars: These games are some of my all-time favorites, and one of the few I'm likely to replay. Generally, a game will have to either be amazing or have some kind of personal connection with me to have five stars.

I consider anything above one star worth playing at least once. Music is a big part of how I rate a game; I'll usually be more generous in my opinion of a game if I like its soundtrack. The most important thing, though, is how fun a game is. You don't want to be bored while playing video games, after all.
