Haha, I saw that. I looked up Tetra Master earlier today, because I was looking for the rules, since sometimes cards lose that I think should win and I didn't know what was going on. I ended up staying in Lindblum card battling different people for about 3 hours, I think. Then I spent another hour outside trying to get AP for my weapon ability. I might just get Tetra Master. It's certainly much better than VIII's card game, which made no sense unless you spent 15 hours trying to figure it out. Of course, that's pretty much the case with a lot of stuff in FFVIII, which is much of the reason I didn't like it.

Yep I sent Star Ocean back. I had like no motivation to keep playing it. I stopped not long after that 'kay girl (Lymle) was introduced. Jrpgs on home consoles don't seem to hold my interest too well anymore. Not sure why.

Handheld jrpgs on the other hand, I don't have the same problem with. Etrian Odyssey is a long game but I find the gameplay to be enjoyable. Has basic Dragon Quest combat, first-person view dungeon exploration but the level of customization and the depth of strategy in the game is quite interesting. There is something about it that makes me not mind the grind and slow dungeon crawl-esque progression up the labyrinth. I've been chipping away at it slowly in between study sessions (during study breaks). Makes me look forward to those breaks. lol. Home consoles don't seem suited to small session gaming for me so I tend to choose a handheld game for a study break game. I'll probably temporarily drop it though once Ace Attorney Investigations Miles Edgeworth is out. It's definitely true that Etrian Odyssey is difficult.

As for the shmup, Mushihimesama Futari v1.5 is a Japanese import. I must warn you it's bloody expensive. I paid almost $79 US for it (that price includes the cheapest and slowest shipping option. lol) but I didn't have to pay any tax to the post so that was nice. Seeing as how I didn't pay tax, it ended up being less than $5 more expensive than what we pay for brand new games in Canada. But for a shmup, that is a lot of money. Raiden Fighter Aces is $20 and Raiden IV is like $40. But in Japan they pay full price (7,000 Yen) for shmups whereas we don't so that's why the Japanese import shmups are so expensive. And the kicker is that you have to pay $15 (1200 MS pts) if you want God Mode (Black Label DLC). I decided against it. DLC is such a scam.

I love the game. Pretty addictive. Damn challenging though. Looking at trueachievements.com, only 12% of people with this game 1cc'd the arrange modes, 5% 1cc'd v1.5 original mode (13/288 gamers), 1% (3/288 gamers) 1cc'd maniac, and only 1 gamer on that site out of 288 unlocked the True Final Boss (requirement: 1cc ultra mode). lol. Balls to the wall hard. Novice mode seems easy enough though. I 1cc'd that no problem. I'm trying to focus on the easier achievements since it's obvious that I won't be 1cc'ing arrange or original anytime soon. lol.

I liked Shadow the least out of them too, but the game is still decent, and I like the multiple paths you can take.

Surely you have enough healing items / abilities to sort that one out? What's your final team? You know which order to attack Lavos? Always have a healer character in the backline ready to act, don't waste time with using them for attacking. You should only unleash your powerful attacks on the right pod once it lowers its defences. Left pod you attack with physical attacks. Ignore the main form until the pods are dead but you can still get it with powerful magics like flare, luminaire and such once the left pod is out.
