Hm... sounds tough but doable. I tend to be very gung-ho about completionism, so I tend to avoid games if I'm not 1000% happy about playing them. Which is... a weird thing but I guess it makes sense.

Mercenaries wasn't that bad! Village II and Castle II were by far the hardest, Factory II throws so much money at you that you can easily get the magnum and grenade launcher both and laugh all the way to the bank slaughtering everything for SSS Rank. Mad Village II is actually a joke/gift run - if you keep your combo up through the entire first and second zones, you basically just survive to the end of third zone (even if you don't kill everything) and you get it 100%, it's about 900-912k to get SSS Rank. I ended up clearing all the way to the final zone, killed a couple enemies, and died, and ended up with 1,460k.

Yeah, I played the demo and it seemed really fun but I wasn't sure if it was the usual Ubisoft formula where it's kind of repetitive same-y stuff all over the map. I'm glad to hear it's pretty solid. So to that end, I'll keep it on the list for when they eventually do the Game of the DLC Edition, haha. Cheers!

Hey thanks! Thought I'd play catch up with the MSQ before Endwalker drops at the end of the year but time is so tight at the moment and I need to get to IL490 before I can play the newest dungeon so hit a slight roadblock in my plans already

Really wanna try out Reaper when Endwaker drops!! feels like it's straight out of Dark Souls / Bloodborne with the costume design and move set.

The music section just turned into every possible ShB song I could fit on honenstly lol it's one of my all time favourite soundtracks with Lakeland easily being one of my Top 10 songs ever.
I've actually been working on a top 25 OST list for BL since January so hopefully I'll upload that one day in the future with a musical theme to go along with it.

PS just read that the save transfer process for FFVIIRI is live and it involves logging into the PS4 version to upload your save data It's so close now!!!

Fair, fair. Yeah, I'm leaning getting DMC5 first and just reading up on the story, because I'm not super keen on having to go through a bunch of games in compilation to get to the one I'd really like to play, even if it's usually how I tend to play these sorts of "backlog" franchise sets. I do like to get 100% in games, and I'm seeing a lot of fuss about how it's apparently a damn near impossible platinum / difficulty in general on the hardest stuff, so I might as well ask. I'm not a bad gamer by any means (I am very very efficient and have a higher end skill level, and am VERY persistent... but I also have no experience and tend to be very straightforward in these games, which may be to my detriment (as opposed to doing potentially flashy stuff). Any input?

Also on the note of Village: it's really great, but man, the final Mercenaries stages are just kind of unfun relative to the first few. They require pitch perfect play because while the first four stages you can buy different guns and items, and enemies are roughly "normal" level? The second four are the same stages, with the same spawns, but the enemies are significantly tougher, put you into dying state with one hit, and you only get a pistol, option to buy magnum (no ammo drops/purchase), nade launcher (can do both), and some explosives. It makes it infinitely harder, but the rank requirements are much lower - to the point you can actually even skip enemies or outright die and still hit SSS Rank. So far I've gotten 1-5 down, with 5 being the first of the harder stages, but it's kind of an exhausting slog figuring out optimal enemy spawns and trying to minmax it, esp. since abilities matter a lot (namely getting +pistol dmg abilities). But we shall persevere!

EDIT: Oh, also, how you liking Fenyx? I've been waffling on it since I kinda want a Game of the DLC Edition to come out physically first.

I'm happy to hear that Immortals Fenyx Rising is a good time. I tried the demo out on Switch a while ago and had a pretty good time with it. Admittedly, I probably should have played it on a stronger platform to make the most of it, but the game had a pretty solid foundation. Maybe it'll be something I save for playing on PS5 eventually.

Yeah, I'm excited to go back to Returnal after I finish nolifing Village (which is also fantastic, haha). I only have to clear the survey stuff (basically collectibles, RNG spawning which is the only detractor), completing one of the daily challenges, and then getting a certain spoiler thing from postgame in the last zone. Beyond that, I guess I could level gun traits but there's no real reason to, same with killing enemies ad infinitum to get the encyclopedia thing maxed out.

I actually got recommended to do the polar opposite and just start with DMC5, though this someone else also said DMC2 and DmC both bad / skip. I'm a bit torn because I don't mind playing older games, but I don't understand why 2 is so hated??

Apologies for the later reply! Work just taking over again....
Village was fantastic thanks! Yeah it's my first time owning a RE game as I used to go to my friends house and watch them play! RE2 has been recommended to me so many times at this point it's deffo going to be my next game I buy regarding RE (same with RE3 though i've heard this one is a big disapointing?)

Yeah i'm looking forward to 4 as that was my introduction to the series on GameCube (fingers crossed we'll get some news at E3 about that and it's not just the VR version)

YUP! finally went back to Demon's Souls and compleated it last night - I got half way through originaly and was just in the perfect mood recently to play it again. Though you can deffo see it's limitations vs Sekiro and Bloodborne its a fantastic game with a great community!

Just curious but what did you think of Nier. I've seen a lot of people finish ending A then drop it on BL just not feeling it or missing Papa? I just find path B so depressing just hearing what the shades think is heartbreaking! I'm about half way through so making good progress but still... it's so heavy haha

Returnal really depends on your love of roguelites. I don't play many, but Returnal's gameplay loop is very, VERY satsifying. It's also one of the best written games I've played in years, especially because it's so difficult to do a story with elements of cosmic horror and personal trauma and have it feel genuine and real. Can't say much else!

Did I ask you about Devil May Cry already? I can't remember the people I've talked to these days. I'm debating if I wanna grab DMC5 and play it and kinda forego the rest of the franchise, which is a rarity for me.

Thank you for the add!

I *ALMOST* bought DMC HD Collection for myself yesterday night but decided not to since my backlog is already so massive, lol.

I can see we're both on the tomestone grind for the Mog event.. I got the Shinryu dog already but now I'm just farming out the Dancing Mad orcehstrions along w/ the Ronkan ring.. There's a lot of nice goodies in the event this time around so definitely worth farming. How are you liking WHM? I'm a healer main so I'm always curious to see how others feel about playing the healer jobs.
