Priorities List:
1. Finish high priority games.
2. Trim the fat from the collection (PS4→PS3→Steam).
3. Playing over purchases; stick to tight list of game pick-ups.
4. Integrate more co-op into rotation.
I backlog what I own. I own what I want to play. Seperate entries of the same game are treated as distinct from one another and have their own unique statuses, to encourage playing through acquisitions of these repeat titles. When all are beaten, those that will not be completed are nulled.
On my 10th Backloggiversary I commited to a specific purchase and play plan for my collection, revised for my 15th Backlogging year:
{1} Physical if possible, unless titles are egregiously expensive and/or difficult to acquire.
{2} Digital storefront hierarchy: Sony (primary), Steam (secondary), Nintendo / Microsoft (exclusives, multiplayer copies).
{3} Ownership of a title is justification enough for whatever method I choose to play the game. Engaging with the game in that exact version is unnecessary, so long as it is owned and a part of the collection.
{4} Focus primarily on what I own while buying few and borrowing even less.
{5} Game purchases must have merit beyond cheap prices or sales. The enthusiastic desire, that burning passion in one's chest, should be the primary motivator over low cost. This is reflected on my Wishlist; more stars denotes greater desire.
