Definitely will let you know once I finish X8! I've only played a couple stages so far, so there's a lot to still discover and be impressed and/or confused by.

When ya go through the dams, you'll find equipment that, when used in battle, will make the game so much easier. One of them uses Gires and another uses Deban. Keep this in mind. It's the thing that made it easier to do my Solo Rolf challenge a few years back.

I'm glad; I get a lot of mileage out of that thing. The Sweaters are goin' all the way this year.

I absolutely loved Phantasy Star; it's weird, because I didn't have it back in the day, even though I had a Master System in the '80s, but when I played it in 2003, I was still really impressed with it. I excitedly sat down to play 2, and... it took me at least 3 tries to finish the game, and I don't think I even got to the first dungeon with the first 2. Eventually, I just decided I was going to finish the game, no matter what, and I was pleasantly surprised at what was waiting for me on the other side, so I figured I'd encourage you if I could. I did a similar thing with the Herakles no Eikou series; the first game was... just fucking BAFFLING. So bad I wrote my own hex editing guide from scratch, even; you can find it at GameFAQs. I did it for 3 and 4, but 2 wasn't bad; it's a pretty generic Dragon Warrior knockoff.

To be honest, I never did get that last achievement, but I also didn't try for it that much. After I got the endings I was pretty satisfied with what I'd done. The postgame stuff seemed kind of unnecessary So cool that you enjoyed the game though!
