Ohmigod I know, right? It was amazing and I'm so glad it actually met my expectations. I was worried that I was going to be disappointed, but it definitely came through for me.

Hey I know what you mean. I've had some problems for a while now. This year I just decided to buckle down on several projects and actually make progress with them. Clearing games is really just one of many things I've been putting off for way too long. This year is going really well overall so far.

Why thank you sir. Glad to have a year where I'm doing well so far! Hopefully I won't ruin it.

It's funny... when it comes to love-it-or-hate-it games, which Assassin's Creed III appears to be, I feel like one of the few who sorta just falls in the middle. That's feeling like the case with ACIII, for me. I'm definitely enjoying it. The engine running on PS3 is a noticeable improvement over previous games (in my opinion anyway). The NPCs also somehow feel more "lively" to me. But I'm not so sure what to think of the game that they've built around these technical improvements.

I think it's pretty gutsy just how many hours they spent on the setup... a really long time before Connor is even in Assassin's garb. Personally, I thought all that was pretty cool and that the story setup was very worth it, including one of the most fun plot twists I've seen in a long time. I can see how these hours of setup and semi-tutorial would frustrate a lot of people, but it didn't bother me much.

I do feel like the missions aren't really what most people are probably looking for in an Assassin's Creed game... while I do love the rural environments in both this game and the other AC games, I think it's pretty surprising just how much of the game takes place in them. Visits to the cities feel surprisingly uncommon. I feel like the missions and their structure is perhaps a bit too tied up in the story, and providing me with objectives that are ultimately not as interesting as what I might hope for otherwise.

The homestead and money-making aspects aren't nearly as addictive and compelling as they are in say, ACII or Brotherhood. I think I'm kinda missing the point of some parts of that gameplay system, but it's just not as simple and streamlined as I feel it needs to be in this sort of game. I've spent fairly little money anyway... it became very addictive opening shops and buying things to increase overall income in ACII and Brotherhood.

But the story has been fun, and playing the game post-patches has for the most part not been frustrating! I think the combat is overall the best aside from Brotherhood, perhaps. Or at least tied with it. Brotherhood is my favorite, by the way. I'm not super crazy about the series in the first place, but it's been a fun ride for the story, and for the more addictive parts of the gameplay in the series.

A good question. It's certainly interesting. Overall I'm enjoying it I think. These rhythm-games-but-not-really are always kind of hit-or-miss for me though. We shall see.

Whadaya mean 'no progress'. You've got more done than me.
The hell are you looking down here for?
