So I finally buckled down and beat Rodea (the Wii version). Exhausted right now (far past my bedtime), but I can give you my detailed thoughts later, if you want. Just let me know.

The Wii U version is on the eShop. Considering how the Wii U eShop supports digital Wii games, I can't imagine for the life of me why the Wii version isn't also available there. Would be a great way to make extra money since so many people are savvy to how bad the Wii U version is.

Assuming you get the first print version that comes with the original Wii version (the only one that should be available right now, it'll have a sticker that says "bonus game inside" on the front), I think it's great. I haven't tried the Wii U version, but I hear the Wii U and 3DS versions are absolutely butchered from the original game that Yuji Naka made in 2011 (you can look up the details on that mess of a development cycle) and aren't even worth touching.

But the original Wii version, from what I played so far, is a really fun, unique action game reliant on flight and the Wiimote's pointer. Be warned that the graphics are definitely "Nintendo Wii in 2011" (the graphics in the Wii U version is worse than the Wii aside from the resolution, believe it or not) and the story sinfully Sonic-levels of cheesy and childish, but aside from that, I'm really, really enjoying myself.

Normally I'd say wait for a price drop (not sure how much I can recommend the game for $60), but if you do that you probably won't be able to get the Wii version, which is the only version worth playing. So I don't know.
