Good point regarding Final Fantasy VI... Three different releases by my count. Actually though, wasn't IV also re-released for Gameboy Advance and Playstation? That would make five releases! So it would have more than VI.

I've become even more excited to play Disgaea 3, for the Vita, after a comment I received. It will be a while before I actually get it though. I'd rather not overdo/rush the series. I guess that the Vita title contains all of the DLC for the original game and some things taken from the fourth title. Sounds like a good package to me!

I hope that you enjoy Disgaea 4, whenever you get to it!

Did some more thinking about Final Fantasy IV... I'm pretty sure that it was the lack of choice and/or customization with your party that made it boring to me. I would like to, at least, be able to swap characters in and out! Through the whole game, not just towards the end for a few remaining hours. So I don't think it would have mattered if I had played the original release?

I have heard that there are more characters to choose from in The After Years. I think that you're able to switch them out more often too. So maybe I'll have more fun playing that one? I hope so... It will definitely be a while before I feel like continuing with Interlude!

Too bad they didn't decide to do a Final Fantasy VI continuation instead...

Which Disgaea title did you get for the Vita? I think only 3 and 4 were released for Vita... The third one is up next for me! I'm excited for it, especially if it's the one that your friend considers to be one of the best in the series. Makes me more curious about it. It's only twenty dollars for a used, physical copy. So yeah, not too bad in price!

Thank you! It did take a while, but finally beat them both. Disgaea 2 was much more enjoyed than Final Fantasy IV. FF IV became a struggle. I wasn't as interested in it, seemed bland. Maybe because it wasn't very difficult, until the very end...

"I'm looking forward to playing FFIV After Years someday, I just haven't been motivated to replay a game that I have already beat a few times."

So you plan on replaying Final Fantasy IV before The After Years? Sorry, that little bit that I quoted above confused me a tad. I must be tired.

What about Interlude? I don't know a lot about that one... Just that it's rather short, I think, which is fine my me. I just hope that I'm able to get into and enjoy FF IV: TAY. As long as it's far more challenging than IV on PSP, it should be okay. I'm certainly curious about how the story continues.

Maybe you weren't able to get into Disgaea because the timing was bad? It is odd, you not being able to get into it, even though you normally enjoy strategy RPGs. You'll have to maybe try again?

Added Box Boy to the wishlist, just so I don't forget about it. It'll get looked into eventually that way. There's a few already that I've had my eye on for a while, that are playable on Vita. The Vita has surprisingly been able to hold my interest for quite some time now! It's been a long while since I've been into playing anything for the 3DS/DS.

I will try to remember to look into Box Boy. It's not often that I venture into the eShop library. Would you explain it briefly?

For some bizarre reason, RPGs have been calling my name. Hoping to start up Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days once I finish Final Fantasy IV. Or maybe, finally, Corpse Party?

I was in love with Corpse Party when I started it the first time, years ago. Just got stuck! The second is waiting to be played also, since the third releases for Vita just in time for my birthday.

I know that the first three Etrian Odyssey games don't have an in-game time counter. I was only able to tell how long it took me to "finish" them because I played them with my 3DS, then looked at the Activity Log for the stats. Not sure about the fourth title, can't remember... It might.

Even though each game took many, many hours, I almost wish I did continue with the bonus stratum shortly after beating each game. Just because I think I might have some difficulty remembering how I was playing/planning my classes when I return to them. Now, I'll probably have to "reset" them and start with fresh skill trees on each character... Not that big of a deal I guess. You're almost tempting me to go back and play the first bonus stratum finally!

The plan was to go back and play each bonus stratum, in order, after beating the third game. It wasn't that long after starting the first title that the next two were added to my shelf. The plan failed when EO IV released just a few days after I beat the third! It didn't take a whole lot of time for me to become addicted... I think I even played I-IV pretty much straight through.

So far, which isn't very far at all, Etrian Mystery Dungeon doesn't play a whole lot like a regular Etrian Odyssey title. The character art, classes, and skill trees are still there, but that's all I can remember recognizing... Only made it to the second boss in EMD, then put it down for a later date. From what I've read, it sounds like Persona Q is more similar to how EO plays. I was looking into that one myself but decided against it, went with SMT IV instead.

In Dementium II you get health at checkpoints? That could be pretty groovy. There were health/meds laying around in the first title, but sometimes it'd be a long while before you would find any. Or, you'd have to backtrack a ways to find it (and there were respawns)! Are there respawns in the sequel?

The check point system in Dementium was just goofy, but it could also be appreciated as an upper to the difficulty. So I wouldn't say that it "ruined" the game. If you died, you would have to start the whole Chapter over from the very beginning. If you quit your game, you would start up again from the last check point. Towards the end of the game, I came across a way to cheat it though... Just reset the game right before you die!

Well, congratulations on the Etrian Odyssey III beat! It's been so long since I played any of the four, it's difficult to remember them all in detail. Or recall what was from which game... They all sort of blended together into one. I still love them all though and hope for a new one sooner than later! At least there's still four bonus stratums for me to explore.

Are you going to attempt any of the other three EO titles now, or the bonus stratum of the third game? I see that the third is the only one listed on your BL. They do certainly take quite a long time to beat, at least in my case. At least one-hundred hours per game.

I am surely looking forward to playing Dementium II! There's been quite a few occasions that I heard/read that the sequel was much improved. Then again, the only real bothersome thing about the first title, for me, was the saving/checkpoint system. Otherwise, it was great. No idea when I'll get to the second title... I also have Moon for DS, a title by the same people, waiting to be played.

Wow, it has been quite some time since I left a comment here! Hope that you've been well.

I'm not sure exactly how much of a difference the farmer makes, experience gain wise... As soon as I found that ability, I had a farmer in my party at nearly all times!
Sicker than a beef recall.
