☆★★★★ Definitely not my favorite out of the Animal Crossing series. A lot of the item/recipe/color locks in this is really frustrating, or you even get locked into a window of villagers when you're out searching for them on the islands and can get 3 or more reoccurring which is really bothersome with the price of the tickets. Despite my complaints, I do enjoy this game and everything new that was added to the series. Customization and terraforming is definitely superb (aside from the bland furniture).

And yeah, your animation is awesome! I spent a lot of time in Flipnote Studio on my 3DS and while it's a lot of fun, my little bit of experience shows me just how time consuming and difficult of a skill it is. Of course, your content is on a whole other level than anything made in Flipnote!

Surely you ain't hatin' on my boy, Wesker, are you?! If you don't like Wesker, you're either gonna have a bad time with RE5 due to his constant presence, or a great time cause you get to beat him up on multiple occasions!

Glad you told me to hold out on SH3. I never knew it was a direct sequel to SH1 and I don't like to look up too much on games I'm about to play as to avoid spoilers. Looks like I'm gonna start with 2, then play 1 and 3 back-to-back.

Oh man, Terranigma is supposed to be the best game in the trilogy, from what I've seen. The English localization only ever released in Europe, so the easiest way to play it through emulation. If you loved Soul Blazer and Illusion of Gaia and just action RPGs in general, you definitely owe it to yourself to play Terranigma ASAP! And that said, I owe it to MYself to stop being lazy and finally play these games. It's been like a month since I said I'm excited to finally start playing them.

Even without much actual ship exploration, I still love the general seafaring theme, so I'll probably really enjoy Suikoden IV. Also great to hear it's only 30 hours. Long games really intimidate me. For example, I've been holding off on playing Tales of Symphonia due its massive 60+ hour length. And don't even get me started on Xenoblade Chronicles!

Good to hear you like MM and TP. Those games are super special to me. MM was the first Zelda game I played and probably the most influential game I've ever played. It's what showed me how amazing and immersive video games can be in a time when all I played were platformers and Mario spinoffs. As for TP, it was the first game I was ever extremely excited for. I spent years of my childhood daydreaming of when I could finally play it, scouring the internet and my Nintendo Power magazines for scraps of info. The hype train for TP can never be surpassed. It's my ultimate form of nostalgia!

Ironically, the "adult" humor in Conker is actually super immature and probably most appealing to immature preteens. I think you had to play it at a certain age with a certain mindset to really appreciate it. THAT SAID, the Great Mighty Poo segment is still a timeless, iconic gaming moment! [Link]

Hi, sorry for the late reply!

I don't know about the general fanbase, but IV will be difficult to top for me but maybe because is so "archetypical" in its characters and story, especially the protagonist and his development!
KH make my head explodes just thinking about its complex storytelling and the infinite amount of games that are in there I often feel tempted to buy "the story so far" collection, but I always end up demotivated, this series seems a task that I can't handle ahahah

I had some tense memories about that boss too! It's probably the one that make me the most anxious, for the same reasons that you wrote!

For some reasons, speaking about Zelda, I love the weirder ones, too I'd love to replay ALTTP, too. It's been... 10 years, probably, since I played it, and I have a lost of nostalgia for it. Also I have a soft spot for the first one, but maybe it's just the fascination of 8-bit games (music especially). I still have to play Zelda II, damn. I LOVE the concept art for the first Zelda games btw.

Oh, I was wondering, does your avatar come from Shovel Knight? I remember following that game since it was announced on Kickstarter, but in the end I still have to play it x(

My system would probably be really pushing me through the backlog a lot more if I could keep myself from buying more... Ah well.

How do you record your hours for games that don't keep track of it for you? Just a spreadsheet of some kind? I really like the idea of tracking my hours but it intimidates me.

I feel the same way you do with Spyro: Year of the Dragon. The levels and characters are SO nostalgic. I think, overall, it's the one with the best variety, and as you mentioned, the minigames are pretty fun. If Spyro 4 comes to be, I sure would love it to be more like the third than the second and first ones.

Plague of Shadows is a pretty fun chapter too. Out of all four chapters, I think it's the one I end up getting the less attached to, but it still holds the charm you'd expect from Shovel Knight. Enjoy it!

Yeah, the pre-history part of Chrono Trigger was great. Ayla and Robo are easily my favorite to bring into battle since I love the whole prehistoric/futuristic combo. (My heart will always belong to Lucca though.) I'm trying to think of other games with dinosaur related stuff, but other than Turok and Dino Crisis, I'm just coming up with a bunch of RareWare games. Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo-Tooie, and Conker's Bad Fur Day are a dino-fan's dream come true!

I should've mentioned, the movie Dragon Quest: Your Story is actually CGI. It looks very western, like How to Train your Dragon. It looks great though, visually! But definitely play the game before watching it. DQV's story deserves to be experienced firsthand.

By the way, you're an animator?! Your stuff looks amazing!

Random fact: My first experience with Luigi's Mansion is my mom telling me she wouldn't buy the game for me unless I could stand on my head for 10 minutes straight. I made it 11 minutes. It probably has one of the besting endings in video games. It's short, but it's just perfect. The final boss was a real shock too! I didn't expect to see my favorite Mario character decapitated!

I actually like the controls for RE4 so much that I switch RE5's controls to match RE4's even though that's not the default option! Speaking of RE5, it's also really good. It has a lot of haters, but it's a great stupid time nonetheless! It's way better if you're at least familiar with the events of the first game though. Same heroes, same villain.

Definitely gotta play some Silent Hill 2 sometime in the next few months. I usually try to plow through a "spooky" game on Halloween. Last year was Luigi's Mansion and this year was Resident Evil 0. How is the first Silent Hill? Does it still hold up? I guess I gotta play that before SH3. I kinda wanted to play SH3 first for no other reason than that the main character is a mega cutie.

Yeah, Steiner is the best! And also Vivi! I wish they made a Final Fantasy IX-2 that's just about them. Man, this is making me wanna replay FFIX! I'm actually planning on playing Final Fantasy V for the first time soon. Bravely Default is kinda like a spiritual successor to FFV and I liked that game a lot, so I'm excited!

How coincidental that we were just talking about ActRaiser and now Wayo Records just put an official OST for the game up for preorder! The music in that game is incredible, so I was sure to snatch it right up. It even comes with some art hand-signed by the game's composer!

Ah yeah! Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma have been on my wishlist for soooo long! I don't know what's been keeping them from putting them on modern systems. After I finish the batch of games I'm currently playing, I'm gonna finally start this trilogy. Dude, I'm so excited!

You comparing Suikoden IV to Wind Waker just made my interest shoot straight up. I adore Wind Waker with all my heart. I'm playing it for the NINTH time right now. I love pirate themes, sailing, treasure, adventure and all that stuff. That's why I'm playing Skies of Arcadia right now and also why Rogue Galaxy has been on my wishlist for so long. Thanks for reinvigorating my interest in Suikoden. I think I might try the series again sooner than I expected!

I completely understand not feeling eloquent in those little review boxes. Honestly, the thing holding me back from writing them is that I am not sure I can do some of them justice with the character amount allowed. I certainly can for some, but a bunch I have kind of complicated views on.

I find if I do straight marathons I get burned out of the game, so I like to be playing one console and one handheld game at any given time as well. It has been working out pretty well for me! I think I have finished more games this year than basically any other since I developed this system.

Do you get burned out when you do series marathons? Do you play things in between to give yourself a break?

Hi there! Thanks for adding me to your Multitap. You've been playing Spyro, huh? I loved the Reignited Trilogy. I did get a bit tired while trying to 100% the third game, but other than that, I think the gameplay aged very well overall. Out of curiosity, what's your opinion on Spyro 2's Orb system so far? Sometimes I feel freeing dragons/dragon eggs is much cooler

Oh, and cool avatar, by the way. Shovel Knight is a blast, and Specter of Torment was one of my favorite chapters!

Thanks! You have a pretty sweet line up as well. I see you are doing marathons too - I really look forward to your Kingdom Hearts one. I will get to that eventually. I loved the first and second KH games when I was a tween and I would love to revisit them final mix style.

I also really like that you review a lot of the games you have played. I have been thinking about doing that. It is really fun to read your thoughts on the games you have written a blurb about.
