Resident Evil 3: Nemesis
** Completed in 2012 ** It was a good Resident Evil game. For some reason, I seem to have liked RE2 more.

I am saddened that MotherKojiro hated Grandia. She really hates it... well, at least she gave it a shot.

I'm gonna play it again multiplayer this weekend. That seems like such a great game to play with other people. Preferably non-competitive people who enjoy crashing as much as I do.

LOL I might like RE3 then. In the first game, I played as Chris first and twice got stuck with no saves and literally no healing or health items. It was survival mode as soon as I loaded the save LOL and I played on Original setting.

BTW, RE3 stars Jill who was in the mansion in the first game.

Reading the last comment, maybe I'm wrong? I don't know, I'm the new guy to RE LOL.

Yeah I thought I did start off as Claire, but for some reason I'm Leon? Is that supposed to happen or do I have to change the disc? I'm playing the download copy so i guess I need to change the settings...

(This is coming form a huge RE fan) imo, RE3 was a good game but the weakest of the original four. CV gets way too much hate.

RE4 (wii edition preferably, it's one of the few games that really benefit from motion control) and the gamecube remake are easily the two best.

Resident Evil 3, I've been told, was the best of the first 4 games in the series (NOT counting RE4 but counting RE: Code Veronica X). Looking forward to playing it myself after I'm done with RE2.

A guy at my work has got me hooked on the series now after I mentioned it was one of the series I missed playing. He loves RE5 online so much, he's been harassing me to get going LOL. I got a copy of RE5 now, and having the PS trilogy 1-3 already downloaded, I figured it was time to start.

Still have my Borderlands and SEGA games to get through...

Oh, that fills me with dread. 82 hours is a long time to spend on an RPG that hasn't really grabbed me yet, especially when I'm just grinding here and there on my PSP when I have the time and am not at home. Sure, I could play it on my PS3, but I have actual PS3 games for that that I'd like to play first. Let's not forget that my birthday is in a few months; I got Devil Summoner 2 for my last birthday, and I'm just now playing it, so I'd like to finish that before putting Grandia on the big screen, too.

I'm entirely too neurotic to enjoy most Western RPGs. I mean, Drakkhen was great, but the rest of them have too much side content. A lot of them are first-person, too, which bothers me because of my spatial reasoning issues. What is this "third dimension" garbage everyone keeps mentioning, anyway?

The best I can tell, it's very short. I haven't been playing it that much and I already have most of the costumes, all but one of the Battle Stamps, and all of the Creepy Treat Cards. It's a lot like Paper Mario; it's very tight, succinct, and has almost the same battle system. I'm not sure why so many people equate it to Earthbound, honestly. It's a very structured game, and it's a lot of fun to play. I had some trouble in the second area, but that's because I'm a dipshit and instead of walking 5 steps into the hole I'd discovered and getting a third party member, I tackled some of the hardest fights in the area with just a duo. I felt pretty stupid after figuring out what I'd done.

I've also been playing Barkley: Shut-up and Jam Gaiden, and it's over-the-top ludicrous. Surprisingly, though, it has at least one very poignantly allegorical subplot. It also has a somewhat Paper Mario-like battle system. I've just been nailing them lately, eh?

Meh. Some people think it's one of the best, some people think it's good, some people just don't like it very much. People have different ideas of what RPGs they consider good and what they consider bogus. Like, I think Xenogears is boring and didn't really care for Chrono Cross much.

Yeah, isn't it great how Grandia starts off seriously lighthearted and then gets darker near the end? The game did that kind of story really well.

You know that feeling you get after finishing a long RPG? It's a wonderful feeling, isn't it?

Congratulations. You have finished one of the greatest RPGs ever.

Ooh, good idea. I hadn't checked if videos existed. Obviously for a game like this that would be far more informative than a wall of text where I have to squint and check five times to make sure I'm reading the right part.

It's not going too quickly (game isn't easy and it's a bit of a fuss for me playing the PS1 in the first place), but it's going, at least. I do refer to the FAQ whenever I get stuck, as I feel I might abandon the game early if I don't. With the game as old as it is, the only FAQs available are from before the whole FAQ writing gig grew up, so what's there is somewhat challenging to read in the first place. :P

And I agree slow scrolling dialogue is annoying, often I can hold down square to speed it up, but sometimes that doesn't work for whatever reason. Great example, when I load a game the game pits you in a room where a booming voice tells you to select the tome you want to continue from, and that dialogue can't be sped up. When you're used to just hitting Continue, it's aggravating that it takes a minute or two extra just to select the one save file you've got.

Second sword, which I think is just 'sword'. Improvement over the dagger I suppose. But I rarely use it in combat, relying mostly on the ball and chain.

I didn't forget it; I just didn't want it. Sorry, I'm playing Spiritual Warfare and couldn't resist the AVGN Bible Games reference. It's something I play when I don't have access to the TV, and lately, when that has happened, I've been busy with cleaning, writing, proofreading, and rearranging my entire kitchen and pantry. As for auto-battle; I never use it in any RPG unless I'm stupidly overpowered and getting lazy.

I'm really enjoying Costume Quest; I couldn't not enjoy what is basically Paper Mario with a Halloween theme and a snarky sense of humor. So far, I only have 4 costumes (and the Space Warrior is worthless in battle), but I enjoy the variety. I don't have the DLC yet, though; I'm going to finish the game before I decide to do that.

Cool! And yes, gameplay is 100% more important to me than graphics. But nothing wrong with some slick 1080 visuals!

Seventy hours. You are definitely playing Grandia to its fullest extent.

Please tell me your thoughts on everything you have done since the last time we chatted.

It's pretty awesome! I love the new OS, and the gamepad is AWESOME. NSMBU is great, as to be expected, and Nintendo Land is surprisingly fun, and not frustrating. I love it so far! I think Nintendo has their foot in the door for something meaningful here.

I'm picking up a Deluxe this Saturday with New Super Mario Bros. U and probably ZombiU. I have ZombiU pre-ordered, but I'm still not "sold" on it. I also have Pikmin 3 and Rayman Legends pre-ordered too, but that won't be until February/March. My wife-to-be and I are both very excited about the Wii U and NSMBU specifically. We love playing those kinds of games together (NSMB, Rayman Legends, Kirby's Epic Yarn, etc. She couldn't handle doing co-op with me on Gears of War or something :P).

I know the feeling of having too much on your plate. I'm glad things are getting better for you (or at least hey were a month ago and I hope the trend has continued ).

Moving is always a real pain. I once had to move entirely by myself. It was just my room to my new house near campus a couple years ago, but it was still very difficult. Lugging a queen mattress up a flight of stairs by yourself at 2 AM is no fun.

Yay for efficient and well-working school aides! My bride-to-be has a similar schedule to yours from the sound of it.

Ooh, that is pretty nice. What color? I'm not really a car buff.

That's terrible about your wife's accident! I'm glad she wasn't hurt, but that doesn't change that massively expensive unexpected events suck.

Good for you on gaming. I've only really been able to game in the bathroom lately, and even then I'm switching out my current book half the time. I think some more free time may be coming my way soon enough for me to get some console time.

Yeah, I haven't played my PS3 yet, and I've had it since Monday (awesome gift). I've downloaded a ton of demos and have played a few minutes of the demo for Limbo, but that's it. My lady's playing Devil May Cry 3 right now; she gets to play my new console before I do because I have so much shit to do.

LOL PSN source for downloads.

Yeah, Dead Nation sounds alright. Plants Vs. Zombies... meh. Costume Quest I heard was like an old school Final Fantasy RPG.

Closure looks... interesting. I honestly never heard of it but having done some research, it looks good. Black and white gameplay? Do not adjust the TV!

If you are looking for some downloads, Outland is surprisingly fun. I may have to start a serious game on that, it feels like you're playing a Metroidvania, but set in the wilderness of lost jungles and the like. I got that one for free on PSN+.

Finished off Alex Kidd and Wonder Boy in Monster LAND. That was actually an arcade version surprisingly, still need to tackle WORLD and #IV.

Oh and King of Fighters XIII will have me going crazy, pulling my hair trying to Platinum, but oh well. There's not much up there right now anyways.

BTW, how's the big-screen TV? I forgot to ask in my last post.
