That's tough. I have played through and beaten almost every major resident evil game. I don't really count the silly shooter sytle games and the online survivor and the couple gameboy titles. When I think RE i think 1,2,3, Zero, directors cut of 1, the gamecube remake of 1, code veronica, 4 and 5. I think that covers them. And unfortunately I haven't completed 5 yet. Gameplay wise 4 takes the cake, but i'm guessing 5 is the gameplay system from 4 just fine tuned. Storywise you can't beat the introduction the the RE world in RE 1. I think the story up to code veronica was amazing while everything was still so complicated and mysterious it was great storytelling. : )
