I actually just picked up FFXII just yesterday. I'm glad people I know have liked it because it's one I never hear about.

Watch an LP then. Hell, I can even tell you the plot pretty well; I practically know the games by the back of my hand. As for a prequel I should probably say one more thing right now: You wouldn't be playing as Sly. It'd be his Dad I wouldn't mind Time Travel as well but that seems like the best direction for a Sly Prequel. I'll go spoiler crazy once you're on skype if you want. Not knowing 3 won't do much harm.

Get it somewhere. Sly 3 is possibly the second best one, though I really liked 2.

I would say a lot more when it comes to colleges right now but I'm tired but the brightside is you can still try to get as much out of being close to Digipen as possible. Grab their books. Study their stuff. Really, you told it to me the best. "Determination wins lives; pretty much every rich guy uses it" and I really appreciated that when you told me that as I'm already a pretty bright individual. People out of looking at Me/Ray actually think I'm the programming one. If it makes you feel better, I actually did get scholarships and got accepted into both MIT and Digipen. Guess who's not getting into either.

Yeah started conversations randomly. Lots of nice people so it's like "Meh might as well keep talking". Plus now that I'm doing a Podcast and I'm back healthy, it's nice. I guess I am just interesting as well. Honestly, I really am a huge game nerd. I know exclusives for even the most ridiculous systems.

Yeah that happens to me with games too. Strangely enough, most of the time I get addicted, I never beat them.

But Sly is so worth it. I should feel bad for inspiring you to pick that up, among other games, but nah. Having a backlog is good. Especially before you possibly Digipen

Yeah Sly 4 as I said is best Sly so that sucks. Maybe your friend can let you play it after you're done with the other three. If not, I can rough you in on the plot and more. I'm gonna spoiler why having a Sly Prequel would be good now that you're done with 1:

So the only villains before Sly's time are Le Paradox's Father (Sly 4) and Clockwerk (Sly 1 in Sly's Dad's years. There's a lot of interesting substance such as Clockwork hating both of them in general, and a lot to go around before Sly's father is killed, Sly beating Le Paradox's Father to the Gem, and more.

Really, it's better at least than lolreach or lolbirthbysleep

Good luck going through Sly 3. Honestly just to beat it it's the quickest one for me. I'm trying to complete the last of my Wii/PSP/etc games on my list.

Everyone be talking to me because I be interesting. I just love being able to comment back and forth to other people's backlogs. I'm talking to people I normally wouldn't talk to; it's great, especially when some aren't on skype.

The nice part is Ray should be over once we would start that.

It's the best Star Ocean game and the last of Square-Enix's good games. Do not even spoil the plot like I did. (I've beat a lot of it)

Honestly of all my games it'll be the hardest one to - Oh and so glad I bought another memory card a while ago. I'm probably gonna have to get a third (and maybe fourth) one for the rest of my JRPG's and stuff.

edit: I wish you could play Sly 4; it's basically best Sly. Is it bad if after a discussion with a gamestop employee since after playing that game I would actually want a prequel to the series?

edit 2: star ocean is also just generally addictive as hell. i played star ocean 2 just two days straight and got to like level 60 and im still not done with it. i will complete 1/2/3 down the line though (screw 4)

Loved Baiten Kaitos. Still need to play Origins, one of my shelved backlogged games. I loved the deck card battle system. I remember a boss that took me 3 hours to beat, not sure which one it was though.

I definitely see where you're coming from, but using Super Paper Mario as an example, I counted the cards/recipes as (and got them all). I partially like to use it as a reminder as well, so that I can look and see if there's something left for me to do in a game or not even if I don't remember.

One thing that's a factor though is if collectables are listed anywhere. If there's a list indicating which ones are missing, I'm much more likely to (want to) fill it out for than if I have to manually keep track somehow. It's even more annoying when something that doesn't keep track of itself (i.e. Kinstones in Minish Cap) ends up leading to something useful (I think they did anyway; I know the figurines led to a Piece of Heart but those had a list), because I feel more obligated to complete it but it's more frustrating as I get closer to the end and a few are missing.

Yeah, that was another big reason I didn't get into SMRPG. Besides Chrono Trigger, I inevitably compared it to the Paper Mario/Mario & Luigi games, and it just doesn't hold up to that comparison in my opinion. It's sort of like Pikmin--I loved the original, but after all of the improvements Pikmin 2 made, I can't help but like the original less because of things that aren't there. The original certainly isn't bad, and it's mainly a testament to how you can do well at making a good game even better without a radical overhaul, but my opinion is forever changed.

As for , I just tend to be more strict about that. For example, if a Steam game has achievements, getting all of them is with very few exceptions. For other games, everything should be unlocked and all major goals completed. Beating different difficulties depends on the game (i.e. if it unlocks something). Collectables are something that's more of a gray area, though. For WW, everything besides the figurines counts for C, but for something like Skulltula tokens in OoT, they're required. I'd just personally prefer to be more accurate marking something as if I don't feel like I 'd it rather than have the satisfaction of the .

Yeah, I started a month or two ago and it's helped me clear out some stuff already. (Oh, and I also have it pick 5 "B" games to play towards "C" but counting for less time to encourage playing "U" games but allowing variety in goals). My main issue is time, though, and even if I were to beat say one game a week it'd still take quite a while. My short-term goal is getting below 100 unbeaten, but I've gotten a couple of indie bundles recently so they ate up some of the progress I've made. But it has helped me get into some games that had fallen into "play eventually" status, so it's been pretty successful overall.

As for the games listed, I played like the first two worlds or so of Crayon Physics, but got it in a bundle and put it to the side to play some of the other bundle games and never got back to it. I'll almost certainly replay it if the cookie suggests it, though. Super Mario Land 2 just replaced Kirby & the Amazing Mirror as my work "lunch break" game, so that won't be too much longer.

Recettear I enjoyed but kept sucking at. I also enjoyed DKCR but forget why I stopped that. Possibly because "C" seems hard to reach (especially if I count Time Trials which I'm not great at) and that's usually my ideal goal. Punch-Out I'm not great at but might try to take an hour or two to power through just to get the "U" out of there.

Gemini Rue I didn't really get into. It wasn't bad per se but it just didn't grab me, and again, it was in a bundle where other games grabbed me more. Similarly, I had troubles getting into Super Mario RPG. I just don't feel like it holds up well against current RPGs (even in its own series), and I believe I got it around when I got Chrono Trigger (neither of which I had played originally and both of which I had heard great things about). I loved Chrono Trigger even playing it today, but SMRPG just felt dated to me (although I realize I'm in the minority there). One of the Let's Players that I usually watch just finished SMRPG, though, so I might watch that and use it as motivation to finish.

I'm working on it

Although I really am. For the past few weeks I've had the Fortune Cookie generate 5 random games and my policy is that I have to play at least 4 hours of the games from the previous two weeks (although preceding games are allowed where applicable, i.e. playing Donkey Kong if it gives me Mario vs. Donkey Kong).

I figured it'd be a good way to "force" myself to get to some of the games I've put on the backburner when I've been putting a lot of time into one or two particular games.
