I think I'm going to give Maria the bulk of the magic spells (both attack and support), since I believe she starts out with higher magic-based stats. I'm gonna turn Firion into a Red Mage of sorts. Lots of swords, and a decent amount of magic of both types. Gus... I'm gonna give him a pair of axes and let him swing away with them. Probably give him a couple emergency support spells, like Exit an Teleport. Say, was there any difference at all between those two spells in Final Fantasy II?

I totally agree that it opens up alot of possibilities that many games in the series have lacked up until recently. On the other hand, its a bit of a double-edged sword, since loading up every character with every ability and/or spell in the game can make things kinda boring and even take away somewhat from the characters' identities. That, and it can sometimes take away from the overall challenge of the game. Or, perhaps I'm just overthinking things...

Did you give everyone spells, or just one or two of them? I figure Gus can't have too much natural affinity for magic. Or do his magic-based stats raise just as easy as everyone else? I have half a mind to pop this game back in the Playstation and finally get around to finishing it.

PS, you sure have alot of games.

Holy buckets. You finished Final Fantasy II? You are my hero. How did you do it? I often find myself unable to really make enough money to purchase gear and make battles easier. I usually try to boost everyone's HP by defeating all but one enemy per battle and then hittin' the whole party with a decent powered spell. Everyone's HP usually increases, but not much else. I considered playing it on easy mode, but that would probably just make me feel as though I hadn't actually accomplished anything.

Thanks for the complement to my Virtual Boy collection. Unfortunately Jack Bros. and the 3D Tetris still elude me. I still like to whip it out now and then for some Galactic Pinball and Red Alarm. While I can see you're quite busy, I also see that you like platformers. I just got Bit.Trip Runner and it really feels like the ultimate retro platformer/Pitfall! sequel. Check it out if you get the chance. You won't regret it.
