Tell me about it. I had a slight bout of domestic upheaval to contend with, couldn't take much with me so no access to Advance Wars for most of July. A fresh assault begins tonight, time to bring this one home.

Hey now, I didn't say it was garbage or anything. I found the Morlia Minsehaft to be one annoying dungeon, then I got to a forest where

1) It's a complete maze. Everything looked the same and it was very hard to figure out where to go. My end result was simply letting some treasure chests stay unopened so I knew where I've been, since they disappear otherwise. I followed a trail of unopened chests back. I might still be stuck in there otherwise. =P

2) Random encounters are numerous. I usually don't use items that reduce them but jesus christ I had to in there. Especially since..

3) You only have 3 of your 4 party members, so fighting in there is kind of pointless due to all the experience she is missing out on.

But I did it without a FAQ. I'm a man!

Let us hope I'll manage it! I have a bad habit for RPG hopping which leaves my memory cards full of halfway saves. In fact there's quite a few I really should be getting back to, but I just didn't feel like it, so out came Metal Saga.

Only time will tell if it'll join them at some point or if I can see it through. Wish me luck!

In any other AW game I would say total S-Ranks count as , but they sure did seem easier to get in Days of Ruin, so might be right. Maybe.

Sweetness! Not only did you beat it, but you S-Ranked the bugger. That's a nice bonus reward alright, mostly because it means you never have to replay that level ever again. My hat is tipped sir, and if I was less drunk I would play a little AW in honour of your victory. But I've been given some part-tequila, part-mystery alcohol mix, so I'm going to save it for the morning.

So ... with the amount of extra single-player content stripped back, do you think a run is viable? How's it look from the front lines, I know that Dual Strike terrifies me when it comes to completion, hence me only thinking about going for it on the original AW at this time.

I have like 25 healing items (wtf is it called, candy? drops? I forget) and they will keep me healed. I picked the thief because I liked his story, I picked old whats his name because he's strong like me and physical attacks make games easier, and I picked the woman because she was prettier than the other ones.

The one biggest flaw of the Advance Wars games is their constant decision to make the last mission a total kick in the balls. I feel your pain. And indeed, when I get there again I'll feel their pain as well.

Planning a big catch-up on my Advance Wars challenge next week. Got distracted not by Kirby, but Plants Vs. Zombies. Played it for a bit last night, looked up and in my eagerness to the game 5 hours had flown by. And then I discovered just how much post-game content there was ...
