Master of Unlocking: Majority of games are completed
Oh my god Kessel to the Coyotes. I am stunned!

When we learned that they only had 3 days to plan the whole thing, everything sort of made sense. I wouldn't really call it a rampage, and apparently anyone who was injured or had heat exhaustion was taken care of quickly. A lot of people started to leave around noon, and it was just people not caring about traffic in the downtown core. A big part of the shooting not really making much news is that it was targeted, and no one was seriously injured, I think.

I want to basically go 1000% completion with this file: All shrines, seeds, sidequests, Champion's Ballad, and the motorcycle. It's honestly been a really fun way to do some casual summer gaming. With Dark Souls, I feel that I need a couple hours to sit down and make progress, but with BoTW, I can do half an hour and still make progress, even if it's something silly.

The last two games for me where it was all I could think about was BoTW and Persona 5. I need to start working on a new embroidery project as well, and I have some new books that just arrived at the library.

This weekend was so nice! Friday I went to see some friends I haven't seen in ages, so that was a nice night of video games and catching up. Then Saturday we went waaaay out East on the 115 to see some of my partner's friends. Since they live so far out, we don't see them as much and I feel bad that for a couple, it had been 1.5 years. But two recently had a baby and he's 5 months old now and an absolute sweetheart.

Sunday, I had brunch with a friend, then we walked around the city for a bit, that was super helpful since we mostly went into furniture stores and I found the store I want to buy a new area rug and chair in. And then went to CB2 because we wanted to feel poor

And then today was devoted to staying inside because I'm fairly introverted and having 3 days in a row of socializing usually means I need one day where I don't have to engage with anyone lol

How was yours?? And happy Canada day!

Oh my god the Raptors game. So, I missed the last game. Was sick that day and ended up super confused about which day of the week it was. But the Monday, I went to work and since we're right by Nathan Phillips Square, we wanted to watch the parade but it was problematic from the start.

A lot of my friends on the Go trains were saying there were drunks at 6am, no one was respecting the rules etc. Finally, when the shooting started, I booked it at 4 and it was honestly awful until I passed Spadina going West. Just drunks.

I am SO excited for BotW 2, it's what made me pick up the first again. I wanted something nice and relaxing for summer. Will admit, its sort of made me forget about Dark Souls, really need to get back on that. Link's Awakening has me super excited, and I've never played Animal Crossing, but I was really pleased to see they're delaying the game rather than destroy the team through crunch. I do wish

Boston, I'm sad. I had a good cry, and dreaded going into the office but everyone was super nice. They also admitted they have no room to talk shit with me given that it's my team that keeps going far. At the end of the day, I just wanted Tuukka to have a cup where he wasn't the backup goalie.

I love when games do that, just suck you in. That was BotW and Persona 5 for me. I have a P5 and BotW wallpaper for my work laptop lol

They were so fun, but I was so so tired afterwards. The last weekend, boyfriend and I declined all plans and did nothing all weekend. I just wanted to clean my condo and play games.

That's going to be so exciting! Well, exhausting and exciting! We've not had the heat be too bad yet, but July is juuust around the corner, so I'm expecting to melt into a puddle before then. But I've stocked up with everything I could need:
UV resistant coat for walking to and from work
Various sunscreens at work and home (I never go a day without it)

I have heard about how it's taking backers a long time to receive their game. That is really unfortunately. However, it's thanks to people like you the game even got made at all! So, thank you!!! It's easily one of my favorite games ever. I wish I would have backed it, even if it meant waiting to get it. In fact, I got it on launch day but actually lost about 6+ hours of game time. After the first update, all people who played with the original version got a game breaking bug that prevented progress. So it pays to wait!

I'm finally starting to be less optimistic, that and I'm exhausted because the Raptors won and the city just exploded! Funny enough, I was saying to my other half that it would be so much fun to have the insanity happen with the Leafs. I'm sort of trying to resign myself to the possibility that we might not make it this year, but I'm still so proud of my team!!

When we last won the cup, I still wasn't super into hockey so I was stunned that Vancouver basically destroyed their own city. I was more interested in things from a legal point of view since it took so long for everyone to get through the court system.

So far, it took a bit of adjustment, but it's been a consistent "this boss only took 1-2 times, whereas in would take 10-20 times to nail a tricky boss". Meanwhile I still die from stupid things, so that's still the same

We're heading down to see my parents on Sunday, so I'll have to see where he is now in Assassin's Creed.

This weekend is one of those semi-overbooked ones. 2 birthday celebrations this weekend, but we got lucky and today's party is after dinner so I can do all the cleaning I need to today. Then on Sunday I pick up my sister and her, other half and I head to my parents for my grandmother's 96th birthday.

Any fun plans for the summer? I'm going to Con Bravo in July, and possibly Fan Expo in August. Beyond that, I've got to figure out how I'm going to get to the cottage from the downtown.

The hype here is so real! Tomorrow they're closing Lakeridge to Front st for Jurassic Park, and they've made more for the game in Burlington, Brampton, Kingston, and Mississauga I think.

It's been so long since our city had anything. Leafs...well we just won't talk about that. Blue Jays, I think that was 92? And for the first time ever, we've got basketball.

I am probably going to have some sort of stroke watching this series. I know very little about the Blues, apparently they're the Blackhawks biggest rival?

Bergeron is without a doubt the most adored player in the NHL I think. No one ever has a bad word against him, it's just that he's just an excellent player, and a very good man. Even the die hard Leafs fangirl that I usually chirp at work said she'd love it if he was more like Marchand because then hating him would be so easy. But she thinks he's amazing too.

Thank god, I was out of the city that night. A couple friends said the party finally stopped at 2:30. A couple people have been joking that the Raptors REALLY need to do well otherwise we'll just follow in Vancouver's footsteps and burn out own city down Won't say anything more on that because.. it's my team's fault...

I got myself into a silly situation by having such an easy time at first, I didn't stagger my saves and realised I wanted to grind more before entering the point of no return.

Darksouls 3 was a bit of an adjustment. I started with Bloodborne and learned how to deal without having a shield. But, now I have a shield and had to learn how to deal with that. But I find I'm having an easier time, and I'm not sure if this is because I've adjusted to the Souls games, or if this one is simply easier than Bloodborne.

Funny enough, my dad (who is in LOVE with his PS4) has been utterly obsessed with Odyssey. When boyfriend and I went down for my mum's birthday, we regaled with the most recent boss fight. Some sort of giant snake?

It seems that everyone in Canada has forgotten about hockey But I am excited seeing the Raptors doing so well, hearing people freak out yesterday night reminded me there was a game. I honestly thought there'd been an accident until I opened the window and heard a drunken "lets go raptorssssssss".

I've hit a roadblock in my Fire Emblem game, it's gotten to the point where I'm so frustrated, I'm actively picking up Dark Souls 3 because that's more fun

Yeah I've definitely learned to appreciate the indie titles especially that really nail their design and condense it into a digestible experience. More hours doesn't make a game better. I wish more developers would be willing to cut the filler. Filler is okay (I guess) if your game is 12 hours long. If you've got a 50 hour RPG with a huge open world and tons of interesting content, then you really truly don't need fetch quests and collectibles and loot/treasure hunts and hunting quests etc. And I haven't quite understood the trend towards these longer and longer games. Assassin's Creed games used to be 20-25 hours, and they still had too much filler for my tastes. Now they're triple that length and I doubt that it's all gold. Trophy/Achievement data shows that historically, most people don't finish games. They pay money for them and don't even reach the halfway point even in shorter games.

I remember playing Pokemon Snap for ages and ages, because it was the one new game I got for that year. That's a super short game, and yet when it's all you have you can invent ways to make it enjoyable. There doesn't need to be so much content, and I don't necessarily accept the argument that it doesn't hurt anything for it to be there. For one it stretches the team and resources thinner and possibly makes the overall quality worse. And two, if the game length is overwhelming then people will wander around, lose focus and interest, and not bother with the rest. I think the best scenario to be in is one where the team is wondering "how do we fit all of this amazing content into 20 hours" versus "how do we fill 60 hours?". Hell, it might even help with the whole overtime/crunch situation.

But I digress. I'm liking Witcher 3! Some parts are definitely more compelling than others, so there is a good amount of me listening to podcasts while I play. I haven't spent a ton of time with Gwent actually, partly due to what you said about getting too side tracked and burnt out and partly because I'm just not really that into deck building games. The early part of the game was pretty tough and it could have used a better tutorial to teach you about how the potions/oils/upgrades all work. Some of the systems are kind of annoying, but I actually like the combat and creature design overall. Story is still just getting started I think.

Yeah I got MGSV for games with gold last year I think, and recently when trying to choose something to play I put it into howlongtobeat and promptly noped out of there. Do any of these developers realize we have responsibilities!? Haha. Glad you're enjoying Odyssey though. I'm so behind on the AC series.

Wow, you are so close to finishing your backlog. You can do it! As someone who also carefully plans out the order of games I'm playing, I know where you're coming from. Cooling off on a game after acquiring it can really lower its play priority.

Sounds like you have some hang-ups with MGSV already, so I wouldn't force a playthrough since it can be quite long if you play many side missions. I didn't go in with big expectations and it delivered on levels way more than I anticipated. ...I was gonna write a few more lines about it but that would only skew your expectations which is what I'm trying to prevent haha. Take it at a comfortable pace. I hope you enjoy it

And with the INSANITY that is the Tampa and Columbus game, I am out of the work bracket. the only guy still in is the gentleman who has never watching a hockey game in his bloody life.

There are also various signs up for the Leafs, and my favourite work & hockey buddy (she's always got the Leafs full schedule as her desktop background) has printed pictures of Marchand with a big red X on him. I've been joking that this is workplace harassment

But there was a solid 20 minutes at work today where we all just stood there and just did this:

I am still furious about Kadri. Not even for hitting DeBrusk, but 5 suspensions and all for the same hitting people in the head...he could really hurt someone. And he's clearly not learning because he did it this time last year to one of our players.

And a part of me is mad that I live in this city, and I would LOVE to see what happens if the Leafs won the cup. And each tie he gets so damn mad he just wholly loses control, he might be costing the Leafs so much more than just the suspension for the rest of the games.

I didn't see any of the Pitt series, apparently they were just wretched the whole time?

Kadri is such a rat. The way he dives and watched for the ref so he can start writhing is just insane.

And that shit with DeBrusk was sooooo dirty.
One game at a time...
