I 100%'d this on my 3DS years ago, but it's due for a replay since I'm completing the entire Zelda series chronologically. It's truthfully very derivative, but it does it well, and shrinking is a very cute Zelda "gimmick." I demand to see the Minish people in another game!

Fun fact: This was my first Pokemon game as a kid because I found it in a parking lot. I remember being pleasantly surprised by it, but it's not as impressive now. It's pretty basic. I still appreciate the new spin on this franchise and am open to playing the sequels, if only to appreciate unique DS gameplay. I appreciated having my 3DS XL's large screens for the capture mechanic.

Although the camera controls are a more ruthless antagonist than Bowser, this game is an absolute joy to play even to this day. Somehow I didn't realize just how much I adore it until recently. The early levels are definitely the best and most iconic, but I really appreciate the creativity they employed consistently throughout the game.

I rarely if ever consider "best" endings/rankings to be essential to completion by themselves, and this game is no exception. That said, I actually would've gotten the best rank but the game didn't count the second gold diamond, so I'm marking it complete regardless. Aside from minor annoyances (like above) and a disappointing final boss, this is a very unique GC launch title. It did feel short/unrealized in some way but it was very fun. Would gladly replay it in hard mode or try the sequels.

For the most part, I appreciate the redesigns to distinguish this cast from their previous incarnations. This game has no real end goal unlike other farming sims and total completion takes FOREVER, so I'm gonna chill with this one. After "beating" it - which I believe is when you see the credits after getting married - I'll probably just play whenever the mood strikes me and see if I can make headway towards completion.

What more can I say that hasn't already been said about this strange, imaginative little adventure? It takes its time and the lighthearted charm hooks you. Very accessible but not too easy. I'm utilizing the manual which apparently doubles as a little guide. It's cute. My one 'complaint' if you could really call it that is that it feels a bit long to me (even with a guide). Not sure if I want to count getting every ultimate 1/128 item or whatever for completion because it's honestly pointless.
I never did reply a while back, whoops. Yeah, Luigi doesn't even appear in every Mario game, but when he does I feel he should have SOMETHING to do, as opposed to Paper Mario where he's just stuck at home (even if it is done for a goof).
And if you want to be extra mean, you can ditch him during the epilogue: [Link] (Glitch? Easter egg? A glitch that was left in as an easter egg? We'll never know.)
As for Castlevania, I wouldn't recommend marathoning the series, at least not "Classicvania". Those games are physically and mentally taxing to finish as intended, though if you were to play with save states it would be a different story.
Kudos on ing Skyward Sword, too. I haven't played it but your review lines up with what I've absorbed from other people over time. "Somehow both over- & under-rated" sums it up.
