Neverwinter Nights? Which one? Mind you, I played the first one with the addons about 8 years ago... And the game itself could be harder or easier depending on a hero you choose. Be a fighter, and enemies (most of them) go down easily. Become a mage and you'll need to dig the magic system which is not easy for the beginner.

I personally find NWN2 worse, but maybe it's just me, dunno. And I still haven't finished the 1st addon to NWN2 - it makes me soooo sleepy (
