★★★★★ This is such a perfect 2D metroid game! Visuals and music are great, controls are fluid and animations in this game engine are beautiful (for 3DS standards that is). I love the fact that every metroid is a mini-boss fight, with some bigger boss fights thrown into the mix too. Areas from the original are still recognizable, but they are of course way more better now, with much less annoying backtracking. Onyl gripe is that some content is locked away behind amiibo, they shouldn't do that.

Consider Yourself a Hero: Majority of games are beaten

Haha, I know right? In my previous playthrough I forgot a couple of things and now I distinctly remembered them so I avoided having to go back for them again. This game definitely has questionable cases of fetch quests and backtracking that doesn't always work well but changing any of that would have been too significant I'd say. Thankfully, the remaster improved just about everything else. Most notably the pacing of the game with its QoL changes. I still would have liked a faster Loftwing upgrade similar to the Swift Sail but that's about it really.

I'm really satisfied with my clear time for Skyward Sword now, especially how it stacks up to the other 3D Zelda games that I've played so many times before. Things just started falling into place nicely with the order I did them in, though I will say it felt like the text speed change shaved off an hour by itself.

I certainly felt the same during my first playthrough! I like to play Fire Emblem with my team all pre-planned on a nice spreadsheet and all (final class, growth rates, skills etc.) but for Three Houses you really can't do that the first time around as there are so many extra systems to wrap your head around first. Seems simple in comparison when you didn't even have to worry about goals to get your promotions in previous games!

After watching all the cutscenes for KH 358/2, I was SO excited to not watch people eat ice cream, or talk about eating ice cream.

And I'm starting as Terra...and he seems to be sort of an idiot?

Hey man, I saw that you're struggling to get into Three Houses and just wanted to tell you that it's pretty normal to feel that way. It has a lot of mechanics new to Fire Emblem which can easily feel overwhelming the first time around. The first half of the game is fairly lenient though, so even when you might feel you're not fully utilizing everything quite yet you won't be punished for it either. Especially on Normal difficulty.

That said, if you have any questions at all let me know and I can give you spoiler-free answers!

PS: Fish and pick up shinies as much as you can! Raising your professor level gives you a lot of benefits and fishing or finding books with information doesn't cost you Activity Points! Explore/Battle are the best ways to spend your day off. Seminars/Rest have some uses but can't compete with the value you get out of the other two options.

For me there was still quite a lot to do in Rise 1.0, as I play all 14 weapon types equally and thus had a lot of weapons and armor sets to craft and put together. Even when there's no new challenge available in-game, I have a lot of ways to keep things interesting by experimenting with and mastering as many playstyles as possible. Rise 2.0 was a great update, though! In addition to the 4 regular new monsters, even the standard Apex quests are different enough to be considered new since the fights play out very differently compared to a Rampage. Hoping to see a lot more Apex hunts in the future with revamped movesets myself as it's much more interesting than just buffing their damage output like they did with Tempered monsters in MH: World.

I've recently hit the training room to test and document every Switch Skill in-depth and discovered several exciting new possibilities that I'll include in my line-up of 56 sets for 2.0. I should be done with that by next week, after which I'll take a short break until 3.0 hits. I really gotta get started on another project of mine instead of exclusively playing MH!

The best way to earn Zenny is through mining during an upsurge in an expedition. With Geology you can get 4 stacks of 3 Ores per mining spot for usually about 10min before it changes. There are some better routes but I like the Lava Caverns, especially with the hidden area in the north-east corner.

Hope you're enjoying the game!

I 100% plan on playing Miles and I've heard they trimmed the fat on it. Unfortunately my PS5 won't play my copy of Miles. I get the 01 error you may have seen online but all my other games work. Sony said they are working on a patch but we shall see.

Confused: Playing 10+ games at once
Happy new year everybody! As always, a lot of games were played the past year. However, I finished A LOT less than previous years. You can view a summary here: [Link] The small amount of possibly has to do with moving away from my parents to an own apartment, together with Animal Crossing being a HUGE timesink. Not all is too bad however, since my breakdown ended with a perfect 0, which means I did not buy more than I finished. That is the goal of this website, right?

I enjoyed all of those games a lot, but if you asked me to make a top 5, it would be as follows:

1) Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Well, what more can I say about this? I've clocked more than 300 hours which is an astronomic amount in any game for me. It's the ultimate chill experience and there is always something to do, be it stressfully fishing on the last day of the month to finally catch that elusive fish that will disappear for a half year if you do not catch it, or shooting down balloons with a 0.00000005% chance to get a recipe you need for a nice holiday themed furniture. All craziness and FOMO-issues aside, this has been a great experience and possibly will be for every day in 2021 too.

2) The Last of Part II (PS4)
Amazing game which really raised the barrier for the more cinematic games. Astounding animations, gruesome story and just so immersive. I was afraid it wouldn't live up to the expectations, but it did and completely crushed them

3) Demon's Souls (PS5)
Since playing Bloodborne (which I'm actually replaying right now) I'm really interested in Soulslike games and this shows the PS5 in all it's glory. Soundwise, it's amazing too!

4) Ghost of Tsushima (PS4)
I'm so glad I waited to play this on PS5, because it's been such a smooth game on that console. The island is given form beautifully and the colors pop a lot. Oh, and the combat and online mode is really great too.

5) Hades (Switch Download)
Surprise game of this year. Whenever I start this up, I literally can't stop playing until the day is over. It's just SO good. This game really does nothing wrong and always provides another incentive to do a new run, which repeats and repeats. Play this.

Have a good 2021!

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is best leuk.
