Oh man, that announcement came out of nowhere didn't it?

Wind Waker is one of my favorite Zelda's, so I'm curious to see what's going to become of it.

I'd be surprised if they didn't remind you, since I'm pretty sure the Korok were based on or at least inspired by them, haha. After all, the Kodama are really a part of Japanese folklore and The Wind Waker is fairly heavy on the Japanese influence for a Zelda game.

Mononoke is a great illustration of one thing I love about all the Ghibli movies. There is rarely a true "bad guy." Actually I can't think of a single one. Everyone has their own very human and, from their side, reasonable motivations. While there is usually something to overcome, that something is rarely the actual issue on the table.

Lady Eboshi and iron town is a perfect example. At first they seem like the problem, but it's really their attitude towards their goal that is, and that coupled with the "good" sides own natural imperfections and misconceptions and you have a very relate-able struggle without a very clear right side. It's not really about right or wrong, but about not hurting others on your way. Iron town wasn't bad, and Eboshi certainly wasn't heartless but she was all business when it came to her goal, and that was her fundamental weakness.

The same could be said of the gods and their pride.

I could go on and on, but the point is even the simplest of their movies are filled with between the lines depth and it's one of the reasons I love them so much.

Aww, I'm so jealous!! I want to go!

As for a favorite.. that's a toughie. They all have their own unique charm. I haven't seen all of them, though, so I may have to be cliché and boring and say it's a toss up between Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away. The magic and mystery permeating Spirited Away pulls me in every time.

I don't know though, I mean Mononoke is great, Ponyo is really funny, Totoro is fun and suprisingly heavy at the end, Kiki is a simple and fun growing up story, Naussica feels in the same vein as Mononoke to me so I enjoy that one as well. I even enjoyed Arietty, though I wish that one would have explored the world just a bit more.

It's a tough question, but I think I'm going to be boring and say Spirited Away overall.

EDIT: Also, about DK, if you haven't touched it yet, then don't start without her! If you're co-oping you'll need to go through the whole adventure together because it gets pretty dang tricky and you will definitely need to know how to work with each other, haha

Yeah, I saw you added those Metal Gears. Once you've had a chance to check them out, let me know what you think! I really want to get into the series, but I'd rather get your opinion first before I go diving in without looking

Oh man. I hope that didn't spoil too much for you.

But yeah, I noticed quite a few of those, but there were some that I didn't quite catch. They really put a lot of hard work into this game. I love how many of the little tidbits they added explain many things that happen in previous Zelda games that took place after this one. It's interesting that the red bird on the Hylian shield signifies Link's Crimson Loftwing. Does that mean that the white lines on the left and right of the Triforce mean anything, I wonder? Or perhaps they're just for decoration. lol

I just beat the fourth dungeon today. It's really great so far. It's really hard to decide where I place it in comparison to other Zelda games because I haven't beat it yet, but I think it will probably end up being at least my third favorite right below OoT and MM. Usually I don't know how much I really like a Zelda game until a while later when I play it a second time though.

I really love how it makes references to practically every other Zelda game that has ever been released. Such as the "It's a secret to everybody!"
