★★★★★ Are you one of those people that has a passing interest in learning the guitar? Perhaps you've dabbled with Rockband/Guitar Hero but want something more geared towards learning how to play. Look no further than Rocksmith, it has everything you need. The lessons are basic and sometimes hard to grasp, but you can make the leap from absolute beginner to fairly competent with a little dedication. There's even a few arcade style mini-games thrown in. Did I mention the custom songs? Oh boy.

Really enjoying my time playing Breath of the Wild. Just over two weeks in and no sign of quest fatigue yet. Those Koroks are going to be troublesome to nail down though, I just know it.

I'm playing just the normal patch of Kowai Shashin, since I want to at least get a feel for how the gameplay works. I have the other patches, but haven't decided on the random one yet. Maybe if I like the game enough, I'll give it a shot. But yeah, it was that urban legend that prompted me to play the game to begin with, to be honest haha. It's really interesting, considering how late of a release for the PS1 it is. I'd like to find out exactly where all of the in-game photos come from.

I don't mind an incredibly dark atmosphere. Sounds really cool, I can't wait to try it out. I haven't played a whole lot of games in its style, so I'm sure it'll be fun when I get to it.

Woah, I don't think I've seen Kowai Shashin before. Ultra Healthy Video Game Nerd did a video on it. I managed to get a translated ISO, so I may just try it out today! As for Megami Tensei II, I made it to the part when you beat Devil Busters and fight your way out of the shelter. I can definitely tell I'm gonna love it, haha. I played Kyuuyaku II all the way through back in the day, and was always curious about the original Famicom release.

That's the second quest of NES Zelda done, something I've been putting off since forever, and the second completed game of 2022, AND the completion of my NES backlog (minus Duck Hunt but we won't talk bout that). Pretty good going.

Gave Sweet Home another playthrough and managed to keep all the characters alive this time. Didn't enjoy it quite as much this time around. Also not sure I rate TheSeige's 2017 translation as better than the Gaijin Productions one to be honest. If you're going to tackle it yourselves, bear in mind the game gets a little frustrating juggling the items and grinding to the required prayer levels, and if I have any tips to offer you it's rename your characters to match their main item, 'med kit' 'lighter' etc, and always put 'vacuum' and 'camera' on the same team. Thank me later.

Thanks!

Hope you're liking Disco Elysium. I picked that up on Steam not too long ago, but haven't tried it out yet. It looks promising.

Started a Retroachievements profile @ [Link] There's some easy gets on there, but a lot of toughies too. Having to essentially replay all the games in my collection again is a bit nuts, but this at least keeps me entertained, my fingers nimble, and adds some fun to the whole experience going forward.

Finally finished my SNES masterlist. It's taken a few years, mostly because I kept putting it aside to concentrate on other things, but now it's done.

Still some gaps to research and fill in re: Satellaview games. All the various sources seem to differ on what was broadcast, and have confusions over naming conventions, but it'll all fall into place eventually.

As it stands I'm pretty proud of the results, even through there's bound to be a ton of mistakes, now I can work through it at my leisure. (all dem time sink RPGs tho, urgh.) It differs a lot to the wikipedia entry for SNES releases, theirs has a crapton of mistakes and assumptions, but I can't exactly say that mine is more accurate can I? My ego isn't that large.

Megadrive/Genesis collection completed

Feed me more Megadrive games!

Onto the SNES, which I'm not particularly looking forward to due to the amount of RPGs. Massive timesink ahead.

And that's the bottom line...
