In my opinion, it's pretty straightforward when it comes to playing PS4 games on PS5. PS4 games are still absolutely PS4 games when played on PS5. Yes, some games have PS5-specific patches, but unless it is sold as a native PS5 application, then it is still a PS4 game. Horizon Zero Dawn is still a PS4 game as far as the PS5 is concerned, even though you can now play it in 60fps - it's still running in backwards compatibility mode even though it has a patch that is available only on that console. The currently existing version of Ghost of Tsushima is still a PS4 game even though it's 60fps on PS5. However, the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut will be releasing for both PS4 and PS5. If you buy the PS5 version, then that is clearly a PS5 game. I think the game's platform overrides the system it is being played on.

Things get murkier when it comes to upgrades, especially if the upgrade is free. Like, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade? I bought the Yuffie DLC, but my access to the complete game is still linked to my PS4 disc. I'm not sure I could really say I own the PS5 version of FFVII Remake. I added it to my Backloggery so I could add the Yuffie DLC, but my sense of ownership over that version feels a bit tenuous to me personally.

Xbox is much trickier and I myself have not yet decided how I will manage those games going forward. I've continued adding Xbox games to my Backloggery as Xbox One games, even when they have native Xbox Series X versions available since my ownership of the Xbox One disc still gives me access to the lower-powered version. For now, the only game I've put into the Xbox Series X category is Microsoft Flight Simulator, since it's the only one I own that cannot be played on Xbox One. I may change this in the future, but I just haven't puzzled it out yet.

But the Backloggery is designed to give you flexibility! Think about if you beat a game for a console you don't actually own - like if you beat the Virtual Console version of a Super Nintendo game, but you don't own an actual Super Nintendo. It's still definitely a SNES game, so I could see a valid case for marking that as a SNES game on your Backloggery instead of Wii or VC or whatever, but I could also see people thinking it feels weird to see SNES on their Backloggery systems if they don't actually own one. In the same sense, what if you own a PS5 but not a PS4? It's just a personal preference sort of thing you gotta decide for yourself!

I think "unfinished" is definitely the best word. What's there has promise, but something is holding it back from being great.

How are you liking Sonic '06? I didn't mind it as much as some, though the load times are indeed horrible and ill-placed (particularly in the side missions). That being said, I still had some fun with it and even went far enough as to unlock all skills for Silver, Shadow, and Sonic (Sonic's is by far the most time-consuming of those).

Sonic Unleashed is a better game, and even better yet is Generations, so if you start there you'll find it only improves.

In regards to your status in Legend of Mana...there are plenty of concurrent (and largely irrelevant) plot arcs strewn about between a few big ones (all which serve to confuse the player), but basically the main goal of the game is to restore the world and the power of mana to its former glory. Everything you do up to the game's finale is essentially just a means to this end.
