Or something like a Defend Rolf and/or Mist mission. Or even a series of missions. Like you have to defend Mist, which gets Ike and Titania on your side, then you have to rescue Rolf which gets you Oscar and Boyd. I don't now what they'd do about the others. Shinon could probably come in with Rolf. Gatrie would probably join with Mia (that player ).

It would be great if they just made a DLC mission in which you fight them all, and their company joins once you beat them. Or maybe you have to pay an outstanding amount of money to hire them, or something like that. I don't care as long as I can have Mia .

I guess. I don't know. It didn't bother me too much. It even kind of grew on me.

Yeah, I do want to play FE9 eventually. I don't think I'll be able to get a copy before Awakening though...I also want to give the Japan-only entries as try too.

Why not all of them? I think the issue with the Greil Mercenaries is that unless they add all of them, they probably won't add any. Having Shinon without Gatrie isn't going to happen, as Shinon (as awesome as he is and probably is my favorite GM) just doesn't hold enough plot prominence to stand apart from the rest. At least I assume that's how it would go, despite my confusion at the FE6 character choice (seriously, Thany?).

I actually started playing Seisen no Keifu a while ago. And I'm thoroughly impressed. Turns out a lot of elements in the Americanized Fire Emblem games come from that; supports, abilities (like Nihil and Wrath), and some other aspects originated there. I especially love the castle system

Unless it was announced within the last few days, I don't think so. But it seems they're starting from FE1/11 and working their way up. Strangely they skipped FE7 altogether, which is really shocking what with all the likable characters in that game (Heath, Priscilla, Dart, Florina, Rebecca, to name a few). I imagine it won't be long though. The Greil Mercs have a superb fanbase. Ideally, it'd be really sweet to play as Greil himself.

Haha, true~ I'm wish I had played all the prior games now. I've only played the ones brought over to the west (minus FE9). So the older fan service is going to go over my head. I'm definitely happy to see support conversations making a return. The lack of support conversations was what I found most disappointing with Shadow Dragon. I didn't even find the art that bad. It was different and I preferred the earlier art, but it wasn't that bad.

I agree. Nino was one of my favorites in FE7, partly because it was a nice excuse to use Jaffar as well and get their A support.

Unless I misread the article, Kakusei is going to have characters you can obtain from StreetPass. When you meet them, you can either pay them or fight them to get them to join you, or pay to buy their items. But the selection is strange; Thany, Wolt, Linde, Nabarl, Ogma, and other lesser characters. There are some plot-relevant characters though; Minerva, Innes, and the non-playable queen from Shadow Dragon whose name escapes me. At least I wonder what made them choose Thany over the other dozens of Pegasus Knights (I probably would've picked Est), Wolt over other Archers, etc.

None of my units were holding up but Micaiah, and a frail Light Mage an army does not make, so I ended up dropping this run. If and when I give it another go, I'm going to have to bench some people early rather than use them all to see how they progress; Meg's stats may shine at some point, but her lack of versatility makes her dead weight on most of Part 1. I really dislike how crappy Zihark is for a starting Swordmaster. Barring HP, Edward was beating him in every stat when I got to that chapter.

I really don't know what they're thinking with Micaiah. Eirika's is possibly more ludicrous; she's a Bride class, which uses Lances, Bows, and Staves (read: not Swords?). I guess depending on the supports you use in Sacred Stones, that's viable (I always A support her with Innes), but she could at least be a battle-ready class. From what I understand in Kakusei, any female can promote into Bride with Bride's Bouquet. Not really sure what to think of that; could you imagine a female Wyvern Knight doing that, or one of the quintessential loner girls? The supports in Kakusei show a lot of feminism in the female class, so adding a class called Bride seems like a bad joke.

Although, Ephraim's artwork makes him look like a hardass.

The non-Lord character choice is interesting. You can get Gharnef from Shadow Dragon, but not Camus, who I think would've been a first pick for an added character from SD. Fuuin no Tsurugi features Wolt and Thany, which again, I find odd. I'm seriously anticipating a full Thracia 776 translation so I can play that to recognize the characters (and because the Seisen no Keifu saga is the best in the series, says Serenes Forest forums).

I don't like the mission where you meet Zihark, Jill, and Tauroneo. Or the marsh level. Or the Dawn Brigade's last chapter. I don't remember the Micaiah solo, but I'm going to quit trying to max her early if she has one; she's already level 13 on chapter 5. Nolan's pretty behind in stats, as per my terrible luck with Fighters in every FE I play. If not for Edward's lack of durability, he would be perfect right now; he's level 9 and has gained strength, skill, and speed on every level up. Leonardo is as useful as an Archer with a stupid skill will ever get.

All of the chapters with Micaiah's army are painful for me. Those are the ones I have to retry a couple of times to get through them, because most of her army is awful, or at least incomparable to the others (Aran over Nephenee? pssh).

Speaking of Micaiah, have you seen her Kakusei artwork? It's so inappropriate.
You can be a general, or you can be dinner. I don't really care which... But do try to show a little initiative, would y
