Holy crap man thanks for that really detailed description, I appreciate it! I've heard about the Homebrew Channel before but I don't really know much about that scene to be honest. In general I've stayed far away from pirating because I prefer to play games on their original systems and I don't want to get in the habit of just downloading everything instead of paying like a lot of people do (even tho I have little money).

Of course I realize you're talking about it in the sense of setting up the Wii to play import games, but since it is "Homebrew" and it's kind of on that edge, I've stayed away from it. Very interesting though. I'm in America so I technically could just buy a Japanese Wii, but your probably right that it's not worth the hassle to do it legit.

Speaking on that subject, what are your thoughts on piracy and the like? The only games I have ever pirated is EarthBound Zero, EarthBound and EarthBound 3. It's really sad that Nintendo even forced someone like me, who's always been 100% against piracy and bought many digital Wii games, to pirate. It's sad because i waited as long as possible before finally breaking down and just downloading EarthBound and playing it on PC. i waited until the end of 2013!!!!!!! While I was doing my playthrough Nintendo decides to release it. :/ lol. I don't have a Wii U anyway though. I went on to play the other two (haven't finished Mother 3 yet) and it's really sad that Nintendo hasn't released those yet. I don't know what they are doing. Why they dislike money.

I have a friend whose like me, but he lives in The Netherlands. 100% antipiracy, he finally got so frustrated with waiting for his favorite N64 games, that he bought an N64 system, then a flashcart, and loaded with all the games. I guess he's finally given up his noble position for convenience and thrift.

I've considered the same, since I really want to play through the Pokemon games. However I don't like the way emulators, from what I've seen, are never 100% accurate and the sound is often off. And that's a HUGE part. I downloaded a bunch of games for my bro, and we were playing Peace Keepers, and it was so off that it bummed me out. lol. I want to play them with original controllers too though, even though like EarthBound they are RPGs so that doesn't matter too much. To play them hardcopy I probably have to get one with a new battery though, so it is a hassle. But I like having that dedication & not just downloading it for free lol.

Haha! Collecting Japanese Wii games, that IS weird! :P But awesome! I can totally understand how someone could get crazy addicted to importing and sucked into that expensive hobby. It's like collecting toys. I try to avoid it because I know if I look too hard I WILL want to buy them and they are SOOO expensive. I'm a huge Power Ranger fan so I likely will start buying some of the crazy-awesome new Power Ranger toys they have... but it is a slippery slope lol.

I actually did not know that the Wii was region-locked, or rather I forgot. I remember now that the PS3 is region-free and so is the.... DS? Yes DS is region free I think. I'd appreciate a quick primer on which systems are region-free if you have that knowledge. Feel free to throw retro systems in there too. :D

That's so awesome that Metroid: Other M's menus & such are in English! Even though I'm not into Japanese anime & I prefer dubbed to subbed (not sure why lol), I'm very curious about the Japanese VO and I really would love to import Other: M now that I've seen that awesome Japanese box-art. So how can you play imported games on an American Wii? is it possible? Would the best way to play it be to import a Japanese Wii? Can a Japanese system plug into an American wall socket?

Sucks to hear that Yoshi's New Island isn't that great. I did a review of Yoshi's Island DS and also found it to be lacking... It was weird. It's hard to tell WHY it was lacking. Gameplay-wise they had all the pieces and it even had great level design, but it just somehow lacked HEART. It was perfectly capable, but something just was off. Although I'd be curious to play it again and see if I still feel the same way, as I hated New Super Mario Bros. DS until I was forced to do a guide for it, and I was finally able to appreciate the level design once forced to get all the Star Coins.

Hahahaa, I've never seen that before! :D Sentai is like anime... I'd love to watch it, but there is so much of it and I don't know where to begin. And my nature would force me to start from the beginning lol. >_< That was fun though! :D Thanks for the video!

Wow I saw you post that Japanese Metroid: Other M that you got! :O I've never imported a game in my life but now I'm adding that to my wish list! Just BEAUTIFUL!

I'm not a "fan" of Japanese voice overs or anime, but having said that, how do you enjoy the Japanese voices? I definitely would find it worth replaying just to hear that, already knowing the English. Are there any other differences? Also can you play them on an American Wii? What about an American Wii U?

Yes!! It is a great entry in the Mario Golf series. The online tournaments add so much more to it and are a lot of fun to play to earn extra items.

Indeed, a portable Cave Story is pretty great! The WiiWare one was the first that I played and now I have the original PC edition, Cave Story+, an unofficial port of the original PC game to PSP, and Cave Story 3D for the 3DS. Cave Story+ has some extra content (another section, Wind Fortress) not found in the other versions (although the 3DSDL version might have it). Enjoy the portable bliss!

Oooh, you got Cave Story! That is one of my favorite indie games ever, hope you enjoy it!
