★★★★★ This game is the goat. Easily the best aesthetic, lore, and sound design in the entire series. The bosses may not be consistent in their quality, but the game easily makes up for that by also having some of the best boss fights that Fromsoft has to offer. This game easily has the best areas in the series too. 10/10 game and one everyone should experience.

I never thought I'd be playing a remake of this game but here we are. It's fantastic so far!

Eh, pretty much the same here man, uni keeps messing up my gaming schedule, there are so many Souls games that I want to complete but don't have time to..

I heard a lot of good things about those games, but never got into them, so if I do, I would like to start from the original, even if it's old as hell and not as good as the rest. If that does not work out, would you say that P3 is a good starting point?

Let's goooo!
Don't want to overhype you, but it is my fav game of all time, just after Bloodborne, and while Bloodborne is better, Ds2 just means so much more to me overall, I just love the immaculate vibe it has, like playing trough some bizarre dream that never ends, idk man, something about it so nostalgic, like coming back to old friends. A few important notes, prepare for the game to FEEL weird, you will have to get used to it, the flow of combat, movement, and rolling, and remember to level up your adaptability, it is that one meme stat that is actually super important and the game does not tell you anything about it, so just be at the lookout for that!

P.S. And remember to have fun!

That is giving me a lot of hope! I would love to have that same experience, but only time will tell, I still have unfinished business with both Demon's Souls and Bloodborne before I play Ds3, let alone Sekiro, then again, I might be much better at video games at that point in the future as well! Not even mention how I like to take a few months, sometimes a year to play a big game that I look forward to, I just like taking my time with it and also completing previous games in the franchise, it took me a few years to platinum Dead Space 1 before I moved to Dead Space 2.

Bloodborne was just so damn consistent with everything that I can see why everyone who told me to play it said that it was perfect, even if something is not all that good there are other elements that improve where other aspects lacked, like certain areas that might be more annoying having awesome bosses and the other way around. The only other game that is more consistent is Demon's Souls, fantastic areas and awful bosses, not all, but most, like, 90%, while Dark Souls 2 shines in that inconsistency, it is in fact so goddamn inconsistent that it loops around to being very consistent. Most areas in Ds2 don't feel interconnected, every time you finish an area the next one will be completely different in the tone, colors, enemies, and everything, but that also means that Ds2 has some of the most visually gorgeous areas in all Souls games and best hub, Hunter's Dream is beautiful, but Majula, Majula is that one place that just brings a tear to your eye. Beautiful sunset and cliffs while listening to the magical OST in combination with the sound of waves hitting the cliff, God it is prefect, if there is one thing every Souls player agrees then it is that Majula is perfect.

That area was really Dark Souls for Bloodborne, but it resides outside Yharnam, so it makes sense. I too loved that area, but my God, that front yard with those flee-woman enemies was brutal, they might be my least favorite enemie in the game to fight. Lot of people say that Brain-suckers are the worst, but they are super weak to bolt damage, even a minimal bolt upgrade makes them trivial, for some reason, no matter which kind of weapon I had there, those flee bitches were a bane of my existence.

Well, at least it was not Sekiro, I hear that it is the most difficult Souls game, simply because of the parry mechanics in the game. Elden Ring is the only Souls game made by Fromsoft that I never played in any capacity. I played a tutorial of Ds3 and explored few areas on a friend's Ps4, and played the beginning of Sekiro at friends PC, it will get a long time to get used to that gameplay lol

That is definitely the biggest praise most people give to that game, and from little I played the beginning portion of the game, I can totally see why. I do have to be brutally honest, bosses are not all that important to me, I prefer level design and the vibes of the areas, but good bosses can enhance the experience for sure. Honestly Ds3 to me felt like the combination of Ds1 and Bloodborne strangely enough, from the speed of the game all the way to the art style, can't wait to get back into it!

Hey no shame in admitting haha, I also skipped DMC2 since everyone says that it is ass, but I did not know about the Ds2 hate when I bought it and it did wonders. Same situation with the Star Wars prequels back in the day, never hated them since I never knew people online didn't like them before the release of the sequel trilogy. Just go into it with the open mind, hopefully you will find some enjoyment in it!

Oh I agree 100%! The level design is super satisfying because of those shortcuts, I also love that the game has such varied level design and yet every area feels so unique in it's own way, such a fun and messed up world design. I agree with the lacking main game bosses, but I expected that, all Souls games I played thus far have that same issue, especially Demon's Souls, those bosses are very simplistic, but it was the first game so that was expected. Don't forget Martyr Logarius! That boss fight was pure adrenaline, for me it was second most aggressive boss, second only to three Orphan.

That first experience is always the hardest, Bloodborne was much harder than Ds1, but my first time with Ds1 was bloody embarrassing, Bell Gargoyles, I died to Bell Gargoyles over 50+ times, I was stuck on them when I first played for few days, good riddance they are one of the easiest bosses in the game!

I will play Sekiro, but first Dark Souls 3, I like to play games in the release order, but before I jump into it I will platinum Demon's Souls and Bloodborne, after that it is Ds3 time!

Well to each his own, I personally just dont vibe with the art style and theme I guess.
Yeah the dodging really cought me off guard but I guess that's my fault for expecting it to work like in souls.
I used the strength build with the big sword that was one of the 3 options at the start I believe.
But I also never really played soulslike games except of course fromsoft ones but Lord's of the fallen is looking really good, especially in the visual department.

Yeah i prefer the gothic art style of dmc3 over the one in dmc5 and even dmc4 but those are great games as well, 5 especially.

My last build was focused on the kirkhammer which was very fun, some nice pounding with the hammer and the sword has a very nice and fun moveset.

What are your thoughts on Lies of P? I played the demo and could not finish it, found the look of the game boring and the controls did not feel good at all. The very obvious bloodbonre influence rubs me the wrong way as well, feels more like a cash grab than a bloodborne inspired artistic vision.
