Don't worry about the wait; I'm very patient when it comes to that. Ask and you shall receive, my dear: [Link] 4's final dungeon can be tricky, especially the last boss; he sometimes takes a high level to beat. My lady's a big fan of long, silver hair, too. Well, Nina's situation is similar to Terra's, but much sadder; even her character portrait conveys such a deep sadness in the original SNES version; they changed the portraits for the GBA remake, and not for the better in that case. The first Breath of Fire is kinda generic, but solid; the second isn't quite as good, but does some experimenting, and has a great story; the third is my absolute favorite for many reasons; the fourth is very good, but not as good as 3; and Dragon Quarter doesn't exist, as far as I'm concerned.

There technically isn't a Final Fantasy on the Game Boy, but there were 3 SaGa games and a Seiken Densetsu ( ______ of Mana) games that were titled Final Fantasy Legend and Final Fantasy Adventure respectively so that they'd sell overseas. I took one look at 9 and fled in terror; a game that only just begins in the postgame isn't something that I have time for, especially since takes over 200 hours. It actually might be on PSN; I'm not sure. It was kind of a hit, but that was mostly because it was a Squaresoft game on PS1; that's the only reason anyone played Einhander and Ehrgeiz. You WHAT!? On what difficulty level!? If you say anything higher than Normal, I'm going to be seriously impressed! Even Normal would be difficult, I'd say.

I'm not a huge fan of Zelda music; I find most of it is atmospheric and not terribly memorable. Of course, the NES titles were a great exception to that, but I attribute that more to the chiptune than anything else; it's hard to have chiptune music that just fades into the background. I find that video games are like a sundae, with gameplay as the ice cream and everything else as the toppings. You can have the most delicious strawberry syrup ever, but if it's over something gross (like tuna-flavored ice cream), then you're going to have a bad experience. Remove the ice cream and just drink the syrup (say, watching it on YouTube), and it's pleasant again, though it's missing something. Ohhh... Strategy and I simply do not get along; I'm too much of a bulldozer and my spatial reasoning problems cause troop placement to leave me very flustered.

It's not difficult only for you, the game is truly hard!--and yep, long. But I think that's the game's charm (it's a weird game, also.)

There's no big secret, just put everything on your side. Make resonance points, use triangle formation attacks, jump a lot, build big scratch damage charges on everyone's armors, clean with handguns last, repeat for main bodies.
You level up everytime you level a weapon, so try to switch to the lowest next-level-exp weapon as frequently as you can endure it. Scrap a lot of things in order to fabric optimal custom parts, optimize guns with custom parts.
At the... let's say 3/4 of the game you'll be able to unlock armor-piercing rounds/grenades (by getting gold coins at the arena, and that's -unfortunately- a good opportunity to grind.) you can full scratch (body and armor) pretty much any boss with a well charged one, then kill it in one shot with a handgun bullet. (though I beat the game without them.)
I admit getting depressed by the difficulty sometimes, but I think it was worth beating it.

The guy who made the soundtrack also scored Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile, and another big favorite: Mario Tennis.

My favorite Final Fantasy is and I'm fairly certain always will be 4, though my favorite one on PS1 is 9 by a lot; I love that skill system! That and it's absolutely gorgeous; I'm actually going to be writing an article about one of its locations this month. It's due for publication on November 18th, if you're interested. There are a few leading ladies that I really love: Terra from Final Fantasy 6, Nina from Breath of Fire 2 (if you count her as leading), Rose from Legend of Dragoon, and Lenneth from Valkyrie Profile (not that I have a thing for silver hair <.< >.> <.<, just to name a few.

Final Fantasy or Dragon Warrior on the Game Boy? I don't remember a Dragon Warrior on the game boy, though I did play Final Fantasy Legend (all 3 of them), but I didn't really like them. In fact, the only game in the series (called SaGa in Japan) that I did like was SaGa Frontier. It was a total fluke; a perfect storm. You're just a few years older than my sister, but several years younger than I; she and I are pretty far apart for consecutive siblings.

Well, it's not entirely a Shooter, since you have melee attacks and your ammo is extremely limited, but I don't think you can easily beat the game without a gun, and I suck at using them. It's weird; I'm a pretty good shot with a real gun - as in real life - but I can't play Shooters for some reason. I had the same problem with Skyward Sword, and I know how to use a real sword quite well. I guess it's the same as my sister; she's a brilliant guitarist - she was playing Pink Floyd's The Wall within an hour of getting her first guitar - but she can't play Guitar Hero to save her life. My game heirarchy goes thus: gameplay, graphics, scenario (story, characters, and style), and sound in that order. I love a good soundtrack - I have almost 1800 video game songs and will likely have more before the month is out - but if a soundtrack is bad, you can just mute it and put on your own music. As for scenario, Mega Man has done extremely well without having any kind of story for more than 20 years, so as long as the game is fun and pretty, I'm good. My sister and I are also pretty close, despite being almost polar opposites. We share a lot of the same experiences, so people think we're very much alike, but those who actually know us know better.

I think it's a good game; the allegory to our own world's energy situation is incredibly poignant, and the materia system supports a fairly wide array of playstyles. Not my favorite Final Fantasy, and it's my least favorite of the 3 on PS1, but still a good game to which I return every now and again. I have no idea how she managed not to have had that spoiled for her; it blows my mind. The world that revolves around Kid is definitely an intriguing one, I'll give you that.

The NES-era ones were a lot less about story and much more about leveling up to reach the next goal. It takes a much different mindset to enjoy them than to enjoy modern RPGs, but every now and again, I crave such an experience. I'm not as big a fan of the original Final Fantasy, but seeing anything about a Dragon Warrior game usually causes me to wax nostalgic about my days as a little legendary warrior. I'd run around the yard (and even the beach) with my plastic armor set, saving the world and spouting Elizabethan English, even though I was only maybe 4 or 5 at the time. I was a strange child, though I grew out of it and became a strange adult. If you grew up with them, though, you must be a bit older than I'd thought.

It just really looked like a cover-based Shooter (the chest-high walls are for cover) to me, and after my recent miserable failure attempt at The Last of Us, I know for sure that it isn't my genre. I like the idea of changing your armor color, but I don't think that's quite enough for me to play it. In a Shooter, I'm like a fish out of water, unless it's Turok or rhymes with Retroid Mime. I love how close you and your sister seem to be.
Treasure time, kupo!
