With the sole exception of Call of Duty 2 for the 360, which I download off XBLA, I’ve played nothing but RPGs for nearly two months. Since this is probably going to continue for most of the year, it means that I won’t be beating as man... (read more)

How was your trip to Japan? Yeah, the tutorial is long, but very helpful. I don't think it should be a problem if you don't mind long tutorials. =) For me, I just find the chapters/scenes from 35+ to be really long and with no save feature in the actual scenes (just between scenes), it's hard to play KitN between studying. I don't really like putting my DS into sleep mode because I often forget about it. If I've got a hour or two to spare, then KitN is the perfect game. I missed Yggdra Union. But I have heard about how challenging it is and I don't think KitN is that challenging. It has a resume feature, which saves all the process from the previous fight when you try it again. (Basically all enemies you have killed remain killed and if it's a boss, his/her HP is transferred over so you will eventually kill it if you continue to resume. Items you have gained are also kept when you resume). Of course for those who like a challenge there is also the retry, which starts the fight from the original conditions. I find the game is great for everyone. So you should definitely give it a try if you can.I heard Sting is porting their cell phone game, Yggdra Unison to the DS and supposedly there is a bundle offering the GBA Yggdra Union along with it. If Atlus localizes it, I really hope they also provide the bundle, since I missed Union the first time around and I don't have a PSP. And, Dept. Heaven/Sting is becoming a favourite of mine. ![]() That's the only reason I still go into physical stores: to hunt for deals and rare games. Once you've tried online shopping, it's hard to go back. The only downside, which I learned today, is that preorders take longer to deliver since Canada Post is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. No pokemon SoulSilver for me until Monday. ![]() There is something about owning a physical copy of a book. I read online scanlations, but I still like owning the actual hard copies of my favourite manga. I've been reading Claymore online and I still want to purchase the physical copies.

It's awesome. Great music. Country is a nice change from Persona 3's cityscape. All in all I'm enjoying it much more than the somewhat chore-like P3.

The combat system was unique and I commend Eternal Sonata for it. It got a bit repetitive, but a repetitive battle system isn't anything I haven't seen before in an RPG XD It would probably be more interesting in the Hard setting, where I'd have to strategize more. I should also learn to Counter Attack better!! I didn't mind so much the length of the ending. It wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't so confused as to what exactly was going on, lol. Before playing the game, I had already heard a lot about the storyline being confusing. Throughout the game, though, I felt I understood it pretty well, even to the point of the final fight and why I was fighting that certain someone. But as soon as Polka started talking.. I was instantly lost. Lol. I watched the rest of the ending hoping they would clear up why Polka did what she did.. And then I got pissed when I never got a full explanation, haha. I did some research online regarding the ending after though, and that cleared up things for me, so now that it all makes sense, I guess it ended well! The preachiness during the credits was a tad corny though =/

How are you liking Jeanne D'Arc? It seems like something I'd like but I've had mixed luck with SRPGs.

I don't think I ever replied to your comment on P4. Thanks! I really did enjoy it and I agree. P3 was much more difficult, but P4 was still a great experience.

Did the SO2 final boss give you a lot of trouble? I remember I spent a while trying, then dying, then redoing my set up, then dying... xD

Oh, and I meant to tell you that the music tournament has started back up again at the RPGDL. [Link] The main division is video game tracks, but there are also smaller divisions for anime music and video game remixes. You've got until March 17th to enter your list of tracks.

Thanks. In roughly the two hours I've played so far, I've already gotten two game overs, over a couple of silly things, like running into stronger monsters and attempting to fend them off. It seems like one of those RPGs where you have to learn from your mistakes.

Yeah, I haven't tried to face Indalecio/Gabriel without the limiter yet. I would get reamed, and I don't feel like doing extra grinding just to survive that fight. Maybe some day I'll get around to it, but not today. Ashton's absence will suck at first, but Opera is a good character too. When I played Star Ocean 2, I used the following parties. For Claude's path, I used Ashton (main), Precis, Celine, and Rena. For Rena's path, I used Opera (main), Claude, Bowman, and Rena. You know, just in case you were curious.

Thanks! Using all the pro tips, I managed to beat it. I was sick of the last dungeon (having done it 3 other times already and failed) so I had a grind fest to 59 for safetys sake. Now just Final Fantasies II & XIII left. ![]()

That's true I need to max their support level on my next play through as well. I agree, Shadow Dragon was a disappointment. No support conversation and sacrificing units to get gaiden chapters were very poor design choices. The only good thing (design wise) that Shadow Dragon did was the harm button. I still enjoyed it because the game play mechanics were recognizably fire emblem and that was enough for me. Thanks, I hope to find it used somewhere. I did play Radiant Dawn however, and I was disappointed with how simple and uninteresting the support conversations were (I hope they are better in Path of Radiance). Everything else was well done (well I also didn't like the how the game was broken up into 4 different parts...but the support conversations were my major annoyance.) KitN: So far so good. I like the genre blending. My only problem is how long the fights take to complete now in the final parts of the game. It's hard to finish it because I have to allocate an hour per scene for it and I usually don't have that kind of time unless it's a slow week at school. But other then that, the game is lots of fun and it's become one of my favourite DS games. =) Sorry for the massive response ^^;;;;
