Its not like division. Its more like farcry. Enemies are not bullet sponges. Its ok. Its a lot mindless clear the map type game. They said coop is fun but i havent played coop. Story is paper thin but i kind of fill in the story because i love elite military squad games/movies. I olay it while listening to a podcast.

Yeah I really liked Defence Grid 2 - I'm a big fan of tower defence games and it is definitely one of the better ones! I re-visited the first game today as I never beat it and my god it's so much harder!

I am definitely happy with the pricing....especially since all of the games have their manuals and cases.

I was unaware of the fact that Steel Battalion required a special setup to play. Thanks for the heads up on that. As for the Guitar Hero games, I was aware of the controller situation there...but won't the Guitar Hero games work with regular controllers? It seems as though I read something to that effect....though I could be mistaken. In any case, even if you could use a regular controller it would seem a bit odd to play GH games with them.

Thanks! The good thing about that huge lot is that most of the sport games were only $0.25 and the rest of the games were only $0.75! The lot I am about to add has the same pricing and consists of only PS2 and XBOX games.....141 in total...128 games @ $0.75/piece and 13 @ $0.25/piece. The last lot will be finished once I get Zathura for the XBOX added in.

Update: Zathura has been added......Time to add the games not in the lots.

I actually found that test cartridge in the wild many years ago and just recently realized I had never added it to my backloggery lol. It is the one piece of my collection that stands on its own. Crazy rare and to find it at Value Village 10 yrs ago for $2 is the best find I'll ever have.

So all of your PS2's have the same issue. Well....nix my suggestion about piecing a couple together from the stack of duds. I am sure that if you could come across the replacement lenses you would be able to get them working again. Surely there are tutorials to show you how to put the lenses in.

I am unsure whether or not I have games that require the use of a date in the programming. The only game I have played is Super Bowl Sunday. I will say that it didn't recognize one of the discs but I can't say for sure that Y2K had anything to do with it.

I don't recall the sports games that I played as being too complicated with regard to the controls. However, I must admit that I really didn't play any sports games after the PS1 so I have no idea how NFL, NBA, NCAA, NHL, etc are these days. You would know better than I would about newer titles. Don't get me wrong...I do have newer pro sports games than those on the PS1....I just haven't played them yet. It's funny that you mention Rocket League. I actually have that game and enjoy it as well. I assume that the Base Wars game to which you are referring is the one for the NES, right?

So wait....If a person turned a $9.99 game back in because he/she didn't like it, the game would be destroyed???? I imagine Gamestop probably didn't have too many occasions in which a new game sold for less than a used copy....but it must have happened at some point or you wouldn't have mentioned it. Wow...I had no idea Gamestop allowed their employees to check out new games.....and then sell them as new anyway. That is totally dishonest. I would even go so far as to say that is probably against the law. If not, it should be....after all, that is false advertising. As for the DS carts, I can honestly say that I don't recall ever seeing a complete DS game in a Gamestop. All I have seen is the carts. If they did reverse the decision to throw away the cases and manuals, it must have been in the last year or so. I contacted them about buying a complete copy of Retro Game Challenge and was told that none were available but that they could get a cart only copy. I had heard about the online vintage game sales but am waiting to see if they are going to bring retro gaming back into their brick and mortar locations. As you may know I am a bit picky regarding the condition of labels and, in some cases the completeness of the games. I would rather see before I buy than the other way around.

Hanging onto systems that kick the bucket isn't a bad idea when you consider that older systems are no longer being made. An idea just struck me.....Would it be possible to combine components for the "duds" together and get a few working systems out of the deal? Surely not all of them have the same part(s) malfunctioning.....

That is odd. I don't suppose my Commodore 64 is going to have that problem as I have seen no ill effects yet. Perhaps it is a problem that is peculiar to the Apple II???

Perhaps an opportunity will avail itself. You just never know what the future holds. I went to school with this kid that was in a gang that bullied me. We disliked each other and never even talked. Before he moved away, we became friends. Obviously this circumstance isn't the same but the end result can be. Only time will tell. He may actually approach you. You never know.

Graphics wasn't what drew me to games as a kid. Growing up on the Atari 2600 taught me that it was better to have a game that is fun than one that has tremendous graphics. XBOX and PS2 graphics are sufficient for sports games. What more do you really need? I mean....What's next?....Perhaps losing some teeth while playing a hockey game on the XBOX One. Honestly I don't know how much further they can go with regard to realism anyway.

I suppose that you have to take the good with the bad.....but some of that stuff is ridiculous....especially destroying stuff and throwing items in the garbage rather than letting someone have it. However, I did happen to get my PS3 Twisted Metal displays from a Gamestop so perhaps they have changed their policies????? I don't know... What I do know is that they don't sell vintage and, when they sold DS games, I never saw one complete....only the cart. I rarely set foot in a Gamestop but if they ever sold vintage games, I would probably be in there on a daily basis.

It's as if 8-bit Master was swallowed up by a black hole. I hope nothing happened to him. It is a shame about the falling out between you and gs. I remember that happening but can't remember why. Perhaps in time things can be patched up again. I hope so.

As for WoF2.....Wow...I wonder what the point of making a new game was? Still....at least it isn't like these sports games. Every year a "new" game comes out....and there really isn't that much difference between the newest addition and it's predecessors....change a few names tweak the stats and voila!!...a "new" game. What a gyp! Yeah....they add a feature or two but really that is more insulting than anything else....I mean why didn't they add that in years earlier? The answer....greed. I haven't bought a "new" sports game in over a decade. All of my sports games come from the proverbial bargain bin nowadays. Rant over....We now return you to your regularly scheduled program already in progress.

I guess that being a manager at Gamestop isn't all bad. There are some advantages.

BTW, did you show me that copy of Space Impact when I visited? I can't remember.....Sounds cool though.

I am not sure how much PS2s are going for these days but, if the price was high enough, I would be tempted to try and get mine fixed rather than purchase another one. Keep in mind that I say this not knowing the cost of buying one. Still you have had the worst time with the PS2. I suppose that I should count myself fortunate that the only systems I have had brick out on me was an original XBOX and an SNES.

Glad to hear that not all of your Dreamcast discs were lost.

With regard to the cabinet.....If you are happy with the XBLA port of the game, that's all that counts in the long run. It is good that is the case as it is easier to take the loss when you know you have a good replacement. As for the C64 and Apple II....I thought that the Y2K effects were just a rumor. I know that my C64 doesn't seem to be affected though I have only played one game on it so I don't know about the affects with regard to programming.

I will probably have to address the rest of your last post a little later. My laptop is about to go out.

If they are yours forever, that isn't so bad.....though even still I would rather have a hard copy. I suppose there are pluses and minuses on both sides. I know that if space is at a premium, digital games obviously would be a better choice from a practical point of view. You have heard me joking about my games forcing me out into the yard but I would honestly stop collecting if it came to that. Also, you don't have to be concerned about scratched discs and a game not playing with digital copies. As you mentioned earlier, digital games are cost effective most of the time. I can see why you would choose that route.

Sorry to hear about the C64 and Dreamcast games as well as you TMNT 2 cabinet. I had no idea that the Dreamcast disc art was so cheaply done. It's a good thing I haven't come across any DC games with stickers on them. It's a shame that you couldn't fit that TMNT 2 cabinet onto the truck. If I had to make the decision you made, it would have been a tough call. I really hate that for you. Here's hoping that you can find a replacement for a reasonable cost.

Oh....You were correct; I was thinking of Gamesniper. I don't think I ever talked to 8-Bit Master online. Wasn't he already gone from the forum when I arrived? I believe so but you would know better than I.

That's really cool to have a complete collection of games in that condition. I am only missing 1 game: Wheel of Fortune 2. So......I have a question: What is the difference between Wheel of Fortune and Wheel of Fortune 2?

Just Asphalt Urban GT 2........I lack 15 games. Among those missing are High Seize, Mile High Pinball, Catan, both Atari compilations......and, of course, Asphalt Urban GT 2. You must have gotten most of them when Nokia was still putting the games out......am I right?
