My Goal is to keep the unfinished games percentage below 10% at all times.
Games that I have played, but are not longer able available for me to complete (such as Quest 64, for the N64, that I rented from Block Buster years ago) I have nulled as it is no longer possible to complete the game, without repurchasing the system, controllers, and game. Since the purpose of a backloggery to clear backlogs of games that you own, to get the most out of games for the money spent on them, and to keep track of accomplishments of games you are playing, have played, and haven't beaten yet.
I also would like to state, that I honestly do not cheat in any games that I play, whether it be by Gameshark or GameFAQS (although there is no harm in using GameFAQS once you have prove you can beat the game, to see if there is anything else to do/unlock)
The goal isn't to compete with others for statistics, but merely to gauge yourself and your progress of beating the games that you already own. It teaches us to discipline the mind, and not to be easily defeated in a game, just because we die at a hard part. There are no excuses for having a large backlog of games, just laziness. As I believe if you really wanted to beat, or complete a game, that you would find a way, I make no excuses, like saying "I don't have time." If a game takes a lot of time, then play for just 15-30 minutes of the spare time you have on the days that you can, if you have a backloggery or are reading this, then you at least have some "spare" time.
Games are fairly expensive as it is, would it really hurt to at least beat the ones we have, before buying another "NEW" game that will eventually become part of the ever growing backloggery for some users?
I do have an older username that doesn't NULL games I no longer have access too, for a more hardcore form of seeing how I fair. If someone reading this is curious how I fair when compared to every game I have played in the past, even those I have no way of beating, you can find it under the username: Fallen_Riku
However, I don't play only to complete my backloggery, games were designed to be fun, and challenging, I pace myself, so that I don't miss (especially with the classics) some of the fundamental ideas, battle systems, and story lines that started it all.
I have a Anime/Gaming Journal, where I talk about Anime/Games I have watched/beaten respectively. It can be found at
