The Games of January 2016

Puppeteer (PS3, 2013) PRICE: $10 A delightful and unique platforming experience that was much too overlooked with a great presentation and visuals that haven’t aged. RATING: 4 out of 6 X-Men Origins: Wolverine (PS3, 2009) PRICE: $12 Pretty dece...

That I did. Will try to finish by the end of the week. Figured I would start with PS4 and Vita, since those were essentially nonexistent on my list.

Consider Yourself a Hero: Majority of games are beaten
I like Nier so far, but there are things that I find are getting in the way. Some sections go on too long without save points, the side-quests are rather boring, and they had one main mission which was reading pages and pages of text to get to solving rather simple word riddles. Thankfully the actual combat is fun enough to keep me invested so far, but I lose interest on the parts that are taking place in between the combat. If it was developed as more of a straight forward 3rd person action title than an RPG I think I would be liking it more. I'm looking forward to Platinum's version.

Minion of Bak'laag: 100+ unfinished games
Cursed: 10+ new games in a row
Confused: Playing 10+ games at once
It was awesome! I had a better experience with the game this time around. It's technically superior of the GTA PS2 games for its tight controls on shooting enemies and the driving aspect (especially driving). What I was most impressed with was the fact that there was no loading screens at all when going in-between areas of the game (GTA III, I'm looking at you!). Considering how big of a game San Andreas is, I have to give big props to Rockstar for utilizing the PS2's capabilities to fit in everything they could. Oh yeah, thank goodness for the ability to rotate the camera this time around!!!

I was even surprised by how deep the story went! That's really a first for a GTA game. I have to say that the characters are much more memorable here than they are even in Vice City, and that's a lot coming from me since I love that game. Top it off with a killer soundtrack, and you have yourself one of the best games ever made.

I still think Vice City trumps San Andreas and GTA III mostly because I was a sucker for its 80s theme. When it comes down to it, both Vice City and San Andreas deserve to be considered in the greatest games of all-time lists. They can throw away GTA III. It's not aged well at all...

Yup, and it was a good thing I held off until all of Life is Strange's 5 episodes were made available as opposed to "waiting" for them.

Magus was stupid fun, even though I skipped 60% of the story's dialogue due to not having any impact on the playthrough at all, lol.

I enjoyed the first two inFamous games quite a bit, so I'm looking forward to getting into this one more. They seem to be unnecessarily pushing touch pad controls, so hopefully that doesn't get too irritating. Aside from that, things are off to a good start I think.
