Good enough for me! Welcome aboard! Or, seeing as you're the ship in this situation, I'll welcome myself aboard.

Plus is a rental system. Games are free as long as you have a subscription. I would say it is not worth since your backlog is so big because you generally want to give yourself time to play the games on there.

PS+ is only worth it if you have time to actually play the provided games. You are basically paying to rent games over an extended period. It's good for games you want to play but don't necessarily want to pay full price for.

The discounting is decent, you can get some good games that way, but not enough things go on sale in comparison to PC gaming. You will get a couple things with amazing deals, and then a ton of older stuff that just goes completely ignored because it's not the hottest new thing.

It's a good value that loses appeal the less you play on Playstation systems.

Yeah, SP is short and fairly easy, but I just can't stop playing it. I've been a fan of the show since some kids brought in the first 2 volumes on VHS of the show into my father's store back in 1998. If you are a fan I'd recommend it. If not, wait until a price drop.

Hey fellow backloggers!

For those of you that use Playstation Plus, yay or nay? Is it worth it? I'm contemplating getting it, but I'm not sure I want to with mu huge backlog... Any advice welcome. Thanks!

Hi there. Just saw your message in my box. Apologies if it doesn't show up. I'm a little anal about how my page looks / is set up. I'm definitely hoping I can watch Game of Thrones soon. Generally I can't do much since I am usually swamped. Dexter looks very interesting. I am hoping it is more of an anti-hero type story akin to an anime called Monster. Something that gets your blood pumping, ya know? Not too many shows like that anymore.

Btw, did you used to go by Bowser on here? I could have sworn you had another account.

Very much so, it's a great game.

The controls are good, I was a tidbit flustered that the D-pad can't be used for movement but I quickly got over it as I realized how fluid the controls really are. It's not very difficult if you have experience with platformers and can keep up with the fast-paced nature of the game. The Strider series has always been somewhat fast-paced in one fashion or another.

Hope that helps.

Re: King's Field: My brother and I sometimes play the same game in tandem, while chatting/comparing notes over Skype. We thought King's Field would be a good candidate for this style of play (not every game works well like this, especially on a first play-through), and we were right -- it's been great to have a fellow adventurer to exchange hints and commiserate with (so many deaths!) I've also been able to pull translation duty, since I'm playing a US copy and he's playing a Japanese one

How neat that you have a 3D TV! One game that seems designed from the ground up to be seen in 3D is Puppeteer by the way -- lots of stuff flying at the screen ;p

Re: Suikoden -- oh man, that's only like one of my favorite JRPGs ever! I envy you getting to play it for the first time. The music in particular made a huge impression on me back in the day (it was the first game I played with CD quality audio as opposed to SNES-y chiptunes) (Not that I don't also love SNES-y chiptunes!).

I've not been paying attention to what games I own when buying at flea markets and so on. In so doing I started to accumulate duplicates rather quickly. I really only want one of each game, unless it is a collector's edition or HD remake, then I don't want duplicates.

I'm just trying to weed through and delete duplicates when I beat them. I own a Wii U already, so I am holding off on getting a PS4 for now. I have never played a Quake game before, I thought it would be like a mix of Duke Nukem and Doom.

I realistically am only playing 2 games at max at once. I lose some time figuring out what I was doing but only at max a few minutes.

I would say around € 250.

Strangely enough, most games were pretty cheap. All DS games are around € 10 , Gamecube and PC games went for € 3.

Gradius III was the most expensive one. Going for around € 70. Games that are boxed most of the time are doubled in price. I guess it just supply and demand.

Thanks! The banner's made of a photo I took when visiting the National Zoo. As for BD, yes, it's a VERY good sign. The game's definitely old-school, but I'm loving the way the job system is working. For example, I have all four characters in four different classes, but three of them can still cast black magic. It's pretty cool! Can't put it down.

I only paid $25! That's why I got it, it was such a good deal.

Cool story, those types of memories are priceless!

Panzer Dragoon Saga, Snatcher, Wild Guns, and the Fire Emblem Thracia 776 Deluxe Pack are my most valuable games right now. That's pretty sweet to have all those .hack games, I don't even have any of them. Are the games themselves any good?

Confused: Playing 10+ games at once
Nope, I have played FF VI before and I agree. It brings back so many good memories! I have beat it before, but I don't believe I ever got everything in the game. If I did it was probably with an emulator. As a kid, I always rented it and never owned a copy of the game, and it got increasingly harder to find, so I went down that route to play it.

I eventually owned a copy of FF Anthologies (w/V + VI) but had never got around to play it with backlog and all. Then I had the money problems a couple of years back (you might remember) where I sold some of my games. So I lost the game, but downloaded it on my PS3 as a classic.

And here we are today talking about it!

Ahh, hehe, I haven't played Beyond Oasis in over 15 years, while I played a Link to the Past just a few months ago. I'm not sure I can definitively say which I personally think is better, it's just really easy to mess with people who insist A Link to the Past is the greatest game ever made.

Yeah I've got it, but I haven't played it yet. I wanted to play them in order, but the 4th game isn't available on ios and I didn't want to spend $20 on an old DS game. I rented it instead and am playing it now.

Edit: If you want to try Ace Attorney, the first two cases (a tutorial and then one extra) in the ios collection are free. I wouldn't recommend buying it without trying it first, as it's more of a story you read than a game you play, and not everyone is into that sort of thing.

I loved Beyond Oasis as a kid. I also loved Zelda, but sometimes like to troll Zelda fans by saying Beyond Oasis is better than A Link to the Past.

It's really only similar to Zelda on the surface though. Once you play it enough it really becomes its own thing.
