Consider Yourself a Hero: Majority of games are beaten
RL is probably the best example of a "just one more match" kind of game. Every time I play I'll say "I'll stop playing in 15 minutes", then that rolls around, "umm... okay, 15 more", and by the time I know it 2 hours have gone by. So addictive.

I have been using the Gizmo almost entirely since I started playing the game and I have been enjoying it for the most part, but I feel like I should try the other cars out a bit more. I gave the Octane a shot last night and it does seem quite solid! I'll definitely put it some more playtime with it to see how I like it at the end of the day. Thanks for letting me know what you use in the game.

It's really great to hear that you're enjoying Ys: MoC so far! Definitely keep me posted on your thoughts as you progress deeper into the game. I hope you enjoy it the whole way through. It was definitely my favorite game on the Vita. I loved the story, characters, and gameplay. Also, it's one of the few games that I started up a new game immediately after finishing up my first run. Let me know how the rest of it goes. Oh, and if you're looking to play JRPGs the Vita definitely has tonnes to choose from!

I was never able to get into Kingdom Hearts but I'm glad to hear that you're excited for the games being released at the end of March. It definitely sounds like a great way to get a bunch of games. Do you know if the games will be getting remastered in any way or is it just a collection of the old games?

I will definitely check out Firewatch as soon as I can. It looks great and if you were so impressed by it I'm sure I'll end up enjoying it a lot too.

Good luck with your last three months! I hope it doesn't get too busy for you.

Haha. I have been pretty busy lately but I have finished up a few games recently. Finished Metro 2033 Redux, Rocket League (platinum at least... not done with the game though), and Dragon Quest Builders. I have kind of run out of games I want to play on the Vita though...

Take care, man.

Consider Yourself a Hero: Majority of games are beaten
Hi again,

I find that since the gameplay in Rocket League is so much that it doesn't get as frustrating to lose as other games might. The short matches and the addictive gameplay make it easy to jump into another match and hope you'll have better luck the next time around.

Just out of curiosity, what is your go to car in RL?

It's good that you enjoyed SoM. I get what you feel about open world games though. I just started up Arkham Knight and it's quite similar to SoM in a bunch of ways. Open world, collectibles, challenges, etc. I'm not really feeling it right now.

Definitely check of RotTR eventually. I think you'll definitely be impressed. Good plan to hold off until you're feeling the genre though so that you can fully enjoy it.

Metro 2033 was definitely worth playing through, so if you're ever in the mood for that type of game I'd definitely suggest looking into it. I plan on going through the sequel sooner or later.

Thanks for the recommendation on Firewatch. I have been intrigued by it since it was released but I have been waiting for a sale on it before giving it a shot. It sure sounds like you enjoyed it though. I will definitely be checking it out now (well... once it goes on sale)!

I'm glad to hear school hasn't been too busy, but you're probably right that the busy time will come soon enough. I hope it's going well. Good luck with the meeting with that company at the end of the month. I hope that goes well for you!

Thanks for the belated Backloggiversary wishes!

Take care!

No worries, man.

Rocket League is great! I have been pretty hooked on it lately. You're really right about it feeling so satisfying when you do well. On the opposite hand it can be really frustrating when you have a few good games and then have crap luck for a couple of games. Last night I played a great game though. I joined an already started match losing 0-5 and ended up scoring 4 goals to bring the final score to 4-6. Was pretty impressed with that, despite coming out of it with a loss.

It's great to hear that you played through Shadow of Mordor and that you had a good time with it. It's nice to play games that are different from what you typically play, so it's good to hear you had a fun time with it, despite it's flaws. I definitely agree with you that open-world games nowadays do feel quite same-y. I really felt that with Rise of the Tomb Raider.

As for my thoughts on RotTR, I really loved LOVED the game. It's a stunning game and the gameplay is incredibly solid. A huge improvement over TR2013, which was already a great game, so me saying that says a lot. It was just a whole lot of fun. That being said, once the story was finished I lost all interest in the game. The DLC was honestly pretty lame and I just couldn't motivate myself to go back for the collectibles this time around. There are sooooo many freaking collectibles in this game! Still, I say it is definitely worth playing through at least once. It is easily the action-adventure game I have ever played.

I am enjoying Metro 2033 so far. I wouldn't say it's an incredible game but it does have a really great setting and the gameplay is pretty solid. If you find the game for cheap and you're in the mood for a shooter I would definitely recommend it.

It's great to hear that you're still enjoying RL and Overwatch. I think it's totally okay to just play what makes you happy, even if it doesn't help with the backlog. That's how I've been feeling when I boot up RL. I know I could work towards beating something, but sometimes it's good to play a game because it's fun. Btw, this reminds me, I still need to get Overwatch one of these days. I just want it to drop in price a little bit more...

How has school been going for you this semester? Has it been keeping you busy? Just a few months left! Have you started looking at your employment options yet?

Take care, man.
