so right now, the only missions i have left are 63 and 64, and with my higher magic and new Genji Glove, 63 won't be a problem. i've felled quite a few of them with my new set-up, and i'm convinced that the amount of damage dealt with the spell plays a big part in the likelihood of insta-killing enemies with Death, because i hit plenty of 99999 Death spells before with no luck, but once i starting doing 200k+ damage, they starting falling with a FAR greater frequency.

the only one mark i've completed that i haven't 5 starred yet is Gigantaur. i'm gonna try a turtling approach with COM/SEN/MED with the COM equipped with High HP: Power Surge and Fire Damage +30%. i'll let you know how it works

It's still worth playing through Y1 first, though. It's always nice to be able to appreciate the evolution of a series instead of rushing straight into the newest entry in the series (coughRE5cough).

Yeah, the VA work is pretty dire in Y1 (the funny part is I seem to remember the VA cast in Y1 as being 'top-notch work'... uh, they have Mark Hamill and some other people), but given some of the games you've played, you should be able to deal with terrible VA all the same. Suck it up!

Nice job on Starting Yakuza 1 first eventhough they cover the story in Yakuza 3 on the main menu.
