I always enjoy looking at your review scores when you beat games! Are you planning to add small text to the review when the new backloggery site is out with the review tab?

I am also curious if you are planning on picking up Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge? I absolutely loved this game and I am interested on what you would think of it if you do ever play it.

Oh, I dare. How much of your love for Grand Theft Auto III can be attributed to nostalgia? Be honest now. I don't doubt that it was revolutionary and ambitious back in 2001, but playing it for the first time here in 2024...it really has not aged well.

To summarize: The story is bland, the combat controls are atrocious (I swear the lock-on feature just plain doesn't work), the driving controls are so slippery that it feels like I'm driving on ice, the characters are all shallow and unlikable, the missions are either boring fetch-quests or combat trials that are difficult to the point of being frustrating, and the world just felt so bland and generic that I had no desire to explore it like I do with other games in this genre.

I've played other GTA-esque games -- namely, Sleeping Dogs (which I thought was good) and Saints Row: The Third (which is one of my favorite games) -- so I was looking forward to playing through my first real Grand Theft Auto game. I wanted to like it, and I gave it what I believe is a fair chance, but man, it just disappointed me at every turn.

I'm sorry for speaking harshly about a game you like. Thank you, though, for giving me a chance to vent about it.
