What you had said about recent Shining entries seems to have held true so far because I literally quit playing halfway both through Neo and EXA. Just awfully designed and a waste of time.
Really sad. I ought to delve in the earlier entries as I had great fun with the GBA remake of the 1st one. I also am a fan of Silent Hill, though I've only finished 1 and 2. Silent Hill team nips it in the bud when it comes to atmosphere.

Wow, I can't believe I don't remember all of that... I must have received the normal ending, since that sounds about right. Maybe I looked away just long enough, after the credits started, to miss the part that follows? I have a tendency to update BL, or w/e else, while the credits roll. A bad habit it has proven to be, it seems.

Maybe, someday, I will attempt some of the other endings? Same with the second title. First though, I am considering giving in to the temptation of the third title!

Added a note in the wishlist entry for ZE: Virtue's Last Reward to avoid losing my save data. Thanks for the reminder of what the glitch was and how to spare myself from it! That would be absolutely terrible to have to start from scratch. Especially if you've already received a few of the endings.

Congratulations on your completion of it! How long of a wait for the third title? I recall seeing it on GameStop's website already, just can't remember the date... Not that it matters, for me, since I still have to repurchase and finish the second.

Man, in the first season of The Walking Dead, I remember sometimes having no choice but to do a terrible thing. Having to choose w/e you think is the lesser evil. That game was just brutal!

So far, the second season has wasted little time in bringing that feeling back... It's great! I need to get back to playing it!

I felt awful about that poor dog! Wanted a companion for at least a little while longer. And I must agree, the part of stitching your own arm up was just gut-wrenching. It took me a while to figure out how to even do it. With this new cast, I think it might be easier to do terrible things. I don't like them much yet... That dog would have made better company, I think.

Bastion is weird. At first, I was amazed by it and having fun. Then, it started to get repetitive and boring for a while... Up until the last few levels. After I started paying more attention to weapon upgrades and completing vigils. Now I need to play New Game+ if I want to finish what I started!

Have fun with M&M: Clash of Heroes! I enjoyed it a LOT, it was so addictive. Is the Steam title the same as the one for DS? That's the one I played.

Hope you had a great Christmas also, and a lovely new year so far! For me, the countdown to Spring has begun.

I got bogged down in all the crap the FAQers at the time wanted me to do. "You need this one thing that you can only get by walking into this wall for 10 seconds, replying, then waiting 10 real-time minutes without continuing the story or you'll miss it." Just...wacky stuff like that. The end goal was to get Shion some crazy game breaking healing skill. But even the guides at the time didn't explain how to use the skill system.

One of these days, I need to reacquire and retry Xenosaga. I got it back when it was new and I found it nothing but frustrating. In retrospect, it was the skill system holding me back. The game didn't really explain how to use it or that it was even there, really. Apparently it's pretty easy to screw yourself pretty hard with it.

Oh wow, if you squint real hard Xenosaga is almost quite a 2015 finish, yay! With no backlog progress at all, since Episode 2 becomes un-NULL'd, teehee. BTW, I said it's a worse game, but I personally like the story of 2 MUCH better than 1. And then 3 kills 'em both, in story as well as gameplay.

That was pretty lucky of you! That's the only reasoning that I could think of, or they already had one, for the PS2 being unopened. The madness... If I decide to purchase one for myself, I hope my level of luck is the same as yours!

After my few attempts at forcing Assembly Bills, I can imagine that you would have to be insanely powerful to be successful! I actually only made one attempt, the other few were wrongful slips of the finger, followed by a curse word or two to welcome the inevitable butt kicking.

I didn't even bother attempting to force an Assembly Bill in the second Disgaea title. Already knew that I wasn't near strong enough. Never tried stacking monsters, of any sort, in any battle either. Not even sure why, maybe I didn't realize/remember you even could. Pretty sure that the tutorial chapter mentioned it, but it must have confused me. I am still, by far, a Disgaea noob. Even after beating two titles!

It would feel a bit silly, I think, to spend all that time on seven endings only to skip the last, eighth ending. So I don't blame you for wanting to go for number eight, even if it is anti-climatic. "Way to go" on getting them all, by the way! Baal sounds like a nightmare and a half.

Sounds a bit complicated, the stipulations to each of the endings... It'd probably be easier to make sense of, and/or keep track of, if you were actually making it a goal. I had no idea! When I played Afternoon of Darkness, I thought that there were two, maybe three at most, endings only. I'm still really curious after the ending I received, with Flonne being turned into a flower. What happens to her after that!?

Those "experience upped" stages are to be thankful for, for sure! Otherwise, I'm not sure I'd have the patience to reincarnate. It still sounds like it would take so long to re-level back into the thousands, or even hundreds. I've yet to break 100! I suppose you'd just have to keep passing "stronger enemy" bills to remedy that though... See? I'm still a noob, but I'm catching on! Already want to buy and play the third, but I must pace myself. It's hard to imagine getting burnt out on Disgaea, but I'm sure it's possible. Can't have that.

I also have The Keep in my wishlist. If I remember right, it was through you that I learned of it. I'm in no hurry to get it though, there's many others that'd I want first. It's just there so I don't forget about it really...

Didn't even know about the Stella Glow demo! I'll have to turn on my 3DS just to download that. Hopefully I won't forget. It's been on my wishlist for a few months now. I think I added it last summer? Thanks!

Just removed Zero Escape: VLR a few weeks ago, for Vita. I think I'd prefer playing it on the 3DS, since it'd feel more familiar to playing 999 I imagine. I do plan on re-adding it before, or around, the time that the third title releases. I remember talking about this before with you, something to do with a bug or two... Something I'll have to read up on before starting it, for sure.

And you're right, I totally forgot that McDonald's are hotspots for 3DS hits. I rarely ever go there, always makes me feel ill. Before I even eat it, just the thought... It's probably been years, minus the caramel sundae trips. I get cravings for those once in a while.

Three weeks... I will blame the holiday season. Hope you have a lovely Christmas!

Sash, because of you I decided to continue buying the games from the Disgaea series! :D

I picked up Disgaea 5 and Disgaea D2 the other day. I also took the Disgaea games I had on my pile of games to sell/trade. Kudos to you for convincing me, haha!

I started Half-Life last night. I'm having a blast so far. Intuitive and intriguing to say the least.

Oh wow, StreetPass Weekends sound awesome! Do you have to connect with your 3DS to make use of it, or just walk close enough to the zone? I received a message regarding some StreetPass thing over Thanksgiving weekend from Nintendo. To make use of it though, you had to connect with the 3DS yourself. So I'm not sure if that was the StreetPass Weekend you were talking about...

I know Best Buy is one of the places that is a Nintendo StreetPass Zone, or w/e they're called. I'm not sure of where else has them. I don't go out shopping often enough to really know, or have experience with them. Maybe that's why it gets so confusing to me? Hopefully, it's not frustrating trying to explain it to me.

And that is surprisingly cheap for a PS2 - twenty some dollars only!? Even the American ones, at around fifty to seventy-five, isn't bad. Considering the price of new Playstation consoles, that aren't backwards compatible and with a shameful PS1/2 Classic library on PSN, a used PS2 sounds like a much smarter purchase! Granted, they're used and might not last as long as a new console. It still sounds like a better idea, just have to hope you get one that's been taken care of and is in decent condition.

It really is too bad about the removal of backwards compatibility... Makes it difficult to find reason in the purchase of a new console. Especially when they, and the new games, cost so much! And like you said, still having older titles to finish. I don't want to clutter up my t.v. stand with that many consoles, just so I can play all of the games, either. I miss the days of gaming from my youth, so much simpler. Perhaps that is why I mainly play handhelds now?

That's crazy that you're able to force Assembly bills in Disgaea! How do you manage that? I've never been able to do that. Haven't attempted it since getting my ass kicked those few times in the first title, too afraid. Do you get something special from doing it one-hundred times?

I would love to attempt unlocking all of the classes, along with each stronger version. Seems like it would take some time though... Maybe in the third title, once I get/start it, I'll spend more time on doing everything? In the second one, I beat it so quickly that I didn't even get beyond the Star Mage! My party in the first was much, much stronger.

Bosses at levels 2000, 2500, 4000, and 6000 sound insane! Hell, you being at level 1460, and being able to one-shot the final boss, sounds insane. Does that mean you are no longer reincarnating? I would have zero interest in starting back at level 1 after getting so high. Good luck with taking them down!

So, once you complete the first title, you're saying that you're going to attempt completing the second as well? In due time, of course. I know a little bit about the post-game content in the first title (on PSP), nothing really about the second. Just that you start off with a different main character. A character that I didn't really like very much...

Congratulations on clearing out the handheld BL! Which 3DS titles are you wanting most to fill it back up again?

Handheld backlog clear Nov 19th 2015. Well, more or less clear. DS and 3DS are completely done, Remainder of GBA is nulled for lack of a system to play those games on after my DSLite broke down. May get a replacement, may do them on the GameCube's GBA player, but no short term plans for either of those things. More likely to pick up new 3DS games in the near future.

How much is a PS2 these days? I can't imagine them being very expensive, or most of the games... Except for maybe a small handful. I've been entertaining the thought of getting another PS2 myself, since there's a few games I would really like to play still. Some are on PSN, though I'm sure not all of them are. If only I had my own television somewhere.

Good thing Disgaea survived the "massacre." It sounds like you're awfully close to completing it! Then again, I suppose that wouldn't matter if a memory card is being used... Good luck with that, by the way! What all are you trying to accomplish to consider it complete?

So far, I'm hooked on the second title. I think I like the first one better, though. The changes made to The Dark Assembly are a little annoying. I miss being able to rank up to gain levels, learn spells, and I think even gain reputation points (or w/e they were called) to sway the senators. It's still difficult to turn off! I'm surprised that the story is still just as amusing and sometimes shocking too.

Still have to venture into the Item World a bit more. I didn't do much with it in the first game, either. The NPCs that show up, which I believe are neutral, were a bit confusing to me. Is it bad, or good, to kill them? What do they even do? I heard that it's "easier" to rank up items in the second title. Maybe I'll give it a try in a little bit here. Need to grind a bit after reincarnating my three basic mages into star mages!

Thank you! If it wasn't for that extreme difficulty spike, I probably wouldn't have liked Final Fantasy IV much at all... Even though I didn't get into the characters/story much, I'm thinking, hoping, that The After Years will change that. Looking forward to whenever I get around to it.

I'm not even sure of how a StreetPass Weekend works. Might have had it explained to me once before... It sounds like a great thing though! Especially if it can take care of those pesky, pink pieces of panels.

I hope that you didn't think I was speaking badly of Don't Starve! It is a great game that has a knack for taking over your entire night. If you had the smallest inkling to get the game, you should. Whenever the time is right, or course. I just wish that the door was easier to find!

I think Nintendo Badge Arcade is going to be pretty tough one to complete without spending real money, but oh well. Have you seen the way the game tries to rationalize the fact that it costs money to play? It's a little tactless in my opinion.

Have you made any more progress with the Yo-Kai Watch puzzle? I know you were struggling to get pink pieces last time we talked. I think I have just one or two pink pieces left now.

But the main thing I wanted to ask you about was Nintendo Badge Arcade. We just got it in North America, but I imagine you must have had it there for a while already? Seems kind of similar to Puzzle Swap in that the whole point is to collect junk, haha. Do you have any thoughts about it?

That's too bad about your PS2... Seems to be a going theme for you, failing consoles. Didn't you just replace a PS2? Or was that the Xenogears disc? Maybe it's a Xeno thing... At least your able to play it again!

Finished up with Final Fantasy IV. Ended up learning to like the PSP version, since the difficulty did increase once reaching the last few dungeons. Actually had to warp out of the final dungeon a couple of times to cottage up and save, then re-trek the dungeon to grind levels! I died and lost progress quite a few times. Doom and Reflect were a nightmare...

Good luck finishing that new puzzle! Or have you done so already? I haven't even bothered downloading it yet. Been obsessed with my Vita lately, strangely. Not sure what to play next... The 3DS is getting dusty, but it's nearly up to 200 Play Coins again now.

I have a feeling that it's going to be a long while before Don't Starve gets a "B." It takes long enough just to find Maxwell's Door, which I'm sure is just by luck. Then you have to finish five Chapters/Scenarios to beat Adventure Mode (and I believe unlock another character) with "one" life! Just a nightmare of a game to play sometimes...

No problem, I'm glad it's helping you out! Now you'll be S-ranking those older stages in no time. Matching four definitely isn't bad; it happens to me a lot, especially recently since my current team is a little OP. I usually take a mix of Pokemon with attack powers in their 70s and 80s (no super-effectives), with one of them having either Power of 4 or Power of 4+ in case Meowth still has a lot of health left when I've matched five.

I ended up snagging two or three more pink pieces for the Yo-Kai Watch puzzle yesterday, but overall StreetPass weekend wasn't anything too special for me. For some reason the hotspot I normally use didn't seem to be participating this time, so instead I had to go to a McDonald's and I only ended up with a few new tags.

Yes, stage 37 (Meowth) can net you 500 coins per play. You just need to match five coins and then defeat him. It takes a little practice to get really effective at it, but after a day or so you'll be raking in the coins. At this point it takes me a minute or less to finish the level with 500 coins. My strategy is to line up the coins along the stage's right wall. Even when you fail to match five, you can usually end up with a four-match and still get 300 coins. There are Meowth-grinding guides on YouTube if seeing it done would be helpful. I'm really impressed that you've gotten so far in the game without grinding coins!

I take it you're not grinding coins, then? You can grind about 10k a day. I've never spent real money on the game and I never will. I always try to have about 90k when the weekly update hits, although there have been times when I've been almost bankrupt from escalation stages or whatever. They've since made escalations a lot easier, though, so the only thing that ever costs me that many coins is S-ranking stages. When I run out of stages to S-rank I spend coins on XP-grinding, which is what I've been doing for the last day or so.

Level 240 is indeed the last main level currently. It actually is kind of important to S-rank the main stages, at least, because that's the only way to unlock EX stages (there are 30 of those now). EX Stage 30 only unlocks when you've S-ranked 240 main stages. So far nothing unlocks for S-ranking the EX stages, but I suspect that will happen one day so I'm trying to stay on top of those as well.
It's breaking. Little by little.
