Contemplating whether or not to intimidate somebody to get what I want in town. "What I want" does look to be another party member, so there *is* fairly good cause.

I know what you mean. Aside from daily tasks and other games to play, I've been grinding to get the Gibbering Gemstone and finish that damn staff. Then I really need to run bounties so I can clear out my Cube-able items. The Hardcore run is on the bottom of the list.

I think you mean next Friday. The schedule says the next season starts on the 29th.

I've been meaning to put more time into a hardcore run, but I've gotten into the habit of only playing D3 during a season. I feel that I'm comfortable enough with running Witch Doctor as a pure pet class that I won't have much in the way of problems, particularly if I can get the right item drops early on.

Well, hopefully I'll someday get to play some of the earlier Shin Megami Tensei games. I really liked IV! And now I have SMT IV: Final to look forward to, now that I know about it. One of these days, I'll have to look into it and find out more. Like a possible release date for the U.S.?

How is the demo of Bravely Second? I downloaded it from the eShop once I first read your comment. Haven't gotten around to playing it yet. Too busy with the Vita again...

I'm surprised that I'm even slightly curious about the sequel! The repeating chapters, and impossible final boss I ended up getting, in Bravely Default were so frustrating and tedious. I really liked it otherwise! It is good to hear that they kept that repetition out of the sequel. The combat and crowns were so much fun that I'd appreciate some more.

So Mass Effect is similar to Fallout I would assume? Being a hybrid of RPG and shooter? It looks like you've taken a break from that one as well now. Back to Xenosaga 2 then?

I don't know a whole lot about Dragon Age either... Probably because it's a console/PC title, I assume. Another Western RPG and/or dungeon crawler? That's what it sounds like. I have heard the name before.

Good luck with Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer! That's awfully nice of her to do for you. I've started it a couple of times now, usually making it to the first village. Never gotten any further in to it, not sure why... It's not a bad game and looks like something I would have fun with. Just need to give it the time!

Not familiar with Paper Mario: Sticker Star either, or any title from that series. They've been explained to me before, along with the Mario and Luigi titles. I remember one being more like RPGs, then the other I can't remember... Mini games? They both seem too much in price to take a chance on, when there are other titles I would rather spend the money on first.

Another lengthy one!

I hadn't visited backloggery in a bit (mostly due to work) and I only just finally got your message, a couple of weeks later.
So, Stardew Valley! It looks like you played Harvest Moon - Friends of Mineral Town. Stardew Valley reminds me of that but taken to the next level. It's a familiar formula but with much more open-ended gameplay and lots of customization. You can place crafted items (chests, sprinklers, resource makers, etc.) down wherever you want, move furniture around in your house, craft all manner of things for your farm, pay the carpenter to build and/or demolish buildings, etc. There's no exact right way to play it. You have to find your own path and it's a blast. I would highly recommend it!

Might and Magic VI is turning out to be a way longer game than I anticipated. I think I've maybe explored about 1/3 of the world map so far and I've already logged in about 20 hours! I'm still having a blast playing it though. Finally starting to get some buff and protection spells (it really helps).

I think it has to do with the frequency of times you revive with Play Coins in SMT IV. After leaving my last comment, I was saving much more often. Saving at nearly every doorway/entrance/exit. So the need to be revived became rare. Sometimes, it would be as low as 8 PCs, but never reaching over 15 like it was.

It took me nearly ninety hours to beat the game. I must have been momentarily insane to think I'd be near finished after only forty hours. I think it just felt so fast that I assumed I'd be done in just a couple more days. Silly girl!

Chaos ending for me, just like in Strange Journey. Probably because I liked Walter better than Jonathan, and Jimenez better than that annoying chick in SJ. I've yet to get a Law, or Neutral, ending. I wish I was smart like you and grabbed that Nothing ending, then just restarted my save file! Getting the Neutral ending will definitely take a guide. It sounds like it'd be near impossible without one.

The leveling didn't seem to slow down at all. At times, I think it got faster in certain areas! Especially after hitting that button for the first time. I probably had a little too much fun summoning much lower leveled demons from the compendium, then watching the exp. bar move as I gained 4-5 levels after battles.

I almost wish it didn't go by so fast. Now that it's beaten, I miss playing it. Tempted to start New Game+ already, but it took so long the first time. I'm having trouble deciding what to play next...

Nocturne is a part of the SMT games, right? Isn't it the second, or third, title? I would probably like to play that one, if it is a part of that series. If only I had the means to do so! I'll have to go with the Devil Survivor titles on 3DS next.

Looks like you're still in a bit of a rut? You haven't beaten anything in a while. I no longer see Radiant Historia in the Play List. You must have temporarily given up on the completion attempt. How much do you have left in Mass Effect? I'm not familiar with that title... A FPS? Or some sort of shooter, right? Hopefully, the mood to play Xenosaga 2 will strike soon and you'll be back on track!

Awesome, thanks a lot for your comment!

The game itself was incredibly hard at first. Upon reading a few beginner guides, I picked up a few tips here and there to give myself a fair chance. For instance, first time I tried the game, I ended dying to a horde (and in M&M6, a horde, is more like an army) or enemies. Second time around, I had bows for my characters, giving me at least a chance to slim down the oncoming push of the opposing force.

The game is actually starting to grow on me. The menus are quite easy to use once you understand them and the music is spot on. Speaking of music, I also don't like being in a dungeon in which you hear enemy grunts and similar noises as part of the music when there aren't anyone around. It keeps me on my toes for sure, but it's a bit annoying.

I made a party of Knight/Paladin/Druid/Sorcerer. Loving it so far

When was the last time you played this game?

Sadly, I had to learn that lesson the hard way... To save often in SMT IV. It didn't take very long to go through my Play Coin reserve. I had nearly three-hundred when I first started the game! Took just a couple days to use them up. Now, I rarely have more than fifteen and save every half hour at least. If only I had saved often in the beginning... I could have just reloaded my game instead and saved the P-Coins!

I've been tempted to put more time into Majora's Mask, or even start Dementium II, just to let them build back up again. I'm having too much fun playing SMT IV to want to stop though... I've seen revival costs in the higher twenties!

Apologies for taking so long with my response. A bit slower than usual... Life has been sort of kicking my ass recently.

Congrats on the M&M: Clash of Heroes beat! It sounded like you were enjoying it a bit from your progress updates. Almost makes me want to play it again.

If you get lucky and find one early on, the Nagelring is a major game changer when it's power is extracted. Basically spawns one exploding NPC every 10 seconds that almost always one-shots anything that isn't an elite. Last season, finding one right off the bat allowed me to raise the difficulty to Torment and coast through most of the game. One you're just farming riffs, another game changer is the Illusory Boots, which allow you to run right through mobs without being blocked.

What you had said about recent Shining entries seems to have held true so far because I literally quit playing halfway both through Neo and EXA. Just awfully designed and a waste of time.
Really sad. I ought to delve in the earlier entries as I had great fun with the GBA remake of the 1st one. I also am a fan of Silent Hill, though I've only finished 1 and 2. Silent Hill team nips it in the bud when it comes to atmosphere.

Wow, I can't believe I don't remember all of that... I must have received the normal ending, since that sounds about right. Maybe I looked away just long enough, after the credits started, to miss the part that follows? I have a tendency to update BL, or w/e else, while the credits roll. A bad habit it has proven to be, it seems.

Maybe, someday, I will attempt some of the other endings? Same with the second title. First though, I am considering giving in to the temptation of the third title!

Added a note in the wishlist entry for ZE: Virtue's Last Reward to avoid losing my save data. Thanks for the reminder of what the glitch was and how to spare myself from it! That would be absolutely terrible to have to start from scratch. Especially if you've already received a few of the endings.

Congratulations on your completion of it! How long of a wait for the third title? I recall seeing it on GameStop's website already, just can't remember the date... Not that it matters, for me, since I still have to repurchase and finish the second.

Man, in the first season of The Walking Dead, I remember sometimes having no choice but to do a terrible thing. Having to choose w/e you think is the lesser evil. That game was just brutal!

So far, the second season has wasted little time in bringing that feeling back... It's great! I need to get back to playing it!

I felt awful about that poor dog! Wanted a companion for at least a little while longer. And I must agree, the part of stitching your own arm up was just gut-wrenching. It took me a while to figure out how to even do it. With this new cast, I think it might be easier to do terrible things. I don't like them much yet... That dog would have made better company, I think.

Bastion is weird. At first, I was amazed by it and having fun. Then, it started to get repetitive and boring for a while... Up until the last few levels. After I started paying more attention to weapon upgrades and completing vigils. Now I need to play New Game+ if I want to finish what I started!

Have fun with M&M: Clash of Heroes! I enjoyed it a LOT, it was so addictive. Is the Steam title the same as the one for DS? That's the one I played.

Hope you had a great Christmas also, and a lovely new year so far! For me, the countdown to Spring has begun.

I got bogged down in all the crap the FAQers at the time wanted me to do. "You need this one thing that you can only get by walking into this wall for 10 seconds, replying, then waiting 10 real-time minutes without continuing the story or you'll miss it." Just...wacky stuff like that. The end goal was to get Shion some crazy game breaking healing skill. But even the guides at the time didn't explain how to use the skill system.

One of these days, I need to reacquire and retry Xenosaga. I got it back when it was new and I found it nothing but frustrating. In retrospect, it was the skill system holding me back. The game didn't really explain how to use it or that it was even there, really. Apparently it's pretty easy to screw yourself pretty hard with it.

Oh wow, if you squint real hard Xenosaga is almost quite a 2015 finish, yay! With no backlog progress at all, since Episode 2 becomes un-NULL'd, teehee. BTW, I said it's a worse game, but I personally like the story of 2 MUCH better than 1. And then 3 kills 'em both, in story as well as gameplay.

That was pretty lucky of you! That's the only reasoning that I could think of, or they already had one, for the PS2 being unopened. The madness... If I decide to purchase one for myself, I hope my level of luck is the same as yours!

After my few attempts at forcing Assembly Bills, I can imagine that you would have to be insanely powerful to be successful! I actually only made one attempt, the other few were wrongful slips of the finger, followed by a curse word or two to welcome the inevitable butt kicking.

I didn't even bother attempting to force an Assembly Bill in the second Disgaea title. Already knew that I wasn't near strong enough. Never tried stacking monsters, of any sort, in any battle either. Not even sure why, maybe I didn't realize/remember you even could. Pretty sure that the tutorial chapter mentioned it, but it must have confused me. I am still, by far, a Disgaea noob. Even after beating two titles!

It would feel a bit silly, I think, to spend all that time on seven endings only to skip the last, eighth ending. So I don't blame you for wanting to go for number eight, even if it is anti-climatic. "Way to go" on getting them all, by the way! Baal sounds like a nightmare and a half.

Sounds a bit complicated, the stipulations to each of the endings... It'd probably be easier to make sense of, and/or keep track of, if you were actually making it a goal. I had no idea! When I played Afternoon of Darkness, I thought that there were two, maybe three at most, endings only. I'm still really curious after the ending I received, with Flonne being turned into a flower. What happens to her after that!?

Those "experience upped" stages are to be thankful for, for sure! Otherwise, I'm not sure I'd have the patience to reincarnate. It still sounds like it would take so long to re-level back into the thousands, or even hundreds. I've yet to break 100! I suppose you'd just have to keep passing "stronger enemy" bills to remedy that though... See? I'm still a noob, but I'm catching on! Already want to buy and play the third, but I must pace myself. It's hard to imagine getting burnt out on Disgaea, but I'm sure it's possible. Can't have that.

I also have The Keep in my wishlist. If I remember right, it was through you that I learned of it. I'm in no hurry to get it though, there's many others that'd I want first. It's just there so I don't forget about it really...

Didn't even know about the Stella Glow demo! I'll have to turn on my 3DS just to download that. Hopefully I won't forget. It's been on my wishlist for a few months now. I think I added it last summer? Thanks!

Just removed Zero Escape: VLR a few weeks ago, for Vita. I think I'd prefer playing it on the 3DS, since it'd feel more familiar to playing 999 I imagine. I do plan on re-adding it before, or around, the time that the third title releases. I remember talking about this before with you, something to do with a bug or two... Something I'll have to read up on before starting it, for sure.

And you're right, I totally forgot that McDonald's are hotspots for 3DS hits. I rarely ever go there, always makes me feel ill. Before I even eat it, just the thought... It's probably been years, minus the caramel sundae trips. I get cravings for those once in a while.

Three weeks... I will blame the holiday season. Hope you have a lovely Christmas!

Sash, because of you I decided to continue buying the games from the Disgaea series! :D

I picked up Disgaea 5 and Disgaea D2 the other day. I also took the Disgaea games I had on my pile of games to sell/trade. Kudos to you for convincing me, haha!

I started Half-Life last night. I'm having a blast so far. Intuitive and intriguing to say the least.

Oh wow, StreetPass Weekends sound awesome! Do you have to connect with your 3DS to make use of it, or just walk close enough to the zone? I received a message regarding some StreetPass thing over Thanksgiving weekend from Nintendo. To make use of it though, you had to connect with the 3DS yourself. So I'm not sure if that was the StreetPass Weekend you were talking about...

I know Best Buy is one of the places that is a Nintendo StreetPass Zone, or w/e they're called. I'm not sure of where else has them. I don't go out shopping often enough to really know, or have experience with them. Maybe that's why it gets so confusing to me? Hopefully, it's not frustrating trying to explain it to me.

And that is surprisingly cheap for a PS2 - twenty some dollars only!? Even the American ones, at around fifty to seventy-five, isn't bad. Considering the price of new Playstation consoles, that aren't backwards compatible and with a shameful PS1/2 Classic library on PSN, a used PS2 sounds like a much smarter purchase! Granted, they're used and might not last as long as a new console. It still sounds like a better idea, just have to hope you get one that's been taken care of and is in decent condition.

It really is too bad about the removal of backwards compatibility... Makes it difficult to find reason in the purchase of a new console. Especially when they, and the new games, cost so much! And like you said, still having older titles to finish. I don't want to clutter up my t.v. stand with that many consoles, just so I can play all of the games, either. I miss the days of gaming from my youth, so much simpler. Perhaps that is why I mainly play handhelds now?

That's crazy that you're able to force Assembly bills in Disgaea! How do you manage that? I've never been able to do that. Haven't attempted it since getting my ass kicked those few times in the first title, too afraid. Do you get something special from doing it one-hundred times?

I would love to attempt unlocking all of the classes, along with each stronger version. Seems like it would take some time though... Maybe in the third title, once I get/start it, I'll spend more time on doing everything? In the second one, I beat it so quickly that I didn't even get beyond the Star Mage! My party in the first was much, much stronger.
It's breaking. Little by little.
