Why do we play video games? It's a question I'm sure a lot of gamers have asked themselves in the past. I'm sure everyone's reasons are a little different.
One of the reasons I play video games is because they are a great escape from the real world. If you're ever having a crappy day, have certain problems, or you just need a place to escape to; video games are a great place to do that. They keep your mind on other things. Sometimes it's nice to just put on the shoes of a character and just forget about whatever problems we have going on. I get pulled into these vast worlds and stories and just forget about what is around me. Sometimes that can cause me more problems on certain occasions but for the most part it works.
I think another reason I play games is a sense of accomplishment or success. One of the best feelings in the world is the feeling after you finish a really good game (especially if it was on a tough difficulty). Depending on the game you feel a plethora of different emotions; happiness, sadness, anger, shock, confusion maybe? But along with those feelings is the sense that you did something good, something right, something important. That feeling is what urges us, at least me, to pick up the next one and keep playing.
Going back to anger, anger can lead to another great reason to play a game and is also another reason I play them. You know a lot of people (stupid people) think you shouldn't play violent games because they will make you want to act out those killings in real life. I feel that it is just the opposite. Sure you are going to have that one nut that says they killed people because Call of Duty made them do it or they like to drive drunk because they play Grand Theft Auto but that is a small percentage of people. Most people, like me, like to play violent video games to let off some steam. Seriously if something or somebody during my day pisses me off when I come home and shoot some people on CoD, Halo, or whatever it may be then I feel better. It's a healthy way to let the anger out. The people that think real world violence is caused by video games are just looking for something to blame it on and have probably never played a game in their life, but that's a different thought for another post.
Video games are the best form of art (yes video games are art...another thought for another day) and deserve more respect from people who do not play them. A lot of people just don't understand what is so fun about a video game.
Video games make you feel. There are some characters in games that I care about more than real people. There are many games that I have a deep emotional connection with and as a guy I am not afraid to say that at all. Games have made me cry. Others like me understand, while people who don't play just think I'm insane. They just don't get it. Don't ever let anyone tell you that loving video games is dumb. Gamers may get into fights about what games are better but we all have one thing in common...we understand each other. We all love the best form of art in the world. We play these games for many reasons but there is one single reason we all play, one reason why we turn off the real world around us…because they're fun.

This collection is mine and my brothers(MetalMario), most of the games are both of ours.
This song perfectly encapsulates Bioshock Infinite.[Link]
If I get all the trophy's/achievements in a PS3 or Xbox 360 games its automatically a
